  3. no or little blood is common with a rifle ,yer gun will knock em dead all day long, the 243 will shoot great groups (most )...but as you see if it ant a heart or back shot the deer will go a long ways....ive double lunged 2 bucks this year with my muzzy 250 gr tips and both went in excess of 60 yds the one today had 2 quick spots of blood and almost nuthin for the next 50 yds in snow both were a tad high as mentioned above..a poor tracker or lack of snow might have been a lost deer...back to yer rifle i would not plan a trophy trip with that small of calaber it will do but on small patches of private land or diffacult trackin conditions you might regret it, not to mention a bad shot..,,40 years ago i heard some kids shot many deer with .22cal before they got their shotguns and they never lost one ....a .270 will allow you to bump up yer weight a tad ,if money is a issue just keep a good shot your only shot and youll be ok ,,,,,But????

  15. hope those hounds have some snow shoes around the buffalo area..every year ill plink one for the wife to keep her "Grandfathers stories " alive ,the old Itialian who never came home empty handed and her grandma made the best rabbit sauce she ever had.. Ahh how times have changed, but the memories live on for now..My obsession was with grouse usually took a few miles in the woods to get a meal ...Its amazing as i sit here and reflect the details of 20 year ago hunts...yet cant remember the wifes birthday ...good luck and DONT SHOOT OVER THE DOG!!!!!!!!
  16. Well ya done spun the sun one more time .. Ive been thinking about your "wilson invite delema" so for your birthday ill go spend the weekend with your GF for her graduation . Hava good day Jeff, and dont let them girls get tooo smart thell drop ya like a hot pertatter..

  18. Man someone beens watching Myth Busters too much... Im shure all the test are done under 100% perfect conditions,Wire size ,power output, boat speed..to name a few. riggers will all run a little different on each boat if ya wanna sit there with a stopwatch and ruler. Without getting into the small details and misslead folks to think im smarter than a fifth grader, not to mention i cant even spell some of those big words.. But as usual i try to give a example even a construction guy could understand..soooo go out to your car (truck) turn the blower on high turn the key to the "on"" position without starting .......notice blower speed......now start engine hmm the darn thing runs faster....everything from the power charging source to the final rigger wire will effect the speed on every boat in a unperfect world.....even a little re-greasing of the little wheel thingy on the end of the rigger boom can help, not to mention the total ft of wire on the rigger spool...............for derby fishing time can be money,,,but when yer buffy fishing all alone out there it ant too safe to have no high speed cables whipping around yer balls, you might missplace a hook in the exictment..
  19. Geese i ant swearing a aleagence to sailboating just wanna do the trip at minum fuel use ..Ok OK ill put some ore locks on the pegasus but after rowing that for 2400 miles i dont care if i am 3ft 5in tall you all better call me sir or ill punch all yer kneecaps off!!! Actually if i got a small diesel powered ,ripped off the sail and mast Id have room for a above deckclothsline and make some good fuel millage too....or i could buy one down there and sail it back home via lake ontario during the spring derby
  20. Many years ago I had a very small sailboat ..For many years i wanted to sail the intercoastal to flordia..maybe a 26 to 30 ftr. Im getting to that retirement (third childhood) age ,but not too old for another life adventure. Has anyone ever done this trip, and have suggestions to boat size.. I promise to troll the whole way and never loose my common boating sence. nor forget my "Roots"... Still just a tiny thought in the back of the noggen, but with a little wind a spark might become a fire.. Then i can wear a W.A.F.I. hat too.. Wind Assisted Friggin Idiot.

  22. TIM ,you do a lot of good for our fisheries, your family and friends,, We have met at the LOTSA show and here and there ,off the record i preach to a few of my friends that we ant getting no younger , our innards are working 24/7 to keep us alive and the more they work the quicker they wear out... Every year we read about a few surprise "passing of our fishing friends"....... We and your family need guys like you around for as long as possable...so its with the love of a fellow fisherman that i post this!!!! Plus you post some pretty good websites that we all would miss like the recent one Great pics thanks for sharing ..
