  1. Out this morning. Temp was down at 90 feet. Went 3 for 6. 3 small teenagers. Lost 3 majors. Dipsys were hot. Out 320 on a number 2 setting. Definetly more Marks on the sonar this morning than I have seen all week. Current is nasty. East troll is best. When going west I was doing 3.3 on the surface to maintain 2 at the ball. Charter boats out of Oz crushed them this morning. Salmon fishing is definetly getting better and better by the day. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. I'll post a detailed report tommorow. I'm headed out at first light. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  3. Rumor has it this west blow we have had the last 3 days has pushed the mother load in. I will be out early tomorrow in the morning and will update. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Thanks glass water outdoors. I must also say my wife loves to fish also so I am a very lucky man!! Our whole family fishing together is priceless 😊 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. We started this morning and temp was down 70. West wind started blowing 10 to 15 mph and the temp came up to 40'. The winds seem to be working the opposite way their supposed to this year. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  6. Temp came up higher as the morning wore on. Temp was at 40' when we pulled up at 12:30. We couldn't keep the skippys off in 100' of water. Very frustrating conditions. Lost two majors at first light then the cold water blew in and all bait and targets disappeared. 7 hours of washing lures. Did not see any other boats move a net. I've been coming up here the last 12 years at the same time. Toughest conditions by far that I have faced. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  7. Cold water has blown back in. Temp is now at 50'. 2 for 5 this morning. Nothing big Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  8. Bout time are you fishing east or west of the chute?? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Unfortunately we trolled for 6 hours yesterday afternoon till late night and took a big skunk. All the fish and bait were gone that we marked. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Fish are here but you have to work for them. I have caught kings mostly 150 and deeper. Not a lot of targets on the sonar. Temp is at 60 feet with most of our kings coming from 65 to 80'. Riggers have been hit with spoons. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. 150 looked the best on my sonar as well. If the bait is there so are the fish. I will be working that depth the next few days. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  12. Fished Fairhaven this evening. 4pm till 8:30. 2 for 3. 2 small teenage kings and lost 1 major at the boat. All 3 were hooked up in 200 feet of water. Temp was at 65'. Screen was pretty void of bait and targets. 2 teen kings on glow spoons and the major was on a dipsy out 275'. Hopefully will get better. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. BAITNH, you can message me on here and Ill give you reports. Im up the 11th until the 27th Lots of west wind coming up plus warm temps should start to set up the water column this week. The kings are there, we just need a thermocline.
  14. Yes we are staying at the same place. I'm arriving on July 11th. I hope it sets up. Looks like lots of west wind coming up this week so hopefully it will start! I don't mind Brown trout fishing but I would much rather be chasing kings!!
  15. its hard to believe that at the end of June your fishing in 15 feet of water. Strange conditions this year. Ill be up next week for 3 weeks out of Fairhaven. Guess I'll break out the Brown trout equipment again.
  16. I'm not sure if its just me. But last year glow lures and flashers worked all summer and fall long. Didn't matter if it was bright sun or low light conditions. They out fished everything else I had. Anybody else have this happen??
  17. Any signs of a thermocline setting up yet at all Mr clean??
  18. I have a 19.5' Islander with a 9.9 Merc kicker. Unless your running ethanol free fuel in your main tank, get a small 3 gallon plastic tank and use the ethenal free fuel for your kicker. I had to have my carburetor re built 3 times from running it off of my main tank. I even loaded my big tank with the ethanol treatment additives and it did nothing. As soon as I switched to ethanol free fuel I had no more problems. 3 years now and no more carburetor problems. My kicker runs like a charm.
  19. Well I don't try to make wild turns. Just the usual slow turns. After last fall I have decided to only run copper off my boards.
  20. Missdemeanor, I have tried to run my 500 copper down the chute many times. But for some reason I keep tangling with my dipsies. I run a dipsy on each side. Usually a number 2 setting. Any ideas how to avoid a tangle??
  21. Hat trick is also a great charter boat to go with.
  22. I run 4 riggers. In middle to late August at first light, running four spinnys works well. But as soon as it gets a little light out, I believe its to much for them and switch back to two spinnys and two spoons. Just my opinion. I know some guys never run more than 3 riggers, but most of the time I do ok with 4.
  23. Good to know! Thanks guys. I can't wait to try it when the sun gets high and the king bite slows. Thats where I need the most help.
  24. Just finished reading the new Dan Keating book. Excellent read!! Does anybody hear run the SWR(secret weapon rigg) ?? Running 3 colors of lead core off of a rigger with either a spoon or fly in the summer when the sun is high and the byte has slowed?? He seems to do very well on it. Just wondering if it works on Lake Ontario Kings
  25. Best for me was White green dot spinny with either Atommik ultra green glow, Hammer live lime, or big fin crinkle glow.
