  1. I was looking at a sweet PY last fall. Looked great and I've been around boats for a long time. Survey came back with water intrusion in the transome and rotted stringers. Saved myself $6000.00 + and alot of aggravation. Also suggest a qualified mechanic you trust to check out the motor and transmission to be safe. Good luck Glen
  2. Happy Birthday Tom. Hope you have a great day. Glen
  3. If I had a 13 1/2 ft beam I would run 6.
  4. We smoked um on Seneca on Tuesday Andy. Got um on a very windy wed. on Cayuga and we crushed them on Seneca on Thursday. Biggest Brown about 6 lbs Biggest Salmon also about 6 lbs. We had three BIG Salmon on to the back of the boat and couldn't put one in the net.
  5. I run 4 riggers and two outboards off an 8 ft beam without issues Rip. If you want to go with 3 you will be fine with one in the center. Good luck Glen
  6. Thanks. Probably fishing Cayuga Tuesday as it's closer to where I am staying and won't be up until mid morning. Will devote a full day on Seneca on Wed. and fish the best of the two on Thursday. Will specifically be targeting LL's and looking for some bigger fish. Got to go dewinterize the boat now as we got temps in the upper 30's here. Glen
  7. Looking at Tuesday, Wedensday and maybe Thursday Sean. No radio on the 16 footer. Let me know. Thanks Glen
  8. Got to pick up a couple of bulk spools of Ande monofilament. Lost my site address from the last place I ordered it from that was very reasonable price wise when my old computer **** the bed. Anybody got any websites with good prices on the bulk spools? Thanks Glen
  9. Happy Birthday. Glen
  10. I'm thinking about making the trip out next week for a couple of days looking for some Landlocks, Will be fishing either Cayuga or Seneca, maybe both. Any recommendations? I'm traveling bout 300 miles with limited time to fish so any help would be great PM me if you don't want to post. I could return the favor on Lake O next season. Thanks Glen
  11. You missed my point. I said i didn't care about the pattern, i said the size is way more important than the pattern. 2" spoons as well as 4.25" are a large part of my approach. If you don't factor those sizes in, well thats fine. [ Post made via Android ] Pete you are spot on! To limit yourself to one brand would limit success. Agreed. Every different blank produces different action at different speeds. Glen
  12. And a happy and safe New Years to all LOU members. Only about 3 months to go. Glen
  13. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family Richard. Very sorry to hear of your loss. Glen
  14. Thanks for your time and dedication to the site Chad. We all appreciate what you do. LOU is by far the best site available. Glen
  15. What kind of boat and where and what are you going to be fishing for? Glen
  16. I have known more than one teacher in my past I would not want see packing a water pistol let alone a 9 MM. We have terrorists, racists and deviates teaching in our University's for Christ sakes. Society needs to get back to the morals and values it once considered important before this type of action will decline. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Glen
  17. Thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and young innocent lives that were lost today. Such an in despicable act of evil, caused by such a sick twisted scumbag. What has society come to !? Glen
  18. Nice Paul Glen
  19. I find running 4 weights of the same design avoids issue as they will all track identical. Some guys like the finned pancake weights on the sides but I have had nightmares running them in strong sub surface currents and now use them to hold the top down on a storage box under the camper. You should be all right running two torpedoes on the sides. I didn't find much of an improvement from the 12's to the 15's on the Torpedo weights. They are 2 lbs heavier but also have a bigger profile moving through bthe water. Glen
  20. Love my outboards Jeff. One big one for getting to the fish and one little one for fishing, less fuel consumption, to keep hours of the expensive big one and as an emergency 2nd motor. Which ever way you go, keep in mind I've never heard anybody complain about being over powered. LOL Good luck Glen
  21. You should be fine with your layout. I run my side riggers deeper than the corners without any issues off an 8 ft beam. Just got to make sure the rod man works the fish off the side until it is out and above the higher corner rigger. Then they can move and play them off the back of the boat. Just personal preference I guess. Good luck Glen
  22. You can't beat the Torpedoes for tracking unless you want to go to the high dollar Shark weights. Four 12 lb Atomic torpedoes is all I run and have fished as deep as 225 down with them. Shallow water Brown fishing in early spring I run 10 lb finned balls because they are less likley to dig into the rocks than the torpedoes pointed nose. Those two sets of weights cover all my fishing needs. Good luck. Glen
  23. Salmon only tournamnents are good. Untill you have a couple of seasons when there are no or very few Salmon in the area to chase. Then you are talking burning a whole lotta fuel.....Ouch. Glen
