  1. Rick had 4" of black ice. I don't think your allowed to have machines on Conesus though. Not sure can anyone verify that?
  2. Took these from the depths of Conesus this past monday thru the ice.... ....both resleased.
  3. I also had a muskrat come up for air in the hole I was jigging in last year. Scared the bejebus out of me!
  4. Lets see some before and after pictures
  5. Ditto what Gambler said. Pike continue to feed all winter long and prior to ice out, the females are about ready to explode literally (with roe).
  6. Congrats on the bear. The last picture however disrespects a beautiful animal and further fuels the anti-hunters view of us as ego driven killing machines. Not in the best taste IMO. Just my $ .02
  7. Like Tank said, the buck was taken last year with a cross gun not longbow I believe. Also I thought it was Ohio. :?:
  8. Haven't seen that fly pattern around in years.........'Michigan Cricket' I believe. That's a beautiful specimen!
  9. Yes and no. THe rage 2-blades are legal. The 3 blade style are not if I am not mistaken, as the blades don't retract like the 2-bladed style. Someone correct me if i am wrong.
  10. Our friend Ronnie caught this 7.56 lb. largie this past tuesday night during the last 'Working Man's' Tourney of the season. Congrats Ronnie! ...and yes Ronnie released that beauty.
  11. Could be any estuary right now, they are all filling up with fish....
  12. Found the same S-L-O-W conditons off the Genny. Many fish marked no bites. Ran in front of Braddocks in 60-100 fow marked fish here and there along with some bait. Kicked the skunk overboard with this pork chop of a coho. 128' out on a 2.5 setting. White spinny with mirage fly. Also had the same rod fire shorty after with nobody home. Got bouncy out there and pulled lines around 11 am.
  13. Rick what were temps out of curiousity?
  14. I know you play by the rules Rick. Just bustin your noggins...
  15. All tribs in western NY need some good steady rain to trigger any runs at this time
  16. Nice! If your gonna use a salt block though, keep it out of the photo....
  17. I read that the DEC has ruled BOTH fish as king salmon,,,,
  18. HAd my uncle and father's friend out with us for the morning. Haven't fished out of thre river all summer and wasn't sure where to start. Saw, from temperature charts on internet the night before, that there was some cold water in tight so we decided to sniff the mouth early on before heading out. Hooked first fish right out of the chute while setting lines in 28' fow. 21 lb. king. That prompted us to work the inside waters for a while. Next rod fired at about the same depth a pass or two later and was a chunky little brown. Reset and a pass or two later, a j-plug/dipsey combo starts screaming, a 22 lber. Missed two other fish that just came unbuttoned. The sun got higher and the bite died. Ended up 3 for 5 for the morning. Saw only a couple other boats working in close which was surprising because we marked a decent amount of fish in front. Nothing stacked, but nice pods of 2-3 hooks hanging together here and there. Enough to keep us interested. We attempted to move out as the bite slowed, but stopped marking fish outside of 40-45'.
  19. Have seen similar results Nitro. We have seen very good pike action along the south eastern portion of the lake the last couple weeks, especially towards night.
  20. Maybe not in numbers, but the big fish are there and being caught. I know of 5 different 6+ lb. largies weighed in during club or open tourneys this year. Plenty of 4's and 5's as well. Yes the weeds have set up different, but the fish are still there just maybe moved a bit....
  21. Pike have been hot last couple of weeks along the south east shoreline. We've been hooking them fishing for bass in the evening using topwater baits. Cast accross the shallower weeds and bring the lure back across the deep edges. This is where most of our strikes were occuring.
  22. Great report! Looks like one happy kid!
  23. Pike bite is hot right now. Been fishing for bass the last couple tuesday nights and have been hooking them and getting bit off consistantly while fishing for bass. Last evening was tossing topwater and the pike were lighting the surface up. Some truly feroscious strikes on the surface.... Had one on last night that was a yard long if not bigger. Primarily the south east shoreline along the weed edges.....
  24. Seeing your traveling by bike and on the east side, might give Ellison Park a try just outside the city off Blossom Rd. The Irondequoit Creek flows through this saection of park and offers many deep holes to try. This is the lower section of the creek so it is slow moving with a silty bottom and also some weeds. This time of year you can expect to find some warm water species in there like bass, pike , and walleye. I would just pack some small jigs, spinners , and a few small crankbaits. Don't be surprised to see some trout and salmon show up in there in the next month or so as the begin there spawning runs to the higher sections of the stream.... Good Luck
  25. Nope. Water supply I believe.
