jeff your right on the newer tips the roller recesses behind the sides ,a lot of my stuff was hand me downs from the 50 and60's solid brass with replaceable bronze bushings but with a small gap to the sides that ate my first wire attempt with rollers i have 5 or 6 replacement rollers ,screws, and bushings if anyone needs to rebuild the old style ....

couple things to help ,make shure your fish ID is off with eagle and bottomline this makes your ability to mark "hooks" and lines (fish) much better, make shure your ASP is off or as low as you can set it and still show good screen,,,,,SENSATIVITY as high as you can without dotting up the screen,,,,, the last setting i can think of this early i just dicoverd last week on another boat is go to black background (nightscreen) now this last one you might want to wait till you get used to the (hook) screen,,,,, most units will advertise HIGH speed well if you ant shooting through the hull(fiberglass only) it usually is pretty hard to see fish at speeds above 10mph some people with smooth bottoms (the boats bottom tom)can get a decent picture above that its 7 mphish on my boat alum. with rivets.. also if your not interested in the high speed stuf keep your transducer flat or 1 click back towards the balls with 200kh and you might see a follower ior the hookup ,,,niow thats fun .. thats where a 50kh (wider cone)payes for itsself...................................theres that guy waving again in the last photo above ,,fancy sunblocker (towel) Mark ,try a strip of "S" clete dblside taped to the top of your unit and slip in a pice of thin cardboard (ceral box)trimmed for screen or use duct tape (if you can find some)

i kinda like my ugly stick broom handle 29.oo bucks at dicks 9.5 ft fished with a 230.00 dollar loomis custom dypsy rod and it suc#ed looked nice but ya wont find one on my boat the heavier rod really comes into play when its bumpy absorbing the heavy pull of the waves and returning a little giving the dypsy that extra kick , the lighter loomis just stayed at a 90deg bend ,flat ,bumpy or fighting fish the rod never flexed much ,,,,but it shure was pretty,,,,might of cost me a big derby fish prefishing the pro/am friday as the only give was the drag no backbone to absorb that sudden pull ,,, go for the stick,,

LIQUID PLUMMER to loosen the bowels ,and drank beer like a IRISH 56.ray started to get a ITCHYBOTTOM, as he was thinking about CHASING TAIL,concerned he might get a SCREAMER he took TIME OUTand pulled pulled on the BIG WEENIE trolling rig much like a HERMIT would do.as they looked at the BLUEWATERS there face got WINDBURN,they looked at eack other saying AREYOUNUTS aimed the LANDINGCRAFT saying to the SLIPBOB, DRAGGINBALLZ all the way in going FLATOUT thats when they realized they were FISHING FOR FUN .. THE END ...........or is it ? -
bob probly shouldnt say anything oh what the heck maybe others will learn from his mistakes he doesnt seem to ,as you know tom doesnt keep his salmon he releases them ,you know the guy who hit a curb 2 weeks ago and slid his axel back 12".well today he set free 250' of cable that ugly 10lb weight and his 210.00 dollar down probe boy PETA has to be happy with him.I think i heard him quoting Homer Simpson HOW COME THINGS THAT HAPPEN TO STUPID PEOPLE KEEP HAPPENING TO ME ? dont wanna mention Toms name or FISHERMAN cause it might embare ass him .. So everyone drive with Two eyes open ,and secure your balls before you run..........

Nice to meet you too sir, take this bit of advise from some one who has had 3 close calls with death and am goinging over the hill aug 6 th and has seen many of his friends put in the ground well before there time.."Life is short everyday IS a blessing " some people think of nothing of peeing out $15.00 of beer or more at bar prices but get upset over a $15.00 spinny, fly lost.I dont like loosing my stuff specially the last hot spinny on the boat no more than the next guy. had a swivel fail on a new hoochie mama forcing me to change to a diff. spinnie that put us into a double mode to save our butt in the last 45 min saturday. One can be competive and have fun too, dont wait for your close call to realize this everything happens for a reason be optamistic and hope for a good reason....it will be..........Ray K. -

that is a common occurance on lamoka and waneta lakes too,(small and shallow also) the locals refer to it as the lake cleaning its self you already know the bad news the fishing stinks too, the good news it dont last long and the bite will get agressive as the lake settels out..congrats on your finish.
