  1. kjb7486. Gotta figure you will get plenty of 65 lb on a 47 for Kings. Much over 700 feet and you won't have any concerns. Glen
  2. What a bunch of crap. You just enjoy hearing yourself ramble on without answereing any questions and when somebody disputes your opinion you will just ramble in a different direction. The price of oil was on the rise way before the economy hit the toilet. Way before the housing market crash or any credit problems A statement like supply and demand doesn't effect the price of oil and contribute to my $500.00 bill is just more hot air. You are not enlightening at all.
  3. I must have amnesia - I don't remember getting a vote on NAFTA nor a voice on setting the pay levels or pension policies. In fact I don't remember being allowed into the room with the closed door where most of the state/Fed policies & purchases that I have to help pay for were decided upon. Tom B. (LongLine) And I'm not quite sure how some jackwagon living beyond their means is responsible for me paying 500 clams to fill my boat. Enlighten me. Glen
  4. I would spool up with 65 lb power pro and 20 lb floro leaders for the dipsys. 65 lb will be better for fleas. Never ran braid on my riggers so I won't comment on it. Again you need to consider fleas. I run Ande mono off riggers and Flea Flicker when the season dictates it. Glen
  5. Welcome to the board Toad. Guys, I'm breaking in Toad on the big pond this year. He's going to crank in a few fish for me in 2011. Glen
  6. I run my dipsys on 7 strand Malin wire. 8-12 inch snubber with a 7 or 8 foot 20 lb leader from dipsy to lure. I run Shimano Tekota 600lc's on Shimano Tolara roller guide rods and couldn't be happier. Catch alot of fish on them. Glen
  7. Nice job Nick. Glen
  8. This is what I was told was the case all along the lake in 2009. Makeing their natural reproduction estimates very unreliable at that point. Like you stated Lee, who knows for sure. Glen
  9. If you are new to the sport and read this post, please do not think that downrigger blow back is desireable. It's not. Most normal people will go to heavier weights when fishing deep to minimize blowback. I can just see the poor guy out there. "Maybe we need some more blow back." I am with the majority here GFO. Atomic torpedoes are very good. Shark weights are good also but expensive. Glen
  10. Don't see where it says the net pen fish were clipped Tim. You find that information anywhere? All I could find is that the Hatchery stocked fish were done. Thanks Glen
  11. Thanks for the info Tim. That sure does change things. Glen
  12. The nuimber of tagged fish I was given early last summner was more like 65 maybe 70% If this 99 percent is a valid number when did this increase take place? Are you gageing your estimates based on a clipping numbers that was just acheived last fall? They have been estimating natural reproduction much longer than the trailer has been in operation. Glen
  13. After talking to the DEC guy checking fish at the proams I have come to the conclusion the natural reproduction "ESTIMATES" are not at all accurate and are very possibly way over estimated. There are alot of Kings being put into that lake that are NOT fin clipped and chip implanted and from what I am told this is the criteria used to make the estimations. Glen
  14. I would just like to buy my fish from the classified section. But if you do post a report could you please list the Long and Lat numbers, manufacturere of the lure, size, color, depth of water fished, direction of troll, speed and temp over ground and at ball, different presentations used and how many fish caught on each, time of day, wind direction and speed and any other weather related information that might be pertinent to a successful fishing trip? I can figure out the rest. Thank you. Glen
  15. I'm really glad Paul was the one to do this fish. This big ole fish was just about as perfect as you could ask for with spectacular colors when she came out of the water. Glen
  16. You could always just keep specific details out and share those via pm's. I also enjoy reading the reports and seeing pictures from you winter fishermen. Believe me I would be out there with you if not for the 5 hr trip. Glen
  17. Thanks Tom.
  18. Black front with a glow ladder back, silver cup. Glen
  19. Thanks for the update Zeke. Wish like hell I could attend that meeting. Glen
  20. No, 600 ft will not fit on an Tekota 800. I had Atomic put 500 ft on an 800 and that is with an extremely risky amount of backing. Sorry, don't remember the exact amount. Glen
  21. Sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers. Glen
  22. Thanks guys. So many fish and so little time. Glen
  23. I wired in an additional fuse block for my riggers and other electronics by one battery and the battery switch with no issuse. I have the powers leads going to the fuse block and the ground wires going to a ground bar with screw in connections. The hot wire from the fuse block to the + on battery switch and a - wire from the ground block to the - terminal on the battery. I'm pretty sure I used 8 ga wire for the main connections. Seems like any 3 way toggle switch rated for marine use will work for your planer boards. $100.00 bucks, it's probably nice but seems pricey. Glen
  24. A Rapala knot is great for tying direct but like Tim I use a snap for quick lure changes and to avoid tying knots with cold hands. Fish don't seem to mind. Glen
