  1. Ok,Ok,OK,OK,howie 2 times really doesnt make yer post anymore effactive but I hope you get to the docter soon I dont wanna catch any virus you might have ........course the one you have takes many, many, many, many years to catch so I am told..................viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24520
  2. will their be a 4 largest men per boat prize???? Tom,musky, jason and me boys put the feed bags on now were gonna smoke the derby,,,,,hmm talkin to jerry after the winter feed he might be a large obstacle ,,, ,,,,,,naa larry and chad wont break 200lbs togeather.
  3. hmm yea No one seems to get arrested for "water cannons"guess that would be a fun option crank out a 1" stream for a few seconds might wake up captian and crew to your presence..
  4. Iyy Yiii Iyy,,, Ive done a couple pro /ams....first of all the observer is a must, yes to the perfectly honest man on a great bite day that fish which must be kept tho only 1/2 in longer than min would never slip outa some ones hand.. " Now saying that the only other option would be to call in "fish on" every hookup have a onboard camera to prove entire fight and at weigh in we could wait in line while the judges review each 6 hr video before accepting final weight. The observers duty is very important and capt meetings are a must for the new ones or at least have a "rules change sheet " the experianced observer could review and sign I dont remember 1complaint from a observer (specially at wilson) wher they are treated with some great food ,service, and company..Its a great social event and gives us a chance to see old friends and shake hands with FAMOUS CAPTIANS LIKE "CAPT.JERRY" from "running regulary" opps" Running Rebel". The 100.00 does give some of us one more "complaint"when we dont finish in the money ,but in hind site most of us drop more money in tackle, hunting trips, vacations, without expectations of winning a 5000.00 shoppin spree or guarnteed a record buck each year. Ive had several observers turn down the money which is a " Thank You for your time" Gift . not a set fee . (tho we had 1 ask for more ) never fished a "no com." derby being a newbe to the lake but i deffinatly see the benifits.. Ahh yes a field of 30pluss amatures with non com., and a great payout might get some of us "butt and head scratchers" interested again...were all lookin at the perfect tool (puter) to reach out to a concentrated fishing community 7000 members with 20 am teams,,,
  5. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/30465.html how about 2011 too!
  6. Way to go pops, Glad to see yer repayin for all that help on the boat,,,,,or was that what the cans were for?

  8. sounds like something "Grunning greble" ,would do....keep yer eye out for a heavly listing boat herd that guys does a lot of circles...think the list is kinda like a worn out mattress,, just so much weight on one side for so long it ant never going back..
  9. hmm purple in the spring......I'm surprised ,,,, next youll be saying watermellon, and rasberry worked too..(28's) . some colors never change despite all the "newest and greatest" color combanations.. one of the beauties of spring fishing....the bigger fish are still a little comfy with company runnin togeather.. ....and so are the little ones.... ,,, Hey i have a nice 3 mil. wetsuit and mask if ya wanna keep one on board till the water warms a tad Thanks fer yer report hope ya are willing to post some numbers (gps) next friday ,,you know just so everyone will know where ya are so noone will tangle any lines... looks like ill be sittin out the derbys this year Pro/Ams now that ive got a taste of freedom..but i might borrow my friends sailboat just to sail around you guys to see how yer doing Nice repert.

  13. What a beautiful pic,,,,,that one better go in a frame..... Congrats you two...(3)
  14. Lets see tho I was outa state this year acording to many of my friends from Millport(town on the creek) ,this was the best run of healthy big fish they have seen sence they were kids 40 yrs ago which means record number of small fry in creek right now...and for those who remember the days of scooping smelt by the 1000 s and the smelt population started to decline in the early 80s to non existent or very very few if any today ...kinda makes a dumb non edgeabucated plummer like me if their timing might be a little STUPID............na me justa plummer..............."""""".Some minor fish and aquatic invertebrate mortality is expected and may be visible."""""
