2012 Sandy Creek Shootout Teams List
ray koziatek replied to Silver Fox's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
Casey and I were gonna get in but, it looks like i created more enmies than friends trying to support the Pro/ams..Hope all goes well. -
I tried to get in but the check i was waiting for didnt arrive till tuesday ,and when i spoke to Chris he said it was to late to signup.. Yes i knew of the deadlines. If I was alone i would of gone to weighin at sodus ,But Casey wasnt feeling well so we came straight home and when ya trailer Downtown Sodus ant the best spot to park the boat and van hooked up. Its not that "I" want instant results, When was Osweago???? As far as "not" being in it and still wanting to follow The Teams Ive met over the years ,Yes that is a little selfish...But again It Has Nothing to do with me. I suppose if i wer a "nascar fan" i wouldnt mind waiting 1 2 or 3 weeks after the last race to see how "my "driver did. I was always tought when you run a event "Every decision made has to be for the benifit of those involved " maybe I was Lernt wrong.. I'm pretty shure all 11,000 members on this site didnt get in the pro am , BUT their is a "2%" rule when advertising...that means 2 outa 100 will respond.. If the pro/am is running to its max capisity fine ,it was my understanding it was shrinking ,So i tried to give some "positive " input from a outsiders point of view... With todays technology and some of the tallented kids" Puter Nerds" Ill bet they could whip up a few or many cool photos that might get e few on this site excited enuf to give the Pro/Am's a try... I live less than 100 miles from L.O. and never in 45 years did i ever hear of the Pro/Am's Till I found this site. L.O.U...Guess it was sorta stupid of me to think Maybe 1 or two people outa 11,000 might have a intrest ... In closing ,if every "well if you want results maybe you should go to weighin" or "if you ant in it why even care" ... Just dont sound like th kinda post that might get someone "more" excited about checkin out the Pro/Ams.. Without a doubt the "Best Time I've Had Fishing Lake Ontario Was In The Pro /Ams" As I always say "Give Em A TRY you wont be dissapointed"

Oak Report 7/21
ray koziatek replied to Captain Carl Bish's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Good for you Carl after reading some of yer latest post i thought you forgot everything i tought you...hmm maybe you did and thats why you did so well this last trip.. Its never fun when the fish wont play specially with clients... it shure puts a hurtin on yer heart when everyone on board cant reel some in,,,,Unless of course they left breakfast on the deck -
Wow Tail tales, Maybe i misread my post... I thought I said I Love the Pro/Ams...that includes everything about them..Yes I know of the woman you speek of and EVERY SODUS derby i make it a point to go to her sign in line give her that {Ray K.)hard time then as she looks bewilderd(scared maybe)I walk around the table give her a hug and Thank Her for What she does.. I,m shure you do too. When I was eating at Abes 2 or 3 weeks ago I asked if he was donating his(precious) Parking lot ,again for the Pro/Am ...Even tho i couldnt afford to particapate this year I shook his hand and personally thanked him for what he does for the Pro/Am...I'm shure you do too.. Ever sence my first Pro/Am I have posted Posative reports and Encourged Everyone to give them a try at least once..as it not only adds a boost to the local economy, but you will meet some GREAT people who share the same desire of competative fishing.....I'm shure you do too... Even when a Osweago ex sponcer pulled out for reasons unknown to me and started bashing the Pro/Ams I sent him a PM and posted in public my dislike of him Bashing a event If he isnt gonna be part of it...I'm shure you did too! Yes brian due to health and finacial issues I can't be part of (my) beloved Pro/Ams ,but if i can toss in a few suggestions ,and not to seemingly to hard to do to improve the Pro/Ams ,I thought I might add some friendly advise . ....But I'm shure you do too! So If anyone else thought my post was so outa line you feel the need to jump on me just use a PM... It is the NEGATIVE public display that can only hurt any event..And that is the furthest thing I would like to see happen To My Beloved Pro/Ams.....I'm shure you feel the same way.. Ray K. 1987 beatup alum 22ft sylvan cannon used 2nd hand riggers 3 pieced togeather from 5old ones whatever spoon I can afford,, many years old. old style Eagle fish finder not much power but all i can afford Flys...atomic,bigweenie,siggs Riggs...I got a bunch of them too. Thanks for the positive imput im shure anyone reading your post can feel the warmth and concern you have towards the Pro/Ams,heck ill bet 40 more teams will enter next year just to meet you!! P.S. It is my love of the Pro/Ams i posted my post... and I'm shure it was your intention too!

