Hey welcome aboard ,,,well yer starting out on some very rewarding lakes....I might suggest ,Seneca and Cayuga for yer "training" grounds plenty of fish and very predictable.. If i wernt heading to some warmer stomping grounds in a few days ,Id invite ya for a eye opener winter fishing trip where 10 to 40 fish days are the norm (with 2 rods)...and I would strongly suggest a day with this guy it will be worth every penny you spend trust me.... Hookedup charters Sean Is one of the best,, http://www.reelhookedup.com

yup that time of year when the temps drop so does yer tire pressure so before you load up the family please check your tires. Do your part on keeping the holidays safe and uneventful......And let the highlight of your Christmas be, uncle Musky stumbling into the Christmas tree and walk around with a bow on his head. With love and concern ,Ray K.

well if ya got exp.with riggers ...no if your just learning then ya got some great tangles ahead of you..start out with 2 .. Driver control is critical with tight riggers. toss in depth of riggers, cross currents, leader length, wind, and turns and ya gots yer hands full..shallow trolling 50ft and above ant to bad with good weather conditions...3 should be plenty 99% of the time 2 outside and swivel 1 to center if yer booms are long enuf...like i said boat control is critical....Id suggest 2 good dypsy setups to spread things out.....if yer totally new to great lakes fishing id suggest www.attheoak.com and go to fishing tips and do some reading this winter,it will help you understand some "terms or words" we use fishing and WILL save ya some costly tackle ,fustration and time after a long drive.....

No Mark that big hole was a 7 pt I got Last day of rifle ....It was standing in brush 70 yds the .270 musta hit a small tree just before entering the buck it was where i aimed and did blow the heart...but the round (sorta quartering to me) actually made that hole that is the entry hole... I do have some "field" pics of my bros deer but it was 8pm before i found this one ...It was a tuff shot due to standing behind a log ,all i had was head, neck, top of front shoulder , i took the neck, but a offhand 80 yd rush shot (them big boys dont wait for ya to get all stable when yer still hunting and their lookin at you)....i put a hole in his neck just forward of the windpipe.....It bled like a stuck pig but took me on a 5 to600 yd trail in the rain to find him....we drug it to the pipeline and had to go get my dads golf cart to retrive it ..we were like 2 kids driving in the dark with a flashlight to light our way..then had to use the bag straps to hook it to the cart for the ride back to the house.. So this year we drug out our side by side buck, doe, put em both in a canoe and the 4 of us crossed the river (rather low free board) , took the 2 of us to drag his Bear (225lbs) 500 yds to a trail where his neighbor used his front bucket tractor to save 2 heart attacks(US)....... ....so we racked up a few more memories than the average year but when ya give 2 kids over 54 guns and send em hunting who knows what will happen...gosh i should of kept a journal over the years -
Oh no not another NJ guy....sorry to prejudge you but some other guy named pete has been giving NJ a bad name... Welcome home the info you seek is all here but spread out .....over the winter most questions you have will be asked by others, and answered ..... As the old saying goes is the only dumb question is the one not asked....

And a couple Bow mistakes... My brother and I have been playing in the woods for the last 40 yrs off and on. When we combine forces not too much is safe out there.... This year the buck I tinked my stand on (with bow) stood in front of me and gave me the butt wink,I let it walk to my bro as he has moved many deer for me over the years tho this is 2 yrs in a row for him (mounters). After he shot I popped a doe and we cleaned the 2 100 ft apart........then he got a bear tho 40 lbs lighter than mine ,his first too. I wacked a 7 pt tho small rack was a mature deer I needed a gun buck along with doe 2.. yesterday I went to my secret spot I never go to during reg season and saw 16 doe and a decent buck with the smoke pole,so i grabbed the buck...Ill save last doe tag for the corn feed ones..... Oh I got him into bow hunting after a 30 yr lull and he also got the 11 pt i posted earlier His first year... nuttin like another hunting adventure year with yer own brother Im trully blessed to have him....
