  1. Ok bob its time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Flush
  2. gotcha .
  3. Boy with all the old farts on this site im shure many would trade a good neck, back straighting, for a trip on the water . Unless your failing, first name is bubba,or nickname is "the cruncher".
  4. heard it was a killer for" sheepkingcohoheads" they claim it can be used with a bobber Musky.
  5. sheepkingcohohead, musky caughta nice on e couple days back
  6. some one said thereis one outa the oak but after he ran out and set up 500 ft in front of me a couple days ago i wont mention his name or refere anyone to charter with him .check some old post.
  7. keep your chin up kid the first year i fished ontario i skunked my first 2 trips then i read, read, and read some more mostly www.attheoak.com ,had some close calls but never got skunked for the last 6 years . so do your home work do some lurking here and fire away with your questions you got a lot of helping hands here and we all had those slow learning curves and feel your pain. and your right when the rods dont fire it stinks .where you outa maybe someone can show ya the roaps on the water.Ray K.
  8. Kinda strange he just HAPPENED to have Laker rigs in his boat.
  9. Tuff call as for the cause .I grew up on Post Creek in Steuben cty., in the last few years ive noticed slime everywhere that was never there in the past. The chemung river also is sliming up and so is Catherine creek .With "NO, NONE ,Or ANY Knowlage of such things i can only guess as to Causes .As we all know tha days of many small farms with cows pooping in the fields and farting in the wind are mostly gone ,Now we have mega barns holding 299 head of milkers pooing and pepeing in a trough and the liqued is spread on top of the ground that is easly washed off now if you have 300 head of cows you have to plow in the waste (sort of)which is slower and costlier.dont quote me on the numbers this was 2nd hand info passed to me.As i say this is a guess and a plumers observation and i know poop. Other than lower water levels on streams that i see the only other item mentioned was lawn fertlizer .At first this seems kinda small sorce but from 1981 to86 i ran the lawn and garden dept at one of 6 stores in a town of 15,000 i easly sold 2 or 3 tracter trailer loads a summer, back then.If you take a boat ride around lest say Keuka lake the days of a cottage with a small lawn have changed to mega cottages with huge green lush lawns ,and Lake ontario shares the same type growth of multi million dollar cottages with th lawns the size of 3 football fields. So remembering form the fertlizer days i know 50lb does 15,000 sq ft .if put down proper .but anyone in the buisness knows you have ,CRABGRASS PREVENTER AND FERTLIZER PUT DOWN IN THE SPRING.GRUB CONTROL WITH FERTLIZER EARLY SUMMER,SUMMER FERTLIZER FOR LUSH LAWNS ,FALL FERTLIZER WITH WEED PREVENTER ,AND FINALLY SNOW MOLD PREVENTER WITH FERTLIZER TO BE PUT DOWN LATE FALL. So the lawn issue may have more weight than one might think.Specially after a wet summer with near shore issues Hey Just Like This Year.
  10. lay them on there back tilt the head back slightly get a large moulthful of lake water and blow gently through the gills ,works every time .
  11. Pretty big smile for a accident,I'd say that was one very proud crew!!
  12. chicken, mud puppy, slimer, pooper, and mighty tasty fresh out of the fingerlakes. In other words dinner.Fisherman has a nother word for em.(targets)
  13. I think there saving there money for a ferry boat to toronto .Just think of the 10 or 20 people a week that might use it. If they could pick one up for 20 million or so it would pay for its self in no time.
  14. gosh it would be a shame if 10 or 20 trollers had moter problems in the middle of that mess.with there hoods up and fixing there moters.
  15. overall a slow week for the big guys ,did 3 in the 20s (low)many 10lbrs and skippys with many dinks.steelhead are all over still sat we did a run out with a 19 for 27 day 7 kings the rest steelies.some nice fish caught around us .had one blowoff morning so we walked the planks(docks) chated with Capt, Ron from the Buckaroo for quite a while and after much probing he finally gave the big secret to why he catches so many fish.Im not shure if i should tell here but i suppose it cant hurt .And from the moulth of one of the top Captians on lake ontario here it is, its all in the paint job of the bottom of his boat ,It says"EAT AT THE BUCKAROO".I tried to swim under his boat to read it for myself but i couldnt keep up and kept getting hung up in the rigger cables ,he wasnt too happy with me over that . So after fishing for 7 days im shure its not my raw skill that will put the big one in the boat ,But just dumb luck ,igot the dumb part coverd just need a little luck. Ray K.