2012 Sodus Bay Healing Waters Salmon Slam - August 4th
ray koziatek replied to TOP SECRET's topic in Open Lake Discussion
UM not that it ever happened before but what if a boat smells like skunk.......We Have a bigger goal here and our reward is what we are doing ,BUT it would be pretty bad for every boat not to land fish.. I would LOVE to have open "mic " Mandatory or suggested . If someone has a great lure or spot or both lets share the info so every one of these men can share the experence we all have done.."Catchin Fish" .. If someone (captian) runs charters outa Sodus and has a must have lure or presentation maybe they could PM others (and me) what to start out with and where ...The lake is pretty riled up now and if things dont improve over sundays conditions it would be nice to up"" OUR BOYS""" chances of landing the BIG ONE Ray K. -
Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS Well the words "TUFF FISHING"" (CATCHING) .. Could summirise our trip. Sat I went east and set up in 55fow....within minutes a 25 lbr takes off testing my drag...Well my son was still asleep in the cabin so like any good dad I didnt disturb him ... .. After double checkin i wasnt tossin back a derby (loc) fish ,,I reset....OOOOKKK a double ahhh let the poor kid sleep a decent 19 lbr and a 5 lbr get tossed 19 lbr in the lake 5 lbr in the cooler...got 2 more 5 lbrs and a 14 lbr.. By 0730 alone ....so I chased boats left my spot only to have Casey bring in 1 19 lbr later ...never got a good evning bite billions of baitfish, musta tasted better than steel... Sunday went west nuttin for a hour pulled an ran back to my spot ,.................DONT ASK IM POLISH...............dont know why i went west.. within 5 min hit and release ..as i reset port ,starboard fires and starts rippin ,picked up the rod gave a tiny hookset tightned drag a tad and set it in the rodholder ... the fish ripped 200 ft without slowing down so i thought it might be big....went back to resetin port stacked setup. when done the line counter was over 600 ft ...just as i was gonna enjoy a nice fight Casey wakes up..... so i give him the rod for a spunky 19 lbr.. had one other good rip about 11am and quit at noon...well we tried to put up a derby fish but mama nature stirred the pot thursday and friday kinda made for some tuff catchin.. =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================

Got home from a 2 day trip trying to beat out the 1st place salmon in the Loc. Yea Jerry We were gunning for ya but rooting for ya too!!! Hey I heard "Vince" came up short 1- 20 lb downrigger weight, did ya have him do the polygraph? Anyways at around 5pm i look at the LOC page and their are all the results, pics, all the good info to get new and old fishermen and girls pumped up for the Fall Derby..Very Cool And Very Fast Results.(except that bully beating out my friend......and His).. So then I go to the NEW PRO/AM site to check out the results.... Niagra , orleans, yea their s some info...Osweago hmmmmm,,,,maybe the dont have internet their yet,,,,,oh well let me check Sodus.....Hmm no internet their either... Guess I'll have to depend on the great reports from Good O'le L.O.U. Geese with a "SITE LIKE L.O.U." with over 11,000 fishermen members, to bad their wasn't some way they could get a report ya know sorta a way to reach out to those who might have a intrest .. Geese "Bobs Boy" has discovered a way to post online from his boat...maybe them new fancy phones and them computer thingys could replace the 1-Day film development service at walmart...and replace the "Pony Express" riders who must still be on their way with the results heading to the secret fort where the reports come from... I love the Pro/Ams...it just went a little too Pro,for my wallet. So please view my report as advise with a comical bashing. The new score boards look good .......Um but the open score board might benifit from a "straight edge" Yes ,Yes all little details that take time, and volenteers I know I ant no newbie to running tournements.( I helped run the National Cinderalla Softball Association for 10 years ) 6 tournements in 6 weeks with over 2500 girls per event.. with full reports every day for all involved and info sent to local media for next day overview.. You guys have a lot of work for these events and I thank You for all the great friends and times I had ''''FISHING THE PRO/ AM DERBYS""" I wonder how sucessful (winning) teams would do if they didnt pay attention to details when fishing......sometimes the little things mean a big difference.. With Love and Support for The PRO/AMS Ray K.

ohh another challenger signs up... -
usually 3 days to get "close to normal".what we had was for a couple weeks was't normal it was phenomonal...........those conditions dont happen for extended length of time very often..If you noticed some of the Charters reports ,they wern't exagerating when they said it was the "Best" fishing in 20 years..yup ya done got spoiled (in a good way) ,,Dont hang yer head too low Lakewide the lake was great 3 days later LAKEWIDE the fishing got a little tuff..,,to say the least.. Gentle winds dont "mess things up too bad" you get a extreme "blow" in any direction then ya better get yer "Divining Rod" out... A Good example get a bucket (or use yer toilet flush first) swirl the water counterclokkways and stick yer finger in it that - gentle blow some disruption in "givin area" now give it a good swirl again (not swig) this time put yer hand in there and move it clockways,,does ya see any difference?? when LO does that, the whole temp.(thermocline) and the food chain gets all pooped up too (I told you to flush first)

great customer service with these spoons from bob fuller
ray koziatek replied to cheese's topic in Tackle Description
maybe ill have to waddle over yer way and dig through yer stuff pm me yer addy im in elm a lot,,Hey was thinking of gettin a Charter Trip,Do ya know any good ones in the Rochester area...?? -
If its breakin on the first hit and run gotta be knot ya tied OR knot in line from not checking leader ...you will be suprised how laying a leader down for 1 sec and ya pickit back up and ya pulled it through its self and made a knot...specially sliders...dont be afraid to "test" yer knots after running them a while..Like mark said a dry knot in the water going through all kinds of stress and temp change will slip and cut the line or just untie on its own....If ya would quite messin with those overgrown pickerals you would know this stuff by now!! P.S. the river system feeding the Chemung is super low you know them big 5ft hybreds ant got many holes to hide in...I,ve seen some allagators over the years that almost scare ya ive never targeted them but some locals get some over 45 in.. I know one Ive seen was close or over 5 ft
-
probly gonna be tuff catchin either way..fish the temps ..what was in 140 ft might be in 40fow
-
yea its called a 5.00 bill.
