dhp im a idiot but your response makes us brothers.... when we say wire its with a dypsy hooked to it, copper you just let out like a flatline and when you get a fish you just reel, reel, reel ,,,, reel and reel and just like that its in the boat.the best thing is to invite me to fish those strippers off the coast and ill fill you in on the details(forget rod he'll steal your plug) -
maybe its like a baromiter or something changes with the weather ill work on the cause.

Rod , we all would like the sponsers to grow ,i bet if we hired a few of those hooter girls to go door to door to diff. mfg. for donations we would all walk out with a armfull of prizes. The pro/ams must bring in close to 1000.00 for each boat to the local economy.thats 80,000.00 in a weekend and probly closer to 100,000.00 figuring in beverages.Im shure a huge problem is getting volenteers to do the legwork needed for P.R...for these derbys. So maybe the towns involved could use some of there resorces (people) for this,as im shure they all do now.Us talking about it is the first ,step someone reacting to it in a positive manner will be step two, and mfgrs reacting to the request will be the final step.so if any of the derby organizers have ideas as to how we can help let us know, many of us own our own buisness or have run fundraisers or been involved in such matters and may be a good asset to the programs or derbys. LET US KNOW WHAT WE CAN DO AND IT WILL GET DONE.

Lake Trout - How to Release
ray koziatek replied to scruffytoad's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
put them on your left sholder and pat there back till they burp!!!!!!!!!!Then release......gently burp them from the head back start at the head and with a wet hand slide it back it will take a couple times sometimes it works and sometime it dont. llike rabbit says let them sorta come to the surface slow enjoy the fight . -
I would like to remind everyone about the Professional site it only cost 20.oo bucks and it helps offsets the cost of this whole website.Everyone who does there homework here has improved there fishing ,some to levels of taking a charter to learn diff.tech .and equip. used.FOR FREE !! not a 600.00 dollar plus charter. So consider .no ...........take the step and become a pro. toss Blue Eyes 20 bucks, thats less than 4 lures and the info here has helped you put fish in the boat. In the pre L.O.U. days it may have taken years to learn the stuff you get here at the click of a mouse.I put this post as random as i do any other post i am not affilated or was asked to post this and maybe it will get pulled .Sooo if you learned 20.00 worth of fun here please become a PRO so This site can contiue to grow and stay alive... Thank You Ray K.

Walleye Fishing Close To Salmon River
ray koziatek replied to fishbear's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
every once in a while someone gets one at random .Couple of us guys were talking running a harness or chatterstix while salmon fishing or just run a complete wally program for a few hours. They gotta hang some where and if you dont give it a good try on ocasion well never know. -
thats what made the point (runoff from the creek over the years) it right there sorta tucked in behind the launch area.as with many creeks around the fingerlakes this time of year i would guess its to low to hold fish .i was only there once 25 years ago and there is (Was) a falls with a hole that might hold small fish.but if its like like most areas some one has probly posted it by now and with good cause. now if the wind is right and you want to cast lures or better yet slip bobber live bait off the point early in the morning the fish come in at night to feed.but this tech. is best in spring and fall .I might suggest getting a good map and do a little exploring ,bring a camera as some of the glens and falls you will find are worth the trip and worthy of photos.