  16. yank, were pulling outa corning at 0400 so well be lucky to getout before 0630 hope it ant to bumpy tomorrow ,PEGASUS
  17. you can try bending the fin a tad (little) and puy the out on the correct side each time i got one in my cellar with about 10 min on it ill melt it down when i make more fish weights. hindsite dont buy one.........or two
  18. whew ,day two started out a little bumpy then we left the camper. The water was a little wavey too in the am then got a little better by afternooner .nutin but gobies and rockbass today guess you cant get those sheepkingcohoheads every day.Im thinking i might have to go outside the breakwall to find some more of the bigones. I cant for the life of me figure why all those boats go so far off shore when the good fishing is along the breakwall ive gone through 2 dozen worms allready and havent even eaten any this trip. the bluuuuegrass festival was a blowout as there was only one band and i was the only one that got invited but it was a little fun .dug up a few hundred clams looking forward for a nice clam dinner tonight. When i got back to the ramp to load back on the trailer there were several people there waiting for me they were all upset about me leaving the trailer and truck in the water ,That dont make sence because it saves all that time of me walking across the lot to get my truck heck i was loaded and outa there in 2 min flat (round). Funniest thing was when i got back to camp i realised i forgot to bring in my rods and there were still 2 fish on the lines 20 ft behind the boat they were pretty beat up after 10 miles but tasty none the less.well Bubba is due for my 2nd follow up exam anytime so i better cut it short ,im a little worried that there could be a problem with the oll prostrate bubba said he might bring tiny with him tonight to check me out better safe than sorry.Good luck everyone ill be getting out in the morning .......Muskybob.
  19. As you know the kings are the first to hit the streams,in the last 35 years of salmon river fishing not many(years) have had the high flow rate as the salmon river does this year .It would not surprise me to see the kings entering the river (smaller numbers) any day now .ive been there many times under these conditions the 3rd week of august with no one but me and my nefew on the whole river and all the big holes were loaded with kings. also the smallmoulth bass are nuts this time of year too so a nice ultra light and some worms can make for some fun times too.so plan ahead for some backup fun.
  20. yes they do spawh and in the fall with the browns.i know of several streams were they consentrate quite heavy. There is no mistaking them on there beds there very stupid and quite suseptable to lifters so i wont mention the stream names.
  21. Il skip all the shame stuff of hacking into Ray K's post. Well got to wrights launch in record time after my prostrate exame by my Docters new intern Bubba. Sorta had that feeling i was forgetting something, yup left the boat home ,i was on cloud nine after my exame and forgot the boat.My 2 run to wrights was a little slower with the boat in tow. After 6 hours of trolling without a hit i made the decision there was no fish in the parking lot so off to the deep blue yonder.(hey that was a song sang by the "Back Door Bandits"). I put out my normal spread and got into them instantly both bobbers down on several ocasions, the gobies have gotten much bigger than my last trip.had to break out the dypsy rods to get them in netting was a great challange due to there size. Then it happend every fishermans dream the big one hit my #1 bobber was no match for this big boy , even pulled out line after 2 hours with 40# test line i landed my biggest sheepkingchohohead talk about elated this thing was almost as long as 3 of them gobies head to tail. What a mounter that puppys going on the wall.Though the taxadermy guy said driving around all day with the fish layed across the bowe for all to see will make his job a little harder(wimp). So its off to camp and tonight im heading to another Bluuuuue grass festival and you know who will be there.Even Bubba siad he would stop by camp for a free follow up exame  hope hes not late will try to post tomorrow. Muskybob......
  22. Is oswego on lake ontario?
  23. R.R. Dave ant no dead horse but a overrun horse, after a few calls last year as to where my 25.00 buck were he staited the summer derby increased there work load so much that they contaplated ending it after 1 year.and it happened again this year YEA.So maybe this year he and the board will have a little more time to recive input from its members as to other concerns. Sometimes change dont happen overnite or even after 1 year but hopefully the squeaky wheels will get some grease. If not then I and others will start squeking again next year or untill we get a answer that keeps us lubed ,Gently. As` for fishing next week you might save some gas money and stay home as i plan to fill the board with the fish we catch.
