they lay where they are, snow is a insulator, grouse know this too as they will divebomb when their is 12 plus of the fluffy stuff in sub zero temps. In most of ny (except extreame snow belt),the weather wont steer them to a secluded spot where they can brouse, and drink.Up in Alberta it is not unuasual to find several sheds from the same buck in a tiny patch of brush or cover. But after the first week of hunting this year I think they have tunnels and all hide in them when its warm,so maybe they use them in the snow too...jst joking about the tunnel thing I think?

I had 1 also coolest pet i ever had,the neighbors would always mention when he took a bottle cap, nails from the roofers and even a few matchbox cars from the sand box,,I wonder where his secret stash was? Maybe one of these days when climbing a tree to place a stand ill find some ones watch....It was pretty cool to come home from school and whistle and 3/4 mile away he would drop off the hill and land on my arm........

Bandrust I have to admit as i kid i did overuse my BB gun on birds, shot wood chucks for fun and crows too..Now that I've put a few circles around the sun behind me,I have to agree why take a life of something Im not gonna eat, sell,or gonna protect the safty of my family or deer (coyotes)..Yes I am a tree hugger ...every time i climb 40 ft up to my stand I hug that tree ,well climbing pegs pretty good.

Adk ya can't fix stupid, wife mumbles that all the time..some of my most enjoyable moments of fishing were watching guys trying to launch or take out a boat.Sometimes on a hot summer day all sorts of things can POP out, when least expected.. -

'90 Penn Yan 245 Contender - Merry Christmas to me!
ray koziatek replied to FleetTracker's topic in This Old Boat
their are 2 leaves in the engine compartment...ya better dump it fast,I'll give ya 1100.00 and 2000.00 for the beat up used trailer....Don't sweat the salt most everyone who fishes salt water (almost everyone) takes the time to rinse off their gear and boat, from the looks of the engine compt.(other than the leaves) LOL. It looks taken care of pop the nav. light covers as they suffer the worst abuse ..just a little common sence electrical connection inspections and some work with the wifes toothbrush and yer good to go.. From here on out hid all reciepts from you know who...Good for you! -

trust me the bucks will call the thick cover "Home" a mature doe in heat will know what she needs and goes to the big bucks yes they will move about at night and even follow the doe wherever she goes but will do his best to keep her still and not move much......a receptive mature doe will not run from a big buck when she is ready...mature does breed first (usually) because they understand whats happening to them,,which means they drop their young ones eariler than the later breeding ones...The Petical growth in the first year of a buck is the most important factor in growing the maximum rack allowed by its genes.also you need a good mineral block in the buck area do some research on antler growth and minerals ...never ever hunt their mineral area..In april, may and june take note of how many bucks you see hit along the road.......they aint chasing does they are licking the minerals spread along the road in the winter as do many other animals. Just like us all animals need salt and minerals....Farm bucks do get bigger racks from the grain but mostly becaus of the minerals replaced to the soil by the farmer...and absorbed from the feed. perfect example is this pic this buck scored over 500 in and is 3.5 years old yes some carefull gene selection helped but a secret mineral feed was the number 1 reason for the mass...(my close friend was life long friends with the guy who owned this deer}......
