It was good fishing with you Rod. Rodneys report was pretty accurate and there was abosolutley no exaggeration on Sundays numbers. Saturday was tough for us only boating around 9 fish but we made up for it on Sunday. This spring has been phenominal in the Bay. Heres some pictures of the bigger fish. OK Got um? Good fishing Glen -
sub troll still not working
spoonfed-1 replied to smaltcody's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I've had to replace the long cable that runs from the readout to the antenna twice in about 8 years or so. The internal connection in the plug broke from plugging and unplugging every trip as I keep my electronics in the cabin when the boat is not in use. Might want to check that. Glen -
8 hp high thrust would work. Glen

Nice job getting the boy on a fish. Glen -
Well I am making some progress. John at Johns Tackle in Mexico, being a Friend of the fishermen that he is, has offered his services to help us out. John is a great guy, as well as a fishermen, and has a nice shop full of fish catching tackle. If your in the neighborhood make sure to stop and check out his shop and say thanks for the offer of his help. There is still alot of work to be done and I just don't have the time to do it all. I'm thinking we should set up a committee of 4 or 5 guys. Particularly someone who has some time and lives up by the lake to help us out. Otherwise this probably won't happen this year and I can work on it over the winter for next season. I have gotten some interest and offers from around the lake and a committee is needed to coordinate things and get the ball rolling if it's going to happen this season. Jeb1340 has pmed me with a very interesting possibility out by the Niagara River and Troy at Sodus point bait and tackle has shown alot of interest in getting something going in Sodus. Thanks to both of you guys. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to coordinate all this and need some help. Anybody interested in getting involved, please post or pm and we can hopefully put something together for this season. I'll be doing some more sniffing around at some Marinas the Mexico area when I'm up the weekend of the 14th. Glen

Any of you Scotty guys found a good replacement cord for the weight retrievers? I find after a couple seasons the cord wears and doesn't grip very well when you have the weight hanging by the side of the boat. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks Glen

I was up to Mexico Bay this past weekend. I was planning on doing some research for a place to hold a tournament but it's to early in the season. A couple of people and places I had planned to visit are not arouind/open yet. If anybody can get a lead or two on some place to hold a tourney let me know. Seems like the interest is definately there. Thanks Glen

Wish I could make it but theres fish to catch. Hank let me know if you want to hook a few while your in the neighborhood. The infamous Richard might let you in on a couple of his tricks. Glen
-
Got to tell you Mr. Hank knows his business and as already mentioned, it might be a good idea to take his advice. Good luck Glen
-
You can use any rod but the question would be whether or not your going to be able to enjoy the battle of the fish or just wench them in. Good luck Glen
-
Don't have any experience with Lowrance as I have always run Garmin and have been happy with them. Good luck Glen

That should work fine. Glen

LBG. It would closely resemble the old proam rules with the exception of a 6 fish 6 rod limit so 2 man teams could compete. And absolutely NO COMMUNICATION. No one who has a Capts license or who has run charters in the past would be allowed to fish. I would like to see observers which would mean 3 on the boat but when the time comes we would see what the popular vote would be. As mentioned there are many things more difficult than the rules that need to be nailed down. If any of you guys from around the lake could ask around and see if anybody would be willing to work with us at different ports that would be great. Tackle shops, Marinas, local tourist organizations, things like that are necessary to get the ball rolling. I'm going to be doing some sniffing around in the Mexico area of the lake the next couple of weeks. Glen
