  1. dude another 8 hrs in the reviver coulda put some gas in the boat....good for you being honest...we tossed one sat that should of made the board ,but we didnt wanna hurt a fish that would of been in last place at best...
  2. should be a friction knob at the end of the handle...or make one of these viewtopic.php?f=4&t=32714
  3. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW Well after a couple guys bailed I needed a fishing partner or 2 .. Well a couple kids (25yrs) saw my post and gave me a call.. After submitting DNA sample at dock, they thought they would be safe with me...(back in the day we watched MTV, now their watching C.S.I. ) geese. Well i went for my oll stompin grounds "The Flats" with little sucess, few hits no takers, couldnt stand it and ran to 28.5 line .. Droped in on a 6/8 lb steelie and yup them kids stole the rods.. . After a few circles and a couple more fish I still hadnt touched a rod except to set up. pointed it south and trolled to 150 ft nap time... Well by now its the witching hour (4pm) for the evining bite to start to set up ..were 6 mi west with beautiful green water loaded with fish , yup I blew it in the am ,woulda ,shulda, coulda...gone west....Well that water made up for the long slow outside stuff , we could of spanked the steelies offshore but i was lookin for that big boy king...Many singles and one double and those brats still didnt let me reel if one fish ,,in the evining bite ..We pulled the rods at 530 a first for me to quite early but the kids didnt nap well and they had a 3 hr drive ahead of them. I know if we stayed on that green water we could of spanked em till dark ,but the rod hoggin rookies were gettin hungry and started to tear the boat apart lookin for my food stashes.. Yes I trolled for 17miles At The Oak And Didnt reel in one fish , ,but i did bring home 2 nice cohos (my bad guys that first one wasnt a king ) . So I guess for my first time on lake ont. in almost 10 months I didnt do so well........................Or did I? ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====================
  4. Ok after tinkin about the other dypsy /lineout/ topic I pulled my( tattered, copper battled, and 4 year old wire with a few trimmins due to kinks or broken strands) off the minnow... I had a perfect 50 and 100ft markers and here is what i got.... Line counter---------actual footage & difference.....using 3 to 1 dive ratio desired depth I was off: 70---------------------50....20ft...................6ft 140--------------------100....40ft.................13ft 210--------------------150....60ft.................20ft 290--------------------200....90ft.................30ft 370--------------------250....120ft...............40ft 450--------------------300....150ft diff..........50ft After adjusting backin and new wire to the brim of the spool i got these numbers: 60---------------------50.....10ft diff....3ft 120--------------------100...20ft diff....6ft 180--------------------150...30ft diff....10ft 250--------------------200...50ft diff....16ft 310--------------------250...60ft diff....20ft 380--------------------300...80ft diff....26ft Both reels were noticably down on the spools before rewiring and backing adjustments. guess I'll have to make a chart on the boat to keep track of actual line out vs counter...those numbers wernt exactly what i read 60 was 61.5 120 was 122 ect ect i just rounded the line counter to nearest 10 ft but all were within 3 ft of rounded numbers.. so i guess they wernt where i been thinking they were, might help explain my dypsy bite being a little slower for the last few years... Like I say "Always Learing Or Never Learing" Today I lernt something...
  5. Ya know now that the hair is slippin from my head, the oll back is creakin, ect, ect I was thinkin bout offerin my services helpin new guys get their feet wet..maybe gas money and 1 or 2 fish for pay...on yer boat of course...
  6. hmm leave fish to find fish..hey if ya find the big boys ill loc fish outa sodus tomorrow..udderwise im headin to the oak..
  7. ya know i was just thinkin about the diver /vs/ wire out (ft),,I know what seems to be for me is 3 to 1 with over 100 ft of line out...then i gota thinkin i ant never did a accurate counter/actual line out , test .. we all know the accuracy of line counters depends on the amount of line on the spool, and then when yer talkin 250,300ft line out if yer off by 1 or 2 in average thats a pretty good discrepency in depth.. just thinkin out loud..... Think this morning i will do a actual measurment ,compared to my counter...thanks
  8. here this will give ya some reading ,while yer just sittin on yer butt doing nuttin.. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=32704
  9. I agree with wiping him out. or..move his boat to a different marina in the night,,,anchor it across the creek so he has to swim to it,,padlock a 200 lb weight off his bow eye,,,rewire auto piolet to do tight turns and circles every 20 min...and someone have his truck towed away if he makes it out so he will miss weighin ...that should level the field a tad..
  10. UM musky ment does she have a granny...
  11. Id go to attheoak to see if anyone has recently posted down temp,,,shottin from the hip run to 100 ft and drop er down empty (no pole ) if ya wanna check temp... as for me id read some recent post and start in that depth ..IE if 50 ft was good start their in the am and slide a bit ....looks like250fow was pretty steady picin for the last week ....i dont focus too much on the 40 deg thing 55 deg will hold any fish for a short time ...if ya got 70 deg at 80 fow id be runnin to 250 to 300 fow and look for the temp break out there. id rather be 25 ft above a fish than 25ft below(eyes see up natural) thats why a start in the 55 deg range..i run the probe most of the time now so ya can adjust as you move in or out for the good down temp/depth... in the early am dont be afraid to drop in at 60 deg if yer markin good fish ..if you were cookin a hotdog over a open fire and it fell in where you could grab it and get out you would (well musky would) you wouldnt wanna keep yer hand in the heat for long ,,,just like a big king dont like the warm water for extended periouds of time they will dart in their and grab the weenie
  12. works for sharks in the ocean most fish are not canabals
  13. REDNECK THROTTLE CONTROL...YA CAN EVEN BUY THEM LITTLE TURTLE AND RABBIT STICKERS FER YER CREW TO FIGURE IT OUT EASIER!!! their thats why yer crew gets sick lookin at that opps mine is at the back of the boat but SOMEDAY i will make one for up front too...
  14. here is my less than 10.00 setup...probly should make little kits and sell them for the more mechanicly challanged... this was just a quick expermint that worked ok so i didnt do any upgrades now that i know it works ok SOMEDAY i'll do a couple changes for better performance..... throttle was from tractor supply store ,end near carb is the end of a bycycle cable near the derailer so i had the threaded end to fasten to moter bracket {scrap or steal off your kids bike)..... removed tiller handle and zip tied kill switch where ya see it ......bing bang ya got yer 10.00 trhottle without showin yer plummers crack every adjustment... mooning:

  16. Cant offer you a answer but thats been done as I see. Just a little reminder to everyone "back off the drags between trips" some disc and drag systems can take the abuse, but most factory drags can form a memory with time ..And I assure you it wont fail in the driveway, nuttin worse than failure when you need it...

Of course the weather and our busy busy itinerarys will determin if we can help, hey even Fishermen could flip a few burgers. Yes Team L.O.U.S.E.R.S. MIGHT Rise to the ocasion When Duty Calls. And at one time I had a big sponsor lined up for another derby, when you get final plans and everything in place get me some paperwork, as to what you need. Ray K. U.S.M.C. AIRWING..
