Thank you all!!! It was a very well run tourney from the Saiffs to the Local Chamber of Commerce. For there first attempt at a major tourney it was very well run. I was amazed at the local support from the vendors and there donations of gear. I honestly thought our fish would never hold up. We didnt even take a picture of Mar holding the fish. Marlene is going to be keeping the helmet for pro am tourney fishing with me!! Landshark I wish I would have introduced myself that day as I heard you say you were from deruyter and I thought that was you!! Congrads to you on your 2nd place as the fishing was very challenging all weekend! As far as who is the best looking you wont get any argument out of me! Marlene puts up with a lot during our tourneys and she deserved to catch that fish after watching lots of fish being caught all year at the wheel during tourneys and charters. I couldnt ask for a better partner!

There is a 4210 with my name on it at the end of the season with Sirus weather overlay. I have played with a few of these units and are far and away the best GPS on the market. As a stand alone unit I dont think you can go wrong and with the updated software package the mapping is second to none. Go to the www.hulltruth.com and read what these guys have to say that use this stuff everyday. Very High marks Garmin is the GPS leader no doubt. I am however keeping 585 as my primary fishfinder. I am a fan of buttons versus touch screen or I would consider the 5210 myself.

Loc Derby question - division prize
Tall Tails replied to Pike Hunter's topic in Open Lake Discussion
What we do in that situation is you dont reel in another fish until your fish on the board slips off... Sucks but thats the best way. Good Luck!! -
I have discussed in length with the sound engineers here at the engineering firm I work for and they say the sound disipattes rapidly after hitting the water almost no penetration past a few feet. As for your setup sounds perfect for what you are doing! Tell me are you fishing Sebec or Moosehead?? Thats where I learned what trolling for togue was all about! Love that part of the country. I used to spend every summer on Lake Sebec. Good Luck to you!!! Oh we used to pull Lead cores with great success.

Observer needed for Wayne County Pro-am
Tall Tails replied to Tall Tails's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Thanks for all the responses but we are all set now!! See everyone there!! -
I am with Glen on this the proven teams are as follows Captain Rigger Driver in some cases also the Captain but not always. 2 rod man whos only job is to get the rods when they go off and put the fish in the boat-Period!! People that fish with me on my teams know there job when they step on the boat. I believe wholeheartedly that more then 1 person in MOST INSTANCES deciding what goes in the water is a major hindrance to the boats program. As we know ALL boats fish totally different. What works on my boat will in most cases not work on your boat..... I have proved this theory many times over!! Case in Point and I hope I dont give to much away Glen! LOL! Last year in Sodus when Glen wasnt sinking he was catching fish on the Fast side say 2.8 to 3.0 and he let me know of this as we work together. I dont typically catch fish at fast speeds, Glen finished his limit and I slide into his area when he was done and gave the fish my program at 1.8 and finished my box in an hour!!! What I am getting at is to many cooks in the kitchen will keep you out of the money almost everytime. Nothing wrong with team meetings and lord knows the Princess (my driver) and I have a few of those on occasion.....But in the end its the Captains final choice! And yes second place is just the first loser!!! Thats why the pro ams are not for everyone and thats ok!!

Progressive LOC Boat Derby, make it happen in 2011
Tall Tails replied to Patriot's topic in Open Lake Discussion
I personally didnt like the boat entry and that is the main reason I wasnt participating. I couldnt go to my friends boat and fish with them during that time frame because I have my capts lic. I also wasnt goin to pay 575.00 to win 575.00. I would pay 80.00 or even a 100.00 to win 500.00. I would even pay 100.00 to win 250.00 but not even money.... Make it a personal entry not a boat entry and I am in for sure!!!!!! Thanks again for all your hard work in the LOC Dave as it is the best DERBY on the Lake!!!!!!!!!! -

What is the Latest News?? I havent heard much recently... I did however have a "GOOD" Friend of One of our Female Senators on a charter a few weeks ago and as he was watching the Sunrise from the east as we ran down the lake from Olcott. I asked him how he would feel about watching that same sunset with turbines in the middle of them... He was not pleased at all and asked what he could do about it. I asked him to talk to anyone who would listen. He was going to make a Phone call to some "people" he knew politically to discuss it. I think anything helps at this point in the game. Brian
