  3. Happy Birthday Musky Have a great one. Glen
  4. I got to put together a couple of lead core rods for next spring. What reels are you core guys running for 2 colors. What about backing? Thanks Glen
  5. If you are replaceing the drag washers with the original type, they are reffered to as "wet" and you should use Shimano drag washer grease. From what I heard you can get replacement drag washers from Tuna Tom and I believe they are supposed to be run dry. I've never used those but think I will give them a try on one reel when I need to replace the originals. Good luck Glen
  6. I use small beads. I don't use the larger size to avoid adding weight to the fly. Glen
  7. Happy Birthday Big Dave. Hope it's a great one. Glen
  8. Happy Birthday Pete. Hope it's a great one. Glen
  9. Mikes Marina on the Little Salmon river. A lot of the Oswego guys go there. Glen
  10. I made SURE the tanks for the boat are full and the truck has a full tank also. Can always go fishin without electricity and the fish don't care if there is no power. Trout is delicious on the gas grill or open flame. Glen
  11. No, I'm not still trolling but yes, you can catch Browns and Steel in the lake now. 2 year old Salmon out in deeper water as well. I used to leave the boat in into Nov. This tiime of year is you actually have to fish for them. No more driving to the pack of boats to get on fish. Also make dam sure you have a fool proof method of communication and your boat is in perfect mechanical condition as more than likely you will be alone out there and help is not easy to find. Good luck Glen
  12. Take it to Hank!!!
  13. If your having trouble with the stop beads sliding, and you are sure your putting them on correctly, try using two right next to each other and actually touching each other. On the heavier cable, once they slide aways they are pretty much worn out at that point and need replacing. If you are sliding them on the cable to adjust the location, that will creat your problem. Take them off and put them back on to make adjustments. Glen
  14. Bingo!!! Combat fishing is no place for long coppers or leadcore. You want to run them fine. Your responsability to keep them out of harms way. Nobody elses. 100 + boats working a small area at times, all have the same right to that water. Nobody is special enough to take up a football field or more of that water. Most Captains are very respectful of other boats and most have a lot of experience and know how to fish in those conditions. Good fishing. Glen
  15. Help us out old timer. Post up or email me a picture of the sticks and flashers. Also might be interested in some fly rods. Thanks Glen
  16. See if you can get a fine stone or an abrasive rubber bit to fit in your roto tool, or as suggested use sandpaper. Depending on how rough it is, sandpaper could take awhile. A fine jewlers file would work also. I used a pointed carbide burr when I did mine and they came out good. Make sure you move the tool in the direction of rotation and not against it to get a better finish. Don't know if you can get wider ones from Okuma but it might be worth a call to them. Good luck Glen
  17. Thanks for the information Brian. Hope you guys are well and have a great winter. Glen
  18. LOL. Where you been fishing Todd?
  19. 60 in lead is way to much. Go with the 18" and you will be fine. Scottys work great after a little experimentation on how far in to bury the line in the jaws. The best place will change with different line diameters. You can use the black line on the jaws as a reference point. Good luck. Glen
  20. PMed you Jeff. Glen
  21. I got three words of advice..... Hank Hank and Hank. L&M from this board incase you don't know who Hank is. Glen
  22. Hope you find your stuff AND get to break a couple of legs. Glen
  23. Yes. There are Steelehead and 2 yr old Kings out over deep water. Look for suspended bait. Glen
