In this case the person making the real money decisions is Central office in Albany. The Director for Fisheries and Wildlife is Patricia Riexinger. The email listed for her, is the general fish and wildlife email. So real transparency here....

All legitimate clubs are part of Federations in NYS from that they send representatives to the Conservation Council they are the DEC advisory board. You want to make a difference I would encourage you all to join your local club get involved and become the federation representative for that club. The president for the Conservation council lives in Oswego county so there is regional representation. He was not at the State of the Lake the other night......Squeaky Wheel gets the grease!!! ELOSTA has been looking for a federation rep for 3 years. There are a lot of keyboard jockies out there but very few who step forward to a leadership role. You want change you have to get involved!! I am sure LOTSA has the same positions for the western end of the state.

Great turnout in Pulaski last night. We had 137 on hand. One of the biggest crowds in recent memory. I am digesting all my notes today but I came away with being even more leary of our hatchery situation. This recirculation idea may not be the best. They already have enough issues at the Salmon River hatchery and adding a recirc system will only compound those issues. Funny they have the money for the recirc system but not to spend on the wells which by the way wont get any more attention until the summer of 2016..... I have stopped thinking about asking for more and just pushing to maintain what we have....

Ford vs Chevy is for the Cannon, Scotty debate. Owning Big Jons would be like owning a Toyota...It looks like a truck just doesn't perform like one!

It is that time of the year again! The ELOSTA Tackle Swap will be March 14, 2014 at the Brewerton Fire Hall in Brewerton NY. This is a much bigger venue and it even has a seminar room available. Doors will open at 9am sharp and be open till 2pm in the afternoon. There will be food and drink available for purchase from the fire auxiliary. Pete Lahosky from Primetime Sportfishing will be giving his summer Brown Trout seminar at 11am. You wont want to miss this!! Pete is one of the Premiere Captains in the eastern basin and Brown Trout is his specialty. This seminar is free of charge, with your 1.00 dollar donation at the door to get into the Swap. We still have some available spots if you would like to have a table to sell some of your extra tackle that is just taking up space. Give Bill Pingle a call and he can take your reservation. His number is 315 515 8278. Hope to see you all there! Brian

In terms of overall it is to soon but as of the meeting they were 2 days into Chinook egg take and they were half done with 2 million eggs so far and saw no issue with wrapping up Chinook egg take probably early this week. Plenty of fish at the hatchery for the egg take.

We had a nice crowd of 30 or so for our annual meeting at the hatchery. I apologize that I have not posted a summary I have been away from my computer. I will try and get one out on this thread. In the meantime it was regurgitated material from the meeting in Rochester... They are all on the same page...