  15. Man the fish in that one pic has me hungry (the smelt not the salmon)
  16. HEY they have feelings too!!! its too cold for that now they like 70 deg water...geesh
  17. Jimski yer right tho the steelie pop seemed to explode after the 1 fish limit i havent spent 1 nickle to spring fish sence the law change....it would make more sence to some dum plummer like me to make a few of the smaller "great spawning" streams off limits ..Their are a few feeder, great spawning streams into Cathrine creek that are visited 99% by booters and rippers.if left off limits would increase the rainbow pop.100xs the new 1 fish perposal for that stream too.....but i ant got no colage edgeabucation to proove that....but their is one feeder that runs through private land below millport that the owner wont even let his kids fish or disturbe the spawning rainbow (for the last 30 yrs) I would be willing to bet those unstomped beds have produced more fry than the entire rest of the creek....Ps Ive lived for opening day on Cathrine for the last 30 years and see what happens to the "big" spawning fish...trust me they never see the lake again
  18. Man im glad you mentioned the lobster thing ,"rockfish" (Chesapeak term for striper) makes the best "poor mans lobster" tho if your lucky enuf to find this fish in a store its 2x the price of lobster (bout 20.00 a lb),,,,next time it will be a little more camping with a pan of boiling water and some butter while fishing... PS. found this hudge set of sweat pants in the van , says made in russia by olmar the tent maker....must be one of you guys . their is a laundrymat down the street that has one of those mega washers ill clean the racing stripe ,and stinky sweatshirts too PM me a addy to send them............unless im forced to take another trip to the hudson to return them to you guys..........now thats a story the wiffy will belive
  19. with the overhand it also alows for a tight connection to the spinny for the best fly action gives it a better whip makes a big (not hudge) difference in action ...as does the stiffer line used by the "pro" (not me tom).....Tom pretty much has a proven,tested,tested,tested....fly setup, line combanation bigger or smaller line does not work as well as the factory setup....At least for me and trust me ive experminted with many novel (ok maybe stupid) different things over the years for that newest secret thing..............I now own more atomic flys than one man should,BUT FOR A GOOD REASON........ They work and when I spend my money time and effort to fish I want catching into the trip.. In OMG 10 years (time flys no pun) ive been skunked 3 times...partly due to Toms research on Lake Ontario..
  20. Im on team "BLOWUP" with my 3 inflatable girls,,,,er um partners.
  21. aw man put me on the spot where ya fishin out of this weekend ,i could probly part with 1 or 2 fish shaped weighhts i make can even bump em up to 11 to almost 12 lbs keepin the mold a tad loose,,if ya wanna drive to corning i might have a couple items to "pass the torch on" you could use give me a call ...i ant gonna die withthe most toys with guys like you around... 607 769 7947
  22. streach yawn ,,HUH, opps was out playing myself (not with) chasin some "rockfish" NOT BASS (anymore), Even tho the bass i chase can reach the 70lb pluss class and fight like a freight train ,well you know just like a 8lb walley figh....... opps .... I now must classify myself a a "ROCKFISH" FISHERMAN to keep from getting poked by the walleye crowd....and hearing "Its Just Another Bass" when sending pics of 25 lb fish that actually figh....opps So have great day dispite our lowly "bass fisherman lable" and if ya want to get a convoy headin to some great ROCKFISH catchin give me a call im shure i can put ya on one or two 8 lbrs without running 100miles if the fog on the water to catch 2 fish ,opps Be a nice relaxin trip with some great fishing (catchin),If that bright thing ever pokes a hole in the clouds above our heads..
  23. My experence with Interference has been in the form of "dots" on the screen ... Im not at all familure with the unit yer using, but most if not all have a "voltage drop protection" built in it really sounds like drop in power,to the unit despite a pretty good tolarence in voltage range (older units).I use 1 battery for everything on my boat with no ill effect .cept main engine at higher rpm 2500 and above(old 75 I/O with points and old style alternator) and no filters inline......maybe it the trollin moter is breakin down,or the new hd units are more sensative to interferrance...id check connections at "wire block" during problem with a hd unit in my future I (we) will be checkin post for final problem....Thanks Ray K.
