  1. um before you get to excited about hitting the lake you might check the weather supposed to by 25 to 30mph sustained with isolated gust to 40.that crowded stream might be a good option. jigging will work but not in those winds ,and with the new bait laws i dont think you should be anywhere near water without certified bait..........
  2. rusty what jason ment by (fishing points) thats how the old timers that pulled copper on seneca on the west side would stay over the 100ftsh water before the fish finder daysfor the first 7 or 8 miles on the s/west end of seneca if you keep your keel aimed just outside the next visable point you will be in about 100 ft depth water.i assume you know lakers and brown trout are bottom orenated fish (they rise up eat and lay on bottom to rest)this time there is not much of a thermal but the 100 to 125 range always seems to be where they are resting probly a light and pressure thing they like .but it is not unuasual to get lakers right to the surface when that 2or 3 hr shoulda been there feed bag window happens.this time of year if you want lakers without trolling all day you might set your stuff in the water around 3 in the afternoon till dark
  3. geese billy on my aluminum ive been using a mixture of fish poop and slime kinda acts like a big chum bag ,i only wash er down before i bring a chummer on board sorta like FISHERMAN in 1 ft seas.i cant belive i just responded to a subject such as boat wax, almost as bad as that guy on glangler with the priming bulb problem after several suggestiong and a thoural investagation he was outa gas..hope he has wireless internet so he can get some help as what to do when a fish bites his lure.
  4. as longline said the hookup ratio is better for single hook,or maybe i should say the land ratio is much better .the only lures i change hook weight are my sliders as i like to lighten the hook for a little more wild action on the slider ,notice i said weight, lighter hook more action and single hooks greatly increase catch ratio on a slider xtra sharp a must... as billy said i really dont go through the extra labor to change hooks like some people around here.. just do it to tune my slider.
  5. buchshot if you cant scroll down the ebay page how ya gonna drive a boat?
  6. FX i feel your pain i havent had mine out of the driveway for ................3 days...... now that was low even for me.
  7. ive been talking with L&M and he has a little inside info on the new ride something about having a custom shoe rack(croc) installed
  8. bob ive been flashing fisherman off the back of my boat for years and my salmon taste the same .................wait a minute i think i read your post wrong opps. looks like a go for all derbys, now we gotta get tom to put down the flipper and back away from the grill.
  9. just missed ya on the other post ,guess i shuda suggested a afternoon trip as to the peak feeding time of lakers not to mention 50deg and sunny, you know what i wear around the house when cleaning is between me and my wife that was privy info and you didnt need to tell the whole forum of my atire. ill forget to mention that you drove back and forth in front my house for 2 hrs while i was washing the windows. mtn dew w/green fly ,should be your next purchase.and dont be to hard on your fishfinder yet ,there a days when i dont mark a thing but catch fish specially lakers i think there just laying on bottom for the most part and after you pass they rise up and hit your lure ..there is just something about senece and marking fish consistantly, lake onterio no problem or any other body of water i have fished they work well .and ive heard the same from many other experianced boaters on this lake.
  10. thats it! no report as to fish caught?
  11. yup www.senecamarine.com
  12. bob thats my new rig next time you see me out circle my boat and if i dont respond pull out your pistol and fire a few shots across my bow to get my attention

  14. long winter ehhh eagle eye!looks like i gotta retrain ya again
  15. zebe i do hit the north end but with the bait heading towards the canal for the spawn around the end of may they bring a lot of feeding fish with them .so if the food is brought to the table why run north and look for pockets of fish,,,i do have a honey hole or two to the north but i save them for the derby and my lips are sealed,,,,,,,,,,,,td if your gonna fish sunday get there early so you can get to the launch and dont plan on pulling out before the sale is ended as many people will block the drive
  16. jason forced me to take him fishing on seneca again, the topwater bite is still slow and cold 38deg.few landlock(dinks) and 1 brown small also. The laker bite on the otherhand was still smoking to many dubles and triples to count actually we would of had 4 going again but due to the wind someone had to stay on the wheel heading into the wind. the bait is showing up its still around150 to 200 ft down kinda explains all the fat lakers weve been getting this year .also the eel problem seemes to have for the most part dissapeared on the so end out of 40 or50 fish id say there was only a half dozen with eels or marks and the eels were real small 4or5 inches almost like a new school of lakers moved in the area we fished last time.(they had large marks on them).ill keep sacraficing myself to keep up the research on the fish health and population ,the tast test will happen tonight.when the surface hits the magic 41deg mark that bite should fire up.canceled the oil can(brown trout)run to sodus as hank warned with a south wind the bay ice can drift to the shoot and block your return .if ya want some good eating and catching head to seneca so end soon . the lakers ant as easy to get as those L.O. browns but if ya drop some green down 80 to90 ft at the 2.5ish mph range gps youll be bending some rods before the day is up.(many times) Ray K.
  17. 1 hr drive north and we could troll for some oilcans maybe a steelie
  18. i sorta drifted to the furry bikini contest

  22. yes they shocked it. the water levels should be fine and there is always fish in that creek under all conditions ,i might suggest doing a little research on the cohocton river to act as a backup plan ,,even catherine creek in the afternoon the first day will settle down of fishermen specially if its raining
  23. just picked up a uniden"oceanus dcs"it has the memory scan, gps cap, almost too many features but ill figure it out in time ..the basic modes are still easy to use...........push the little button on the side of the mic and tell the most outragious lie as to how good the fishing is then keep repeating some stupid call to none all day ,or better yet yell TALLY HO every 10 minutes when it dead slow to pizz everyone off ..140.00 at bass pro
