    The scoop on this straight from the DEC in region 7 is this will only be enforced at DEC launches. State park launches are not part of this. Can anyone tell me a DEC launch in the eastern basin? Mexico is a State Park launch not affected. I believe there are only 2 on Oneida lake that will be included. This has been started by the Lake Association on Lake George! Suprise Suprise they are trying to get regulations put into effect that will reduce the boat traffic on there lake.... Yuppies from the city who own lake front once again! I am told as long as there are no visible weeds hanging from your trailer, we wont be bothered. Makes sense to me. I would encourage all of you to voice your opinion while you can. We took the time at a recent meeting to discuss this with some of our local state level leaders as they were in attendance.

    Sweet Ride Rich!!! I have a thru hull for my 585 600watt it is more then enough. The only time I dont track my rigs is when I am steelhead fishing and am going over 2.9. For the kind of fishing we do it is over kill to have anything over 600 watt. The real trick is mounting it in the correct spot. Mine is probably a hair to far stern and I do get a little air while running. I can still mark depth and bait while at open throttle but I have seen a better picture on other rides. I know Primetime Pete had a 1k in his baha and took it out and installed a 600 a few years ago. Good luck with the ride!

    It is that time of year again! This year our Tackle sale is March 15th. It will be held at the same venue as last year, the South Shore Association building on South Bay rd in Cicero NY. Hours 9am -1pm This will be the place to find something new and something old. Those who attended last year know we had vendors with a ton of stuff for sale. Hope to see you all there! Tables are all sold out. We charge a $1 admission fee to get in. This money goes to help us send youth to DEC summer camp. Here are a list of our tackle vendors that will be on hand.     Our team is very excited to have this new format take shape and are very much looking forward to competing for this in 2014! This is an event series that has been needed for some time now. Hearing all the chatter from the regulars as well as new players will set the stage for a very exciting "Chase for the Cup" See everyone at the WHI in May to kick it off!

The Meetings are as follows: Eastern Meeting- DEC Training Center, Pulaski, NY Tuesday March 18th at 7pm Central Meeting- RIT Imaging Sciences Building, Rochseter NY March 3 at 7pm Western Meeting- Lockport Yet to be finalized. When I get word on this I will let you all know. Please try and make the meeting that is closest to you. We need a good turnout at all of these.

    That is correct it is the judges jurisdiction.

    Keep in mind this is only for the western region. Central and Northern regions are still 7 rounds or less. KEEP UP THE FIGHT!!!!!

    I cant wait for that week in May! Nowhere else in the Great Lakes is there that much money on the line in 7 days! The Slam, the 1K, the LOC and the WHI thats gotta be close to 100k up for grabs!!

    Let me play devils advocate here. I hear what your saying but let me pose this. Gill-T your on fish in Canada so you spend the money to do it legally. You go thru the effort to follow the rules. A competitor gets on fish a half mile over the border and beats you and you know he doesnt have a lic or go thru the proper channels to fish there. Your cool with getting beat by someone who broke rules but not tourney rules? How do you prove he was over there? Trust me I understand your frustrations with eyes on the paper work. I am just poising something that would be hard to prove. Its not like there is a big line for the untrained observers to see on the water. Then there is the issue with Observers what if the guy you get doesnt have a passport or an enhanced drivers lic. Now what are you going to do as a capt you cant go across. If you have to land in an emergency situation you must have your proper documentation. Let me say again I am just playing devils advocate and giving you some scenarios.

    Join us tomorrow night at the Salmon River Hatchery for our October meeting at 7pm. We will have our election of officers and a chat with some of our Hatchery and Regional Fishery Managers about what is happening currently with egg take and return. See you all then!

    Jet drives will cut the horse power by 40 percent I have read. Maybe someone with a jet can confirm this. Good Luck with her!

    In the Bay with sw you will be fine. You want to watch a west and nw wind. I will be goose hunting sunday after looking at the upcoming forcast. North at 25 wont be pleasent.

    They have been out since the beginning of August. In order to get some custom chips we had to send back some chrome blades. Here is hoping thay plan better for next season.

    You should have come to me before posting this! LOL! It is a smoking chip on our boat for the last 2 years. Really want to make it fly put a hammer behind it and dont walk away from the rod... We have since had some custom chips made with the green dots on both sides you will see in Fat Nancys next year. I suggest you guys buy them.

    Yes you heard correct! The 14th at Gander Mountain in Cicero at 7pm. We moved it so it would not conflict the LOC derby! We will have a round table discussion on Fall King fishing! See you all then!
