  1. Ive looked over yer x ray with mixed results ,it appears their is early signs of arthritus , in the first two joints ,with advanced hookitus in the end joint ,gonna need asprin for the first two ,and about 12 shots of Jack Daniels for the end .. Also it appears your hook could use proper sharpening for better hook set. Hope This Helps!!
  2. SHHHHHH my spindocter collection is almost complete..
  3. Arrgh gambler first lakers now eels.. whats left Gobies and zebra clams...
  4. Well its getting to that time and ill say it again,,,,in the lake bleed em on a stringer ,gut em and gill to if you can....pack on ice (not in ice water) whel i fillet i cut the belly meat to the bottom of the ribs so now ya got a 6 or 8 in wide (top to bottom ) filet. then do the final skin removal and go light on pressure so 90% of the lateral line stays on the skin then do a "V" cut to remove all of latteral line, then ill cut the pin bones out.its not the prettiest filet but all the crap is gone and what ya got left is good as eating as you can get from fresh water salmon... PS 2 or 3 days in the fridge tends to taste better also, dont know why. Stream run get bad reviews mostly because guys let em soak in 70 deg water for 4 or 5 hours after the good morning run.....I still bleed out and take em to the van and pack in ice....they actually taste better due to the fact they have stopped eating for the last few weeks and all the strong baitfish oils have passed and sorta cleaned from system, have ya ever heard of putting fresh clams in cornmeal water to flush out the sand? Kinda sorta same princable...now if ya think yer gonna get a nice meal from a old groudy beat up fish, stop on the way home when ya see a nice bloated deer and have surf and turf...
  5. Ive never had much success after sundown, some say they have had limited success....Unless its yer only time ya got i might save my gas...if ya live right on the lake give it a try. MAKE shure yer 100% familure with your port of departure if yer Gps fails all the lights start lookin the same 2 miles offshore, any moter problems and their ant many boats to help, also some of those go fast boats tend to let loose after dark between bar stops tho they seldom go far off shore. But ive spent many a clear,no moon night 2 to 3 miles off shore just enjoying the stars and quiet air ,,no wind of course...

  9. Nick ,I think (hope) your "spark" may have started a flame on "our lake",, It will be very hard to TOP the quality of "Sodus Bay Healing Waters".. but im shure it will be deemed contagious.... P.S. Lets not forget ARNIES MARINA who gave up so much precious space in thieir short and busy season, Im in for pitching in a few bucks for a nice wall plaque..for their service..Im headin to the Bath VA on the 9th and it seems their was something i saw at the store their that might work ,with your approval of course..
  10. Nice job sir. (Team) Musky and I pulled some salmon outa sodus fri. that shuda gone 24 to 25 lbs but the scales said 20 to 22...we gutted at sea ,eggs were of good size but every belly was empty and the meat seemed very firm for this time of year... (maybe the lack of rain has them dehydrated )

  14. just a little reminder that some repairs should be left to Us professionals. The true cause of this disaster is not known at this time but maybe it all could of been avoided had this job been performed by someone familure with the proper procedures of working with GAS.. Even to me its hard to imagine the explosive force of natural Gas.............. http://www.the-leader.com/news/x4422316 ... live?img=2
  15. Well here i sit all broken hearted tried to fish but only farted! Many if not all uf us knew not what to expect as daybreak came upon us today..Maybe in the back of my mind I expected to see Military ambulances, pull in the parking lot with men wraped in fresh bloody bandages, hobblin to our event on crutches.....And maybe that what was we were looking at but 5 to 50 years later..No our HEROS did bear the evedence of fresh wounds ,but of wounds of a Hero who has seen and experenced things many of us Captians have only seen in the movies... What we did see come to us was a group of friends connected by the miseries of war. Who were offered the chance by the Generious efforts Of "Bobs Boy" to experience the joy we so often take for granted of fishing Lake Ontario.. First and formost I must say "Bobs Boy" is not a person but a team...And after seeing Nick walk in circles with the coffee pot, extension cords and a can of coffee trying to figure out how it works it was clear thier was another driving force in making this event work. Threasa (The Team Leader) was organizing sign in,running back and forth to the boat unloading boxes, from their car, gettin the cooks lined up handing out rules, supplied me with some Tums , telling arriving sponcers where to place goods ,ect,ect....yes after much fustration Nick was well on his way of making his first pot of coffee.. Then Our Heros started to arrive , with some leaving at 4am to reach their start of another day in their life ,none complained ,and it was clear to us the visable healed over burns, artifical limbs , were some of the phycical wounds we saw but the ones we couldnt see were of no lesser importance ,as war effects many within as well as on the outside... We welcomed them all with open arms and from what i saw our "OPEN HEARTS" yes WE were part of the much healing still needed and appreciated by OUR MEN.. Well over night Ma(mother nature) reversed the fan and the NE wind WAS A south blow by morning, along with a pressure change and a full moon ,Catching was very poor to say the least with almost 1/2 of the field not bringing one fish to the dock..with my heart (and pride) heavy with the lack of fish in our boat For My Assigned HERO, His words were well "Thats Fishing"..Maybe i was the one being healed, as the words from a man who had both legs removed by a land mine, sorta made my feeling of not getting a fish seem so very trivial. I digress!! Overall the event was a great sucess for all , with new friends ,great food great prizes and support by so many wonderfull sponcers and hard workin people ... But somehow i think their were really TWO that started the ball rolling. Nick and Threasa , I hope you are relaxin ,and basking in the satisfaction you not only change the lifes of Our HEROS with your hard work. but you just opened a bunch of eyes and hearts ,Of those who particapated.. GOD BLESS YOU!!!!and God Bless America and all those who have sacrificed so much for Us...... Ray K. PS Nick when the coffee is gone unplug the coffee maker...
  16. nuttin better..
  17. thanks jerm. been thinkin how you were doing....gettin some new fishing gear??? helmet, facemask, full body armor and leather gloves....Thank God it wernt yer eye......from the looks of the first place ya went to,ya might as well of had me rip it out...I actually have a curved hook remover that slides down the shaft and covers the barb .......Nice Hookset tho.
  18. Yes he is the man!!
  19. Musky and i will be gettin a tad late start tomorrow what channel???
  20. sorry man our first est (Nicks) was 10 boats so he only ordered in 30 and saved me (us) 10 but had 7 more on the hook last i knew it was 15 boats so thats all i picked up were the 15..these are very precise but any scale is tuff on a moving boat,,and they dont take the direct sun well for long periods I burnt up 2 in the driveway in the last 5 years.. my bad.. The company is very generous to the "wonded Worrier " projects all across the U.S.A. .Almost every rider in every country rides his wheels and uses his system..His wheels are on almost every bike in the olimpics also ....I forgot to ask how many riders they have sponcered this olimpics... Im proud of my brother his Inventions have baffeled the best engeniers in the bike industry...Back in the day 70's when he raced for artic cat he built the first "expansion chambered exhaust system " in his garage and held the east coast snowmobile champion ship till they stoled his invention and he just walked away....from them ..If i was him, now that he has a couple dollars I would at least set the record straight why artic cat was such a winning company in the 70,s,,,,,, But he is too busy workin on the next Invention in the bycycle world.......And hunting of course..not bad for a bairly 12th grade edubacation. Only now to find out """HE DIDNT DO THAT!"" well acording to ding dong ..
  21. also have a large extra cooler and will bring some 5 gal buckets for a carcase run if needed, and some 1 gal zip locks if anyone wants to bring fish home
  22. kinda late nick but if ya see something ya need for the event ill put in a hundred bucks ,for our men...just pick it up and ill payup tomorrow...
