  1. Attn Chad/ moderators Since the sofetwre upgrade when I log into LOU at work this is all I can get. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks Home pc is completely normal
  2. Thanks. And thanks to those that PMed me.
  3. Launched out of Taughannock this morning looking for Salmon. Took my first fish 10 minutes in. Except for about an hour long dry spell when the wind switched directions I pretty much beat them up pretty good today. Took fish in front, to the south as well as to the north. Most fish were in the top 40 ft of the water column. Released a lot of fish today but kept a couple nicer ones for the frying pan. Had beautiful weather and thoroughly enjoyed myself this weekend. It's been about 4 years since I fished the Finger Lakes. 3 for the frying pan Hit a couple more Lakers today on the Salmon gear.
  4. I am going south today
  5. Spoons stickbaits and streamers
  6. Cayuga today launched at Deans cove and fished north about 1/2 way to the silo. Worked shallow, worked deep targeting LL's. Pretty blank screen except for the lakers down deep never moved a rod in 2 hrs. Ran down to just north of of Sheldrake and fished about 2/3-3/4 back north. Hit a few good size Lakers in 20-25 fow suspended down 10-15 on the Salmon stuff. Did turn out deep a couple times and had nothing but a blank screen. Didn't see any bait up here. Deepest I went was around 180-200.
  7. Need some help for next weekend Want to fish Cayuga out of Taughannock next weekend. Any lodging close by where the boat would be safe overnight? Thanks Also I will be targeting Landlocks. Any recommendations for a starting point as far as locations? PM me if you can and I will help you out if you come up to fish the big pond out of Mexico/Oswego this year. Won't have much time to do much looking as I am driving 300 miles to get there for the weekend. Thanks Glen
  8. For myself all I need is 8lb for early, shallow water Browns on a reel with a good drag. For customers/ less experienced fishermen, I like 12.
  9. Back at you Hank. Happy New Year.
  10. Is that 10 colors of regular 27 lb core or the thin stuff ?
  11. How much core and backing will the 50 hold? What lb test on the backing?
  12. This one did on the light gear. Kid had a blast.
  13. Two columns up from this one. LOU sponsors/Deals New products. Something like that anyway
  14. Sure.He's in Port Bay. L&M Marine
  15. Thats a shame. When Simrad was Simrad their customer service was second to none. I guess I'm pretty fortunate as my 24 works flawlessly. Hank installed mine and did a great job.
  16. LOL.
  17. Yes if they are in good condition. I paid $69.00 new with shipping.
  18. Merry Christmas all.
  19. Personally I run Shimano Talora tla-86m-2 for Kings and Shakespear ugly sticks BWD 1101 8" 3" light action for Browns/ Walleye. You will get a lot of different opinions here and thats good. Just keep in mind there is no one rod that will be good for both types of fishing. If you want to save some money on reels you could go with something like a Diawa sealine sg27lc's for the Walleye and Browns for about $100.00 a reel. They are good quality reels and would work fine for the smaller fish. They aren't Tekotas but I believe you would be happy with them.
  20. Are there any commonalities between landing a 3-6 lb Walleye and a 20-30 lb King? You can use your Salmon gear to fish for anything with a line change but you got to understand you will simply be winching the fish in with no consideration for a battle of any kind. Rods are the most important factor.
  21. You won't find much that will handle a 30 lb King and be good 6 lb Walleye. You are on the right track as far as buying quality over quantity. It will save you headaches as well as money in the long run. You really should consider different gear for the two different species. Tekotas are very nice reels and I personally own about 16 of them and they get used plenty. 600's are good for Kings and the 500's are good for Browns and Walleye. Rod quality, weight and action is important as well.
  22. I had a 15 hp Honda on my 25 ft Wellcraft. It would troll in anything. Smaller ponds and pick your days type fishing you could probably get away with an 8 hp high thrust. Personally I would go with a 15 especially for Lake Ontario. I've never heard anybody complain about having a few extra HP on the big pond.
