Hi Ricky!!

I believe the rule states even if you hold a capt lic or are even a lic guide, you must fish pro. Doesnt matter if you a chartering at the time or not. Welcome to the capt club!

Thank you Paul!

Gill-T, It wont dip into the money thats why it is a 1000.00, 100% payout event. The rest I cant even comment on. If you dont like the structure of the Tournament then dont fish it. Lets not turn this into a Derby as some are suggesting. If you dont like it dont fish it. These tournys are 2 day events for a reason they award for consistency!!!

I spent all day yesterday fuming over this issue and I still dont feel any better!!! Other than the 10 dollar stamp here are a few more additional proposed taxes that all seem to hit me in the wallet. No more Star Rebate check! A tax on satellite tv! and an increase in alcohol tax. So lets look at this for a second, I am 32 yrs old I own my own house, with satellite tv because I live in the middle of know where, I am a charter captain trying to operate a profitable business and I enjoy a few beers after work! Looks like the tax man just lives at my house!!! Other than a Good job why should I stay in New York and not pick up and go somewhere else! I could get a transfer at work and leave anytime! There is no incentive for people my age to live, work and play in New York state. I would like to know when the Downstate is going to start pulling there weight here and stop penilizing us for a quiet way of life!!! I guess I need to work more than the 60hrs a week I already do!! Apparetly I am not working hard enough!! I am really looking forward to the Mass email I will have to send to all customers saying "dont forget to spend more money this year when you come fishing!!!" Sorry guys I just needed to vent!!! I will be contacting anyone that will listen on this issue!! Brian

Guys thanks for the input I do appreciate it very much. Last I heard we had 18 teams that have made verbal commitments. We figure somewhere around 25 boats. Thats about the norm for these Big Boy shoot outs in other parts of the country. I for one may have 6 guys on the boat to help me defray the cost some. Again thanks for the input. Brian

I wanted to tell you guys about a tourney that is being planned for the day after the Niagara Pro-Am. It will be similar format to the Big Boy tourneys in Mich that follow there pro ams. The entry fee will be $1000.00. I know I know!! Dont shoot the messanger!! Port: Olcott only 12 fish limit weigh in. One day tourney. Payout: Structure with 25 or less Boats. 50 30 20 If there are more than 25 they will pay 5 postions deep. More of the rules to be posted as we see what interest might be. This format is followed in Michigan the day after a lot of there pro ams. It will be nice to see if this has some interest in our Lake. Please dont shoot the messanger on this just trying to see who may be interested. I am not involved in any way with this other posting it on the internet for these guys.

The old Derby V.S. Tournament discussion!! Two completely different competitions. Try a tournament and see if you like it before you bash it!!!!! This thread is changing focus which I think Fishtails didnt want to happen by starting it. I guess we all knew it would. See everyone in 09!!
