stan, stan, stan, ive seen the fish you guys catch and you could clean them on a cheese cutting board with a pairing knife...imagine having a 3ft long fillet board and the head and tailhang off both ends ..........when you comming out to fish? and a 10 in fillet knife is too short to cut all the way through.

Stan ,good luck in orgy. hey you know the fish in your photo all of them you could put in a single sandwitch bag and have a boil a meal .me and "ole joe" got a secret way to cook them in a toilet bowl .the secret is ya got to heat it slowley(pee a lot) so ya dont thermel crack the porclen.then ya could use "joe the 6 packs " recipe and use cheep beer .how come she never mentions "ray the kegger"?......HIC..... -

This morning as we were bashing each other Bob got a phone call that a close friend had passed away in his sleep ,sorta deflated the ballon as he signed off.. So once again one of us is in need of prayers and Uplifting from "our L.O.U. family"...Hang in there my friend (DAD) and call if you need a shoulder. You have plenty of them here...Ray K.

first you need to brine the salmon also remove the entrials for uniform drying.then take the salmon and one 2lb bag of mesquite smoking chips to the local laundry place ,throw in up to 4 salmon max (25 lbrs) in the dryer and turn on high for 3 hours keep adding chips as needed.this also works for venison jerky and smoked ducks.(no need to remove feathers).id suggest you could do this at home but the steamed salmon in the dishwasher ticked the wife off so bad that i'm not allowed to cook at home anymore.

oh other than mentioning rods fight with a snail(2) looks like we covered the trip .........hey wait i just thought of another pro/am change at the captians meeting there was free shrimp, chili, and some other oddehours(food)and there were waitresses who were serving drinks to the tables, and were they ever hot ........well the beer goggles helped there looks a little.im might be a little anal(ok a lot) when it comes to catching a tidal waters fish as the bite usually slows to a snails pace(no pun intended rod)so i was acting as the masterbaiter to get the bait back in as fast as we were bringing in the fish.We also lerned a new term from the locals he,he keep this a secret WAFI pronounced waaafeee guess what it stands for....................................................ok time is up Wind Assited Frigging(or another" f" word your choice) Idiot ,new term for blowboats. Thanks to Fishtails and Dieselhp for allowing me to come on board 20/20 hind site thats a brave move for anyone..so Fisherman flip your bergers,Jason shut up idiot, and Musky get the bobber out and land one of those kingcoheads. -

well were home before the derby was scheduled to end if that tells ya anything . never left the dock for the derby due to 15 to 25 increasing through the day with 40mph gust predicted only to get worse tomorrow (sunday).day 1 .launch boat oh by the way guys (capt.rod mentions)we only got one outdrive that works ,i had it in the shop 2 times and they could not fix so i brought my vice grips so we could fix it here.well lucky for rod i gots the smarts of a fith grader and had it working in 20 min. Then spent the next hour spinning in circles as the capt. admits to never backing his dual outdrive in a tight slip before,i could of guessed that after trying to help him steer to port no the other port, LEFT now a little starbord no the other starboard TURN RIGHT ......oh well the barnicles needed to be removed from every pilon in the launch area anyways.day 2 ....left slip at 0930 sharp to the secret spot across the vast sea of 5ft chop, swells, wind, tide, and goofy currents only to have the newly installed radar almost come crashing on my little bald head sent the captian to the crows nest with some rope to make temp underway repairs to the radar support,.Then we nose into the secret spot (you know the one thats so secret the fish dont know its there)right between 40 other boats and set anchor .....i said set anchor.............. ok lets set the anchor OH wait there is no chain between the rope and anchor so it wont grab always wondered the importance of that noisy chain.after a little(lot of) grumbling on my part rod had me walk the plank blindfolded (the same blindfold he wore to park the boat)told me to quit whining so i did (out loud).so its back across the ocean to the docks for straps and chain and to pick up diesel.we did manage several 27.5" strippers (min 28in)before calling it a evening..day 3 back to the secret spot with new confidence from the locals (and another 90.00 dollars of must have tackle).we know the spot must be good as this day there is close to 100 boats and we actually saw a fish caught but not a stripper... so we go to our spot where we got fish the day before and got around 10 with 3 keepers then left the fish to find fish ........the new spot was loaded with sea bass, porgys and some other toothy creatures which were fun to catch then called it another day as we headed to the capt meeting with the decision that the weather was going to be too nasty to fish............oh i ALMOST forgot to mention what rods were hot in the boat and who got picked on for bringing such small rods, and who's fishing tec.put all the strippers in the boat ,ill give you 3 guesses............. -

1st derby i was in sodus last year you could cull if you cant get a 19 to 24 " fish to the boat before its played out get bigger line, ive released hundreds of fish in that size range and they all swim away very well this year we couldnt cull, other than niagra most had no reason too.every year the fishing changes .the rules are fine the observer is a little tuff but part of the game im happy with the way things are.ya catch what you catch if you do well you win if you suck that day well ....some one else wins...im fat and happy the way things are..if you want more poeple in the derbys advertise and word of moulth ..you cant keep everyone happy is a golden rule and when you try you will fail is a goldener rule you can take to the bank..........hey what about those bills?
