  1. Yup. My vote goes to the Oak. Glen
  2. Thanks. Those are the ones. Glen
  3. You guys using those long cylindrical shaped swivels? What are they called? Thanks Glen
  4. If you want run weight on your mono I would say snap wiehgts might work for you. If I remember correctly you get about 5 foot of depth per oz of weight. You could also look into lead core off the boards. Glen
  5. Thanks for posting the report Rod. Plan on spending alot of hours on the lake getting ready for the tournaments. Wanted to add that theres plenty of water everywhere. Much better than last springs low water conditions. Could you email me those pictures? [email protected] Thanks Glen
  6. Anybody going to record this? I can't get that channel. Glen
  7. Yea, theres fish in the lake and you can get on the lake. Glen
  8. I wouldn't exchange them. You will be allright with your Diawas. Glen
  9. I ran Magda 30's for the first 3 or 4 years if fished the big lake. Taken probably a couple hundred Kings per reel running them off the downriggers and the drags held up, or should I say they worked. Now when you talk about putting wire on them I gotta say that I wouldn't do it. The reels would probably hold up for a season or two but you got to remember you got $40.00 worth of wire, a $12.00 dipsey, $10.00 attractor with a five dollar fly as well as Snap swivels and snubber. Lose a couple sets and you just blew the money it would have cost you for a quality reel. AND the fish you lose will be the $20,000.00 derby winner for sure. Just something to think about. Glen
  10. Thats better. Nice fish there young fella. Glen
  11. Think I'm missing something.
  12. Congratulations. First lake report of the season. Glen
  13. Won't be to early for the fish. The weather can be unpleasant but I'm usually out fishing by then. You sure can't COUNT ON good weather but you can't rule it out either. Glen
  14. 2 week maybe 3 Rodney
  15. Put floro. leaders on your flea flicker and your 15 lb big game. I would go with 8 or 10 lb test and 20 foot or so long. Early spring: If your fishing alone, run one rod with a spoon off a rigger with a long lead off the ball and put a stick bait on another rod and run t off a board. Concentrate on 5 to 20 fow depending on conditions. If your fishing 4 rods, go with 2 shallow riggers and 2 boards. Glen
  16. Orange is a good springtime color. I don't run pink so I can't tell you.
  17. Glen, have you given up on a FLX trip at this point? Yes Andy, I have given up. The weather has prevented me from making it out when I had the opportunity and I will be dropping the big boat in up north in two to three weeks now. Working OT trying to build up my gas funds now. Glen
  18. HOW COULD YOU BE DONE GIVING INFO WHEN YOU ONLY GOT ONE POST ?!?! Won't be long now Rodney
  19. If it helps you, I run 8' foot Tolara roller rods and like them just fine. I don't believe you will miss the extra foot and a half unless you need it to get outside a rigger or want to run more than one diver per side or something like that. Glen
  20. If you are talking about Browns or Rainbows don't worry about the flashers and flys. If your talking about lakers anything will work with brigtht colors probably the best.
  21. Hasbeen, What makes it crap is I posted a question in response to a claim made by another poster. I was hoping to get an intelligent response, hopefully with some facts to back up the statement and instead I got you. My hopes of an intelligent response and ANY facts are gone. Don't have a clue what you are talking about. I can only speak for myself when I say I will typically ignore your posts because I don't believe I have ever read anything worthwhile in any of them. Especially the fishing related posts. Hell, I wouldn't be involved in this one had you not directed your opinions at me. There is no conspiracy that I know of.
