  2. Stan ,It has occured to me that you finding this site is going to cost you a lot of money.Tell us the price range your looking at for a house and well get you a nice home within 30 min of these fish. Good way to get even for some of your kings that left home ..........Go East Young man Go East.
  3. no i never speed tune as everything i target is fishable at the speeds the lure was designed for.about the only change i do is put a sharp single hook on my sliders for better hookup using that stlye fishing
  4. bears on high allert make the smartest whitail seem like kids play.
  5. even a flutter spoon is hard to speed tune with back (hump)up press gently at highest and widest part of spoon .sorta flattens a little and makes it more speed tolerant. no majic here and you should do this on the water so you can test it each time you adjust, kinda a trial and error thing.sometimes changing hook size is another good thing to conisider on non brased rings (suttons) spoons (split rings)
  6. looks like bear ,put some marshmellows in that tree back there

  11. As Capt. Kirk would say,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, opps thats your line sorry.
  12. rubber bands work well ,but ive found if you put a ten ft piece of mono with a rubber band on each end you can feel the fish better then just toss in the mono when it starts to frey.and another trick is to take a styrafoam coffee cup tie a short piece of line with a couple splitshots to it and throw it in the water to get you back to a good hot spot .kinda like the markers bass guys use only you dont have to waste time at the end of the day and pick them up.
  13. have a look yerself...... http://www.olcottfishing.com/ pretty accurate report when it kept up.
  14. The last 3or four years i hooked up with 150 to 200 cohos a year,, This year i think i got 5 .Them boys were in the lake somewhere some one posted they saw a year without cohos a few years back and come spawning time they appeared. Well the good news is the cohos have been running the salmon river pretty good tuesday and nonstop for the last 24 hrs. with no sign of slowing up as the estuary is teaming with fish as i type. Many are porpising as cohos do, not the lazy king jump.the other good news is the kings arnt done yet with many still comming in with the cohos. The water temp (river) has droped enuf for the steelies and browns to start running good also.SO if anyone is feeling a little sickdayitus tomorrow might be another day to consider. So where were those Cohos???????????????????????????????????????????????????

  18. how does that food chain thing work?? shure would be interesting to know what happened to the millions of smelt that used to be in seneca lake... i ant no expert but prior to mid 80's there used to be lots of big lamphry eels and millions of smelt now there is lots of small lamphry's and not 1 smelt ,smelt were introduced to seneca lake around 1904 and have thrived to the point that it was not uncommon for anyone with a net to bring garbage cans full of smelt home and it was not just a few but most everyone who went after them. then in the 80,s when the lampracide treatments started the smelt dissapeared , oh well probly just global warming.... do we really want to experment on lake Ontario?
  19. freeman if your bow is shorter than your draw you should have more of a bow or bend in your arm making it harder to hit your arm .You need to work with a good shop as how to hold your bow and arm position.Elbow down and in will slap you every time not to mention your pattern, elbow up slightly and out will get you started . trolling im kinda new at but ive been shooting a bow for over 40 years.
  20. Most uf us with the smaller boats hurt for space for that big cooler .after tripping over it for a few trips and no big fish you leave it in the truck. Thats when you get the keeper .......i keep (try to) a box of contractor grade large trash bags in the boat toss in a cup of water ,or some ice and the fish .Atleast youll keep the evaporation at a min. Just dont torpedo the fish in the bag or it will act like a squeegie as the fish passes out the bottom.
  21. cool
