What do you guys run for a main line on your rigger rods??? i run 17lb. Is that to light??? And if I go up to 20 or 30lb what should i use for a leader for salmon and browns... Thanks guys.

I have an LCX25C and it makes a huge diffrence when you can see the fish zoom up and either hit or swim away. If there not hitting, i pop the boat into neutral for about 10 seconds and that will usually intice them a little more. Hey erbyjoe, nice to see you on another sight other than fish lake winni!!

I got my copper reel in, what type of rod should I use?? Should it be a super stiff one like a dypsie rod or can I use a regular downrigger rod with it???? So many questions....... :shock: Thanks guys!!

I hate to ask this and I'm not trying to be a jerk but how do you swamp and capsize a 26' boat in 1'to2 foot waves??? did they anchor into the waves?? I ask to learn not to criticize...... I only have a 20' boat and fish alone at times out of oswego and I don't want that happening to me!!!

Ok, so it ok to run straight 17lb mono for salmon but if i go after browns I should use fluro leaders??

I have been running 17lb mono for my downrigger rods with a floru leader. Do I really need a leader or can I just run the 17lb test?? I run spoons and flys

Now I'm confused, I run 17lb for my salmon spoons with a fluro leader. You dont need fluro leaders for salmon :?: :?: ?? Will the browns still hit with out the leader??

Do you need a twilly tip on the end of your rod when you use copper line. I have them for my wire line but I just bought my first copper set up and am not sure of the answer. Any help greatly appreciated!!

Hey guys, happy holidays. Does anybody know of a realtor that deals with house rentals in the oswego area?? i have been renting a house in port ontario for the past couple of years but want to my move my base of operations to oswego. we caught twice as many fish the past two summers out of oswego than port ontario but I cant find any vacation houses to rent in the oswego area. I'm not looking for anything fancy just a clean place for the wife and a little room for my 3 year old to run around. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
