42 second spoon seems to be a hot one
ray koziatek replied to traveling man's topic in Tackle and Techniques
i have one given to me by the inventor of this spoon and the diff between the photo and the one he made for me is the ladders 2 were cut down the middle the left side of each one applied back to back gave it a reversed ladder effect one applied foward and one applyed backwards.opps PIRATE CHARTERS told me he was the one who origaneted the spoon though the oak has another person listed as the maker. -
me too? might be talking east end? upwellings at the south shore including the oak happen with a strong south wind.

Fuzzy ,hate to say it but i might guess 12 lbs maybe a tad lighter but kudos to you for a accurate pic, some actually hold there fish at arms length to make it look bigger so there reports seem a little better but we all know that trick. im gonna submite this and have a second look then if there is a big diff. ill post again. -

yea tom what a nice report, good for you to get into the fish .Man i cant wait to get back out west to catch along with the fishing program.sunday for the pro am we knew there was no way to come back so instead of killing some small browns we opted to go for kings or go for broke and we did both got a nice 23lbr and close to 10 lbr steelie lost at the net and a nice rip on the wire. You would of been proud of Musky for the way he brought in the steelie ,I was ,we had a little netting issue but 1 more fish would of done us no good for score and we saw it up close and it lives to see another day.so a win,win for us and the fish.... -

biting flies.
ray koziatek replied to StormFront's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Yes they do hatch on the water as you know usually the further out the worse the flys, when i get home the next day or two any fly left in the cabin is dead which also tells you there life span is short. I belive when you kill one (splatter it) on you you instantly cover that area with (feramones) they use to locate each other for mating thats why so many flock to the site of the funeral....this is just my therory and im sticking to it.... -
Whew all i (we) can say it was some tuff fishing for some and harder for others i think we fell in both groups.Day 1 we changed our stratigy on a (hot tip) late friday nite (thanks Hank its all your falt) that worked out well as we got to meet every boat in the pro/am at our new secret spot .MEMO stick with your own plan.........the good thing is we got our moneys worth of fishing every available min of the derby in stead of goingin early with a full box.YEA..Speeking of being LUCKY ENUFF to come in early we had the pleasure of meeting one of those teams at our camp and i think they took full advantage of the extra beverage time by comming in early (I would never do that) one of them went into Muskys Camper to take a leak. Now as us guys know that usually involves two moving parts your zipper and the toilet seat ,well i guess this was way to much information for this person and the next thing you know the loudest bang of the weekend comes from the back of the camper, seems like they backed into the shower stall looking for the instruction sheet and did a freefall (fell in a heap)in the shower Well this is one of those shower tub combinations with a plug for the drain, you guessed it the plug came up missing  it was getting a little dark and know one noticed but it did sound like a stopper chain rattling every time ROD stood up ,im shure that was a coinsadence .Bottom line (no pun intended ROD) A good time was had by all, a better time had by some, and musky is still looking in his camper for that elusive drain plug (I think he should be looking in PA.) A great big THANK YOU to SODUS and the people involved in the final 2008 PRO/AM (heck all 4 derbys).Ray K. P.S. i bet in pa there will be another loud BANG when someone GETS LUCKY ENUFF to get THE PLUG OUT....

Pro Am prefishing derby????????
ray koziatek replied to ray koziatek's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Pro /AM rule dissucion topic ...............................Bill Hilts and those involved with the rules . I was just informed and i hope it was misinformation that if a team had 1 or 2 small fish and did not weigh in on day one that would give them a zero .By doing this it would give them a better chance at winning the COMEBACK award. If some did use this stratigy I dont feel it is a true comeback . This could be solved by a simple fix of if you dont turn in your signed sheet on day one you are DQ'd from the COMEBACK award . This GREY area could be solved very easy. ALSO as we know our "FIRST PRO/AM" we all feel like a "outsider" till we meet a few guys or teams,at every captians meeting the whole NEW teams should be invited and by show of hands should be reconized so we all could greet them to this ,HUMBLING,FUN,COMPETIVE, and sometimes REWARDING experience of the PRO/AM DERBYS.. Thank You Ray K. P.S. then everyone on the new teams could here the rules or questions involved at these meetings..... -
