  9. I stand corrected. After some research I found they do pollinate. More so in late summer according to the article I read. After more than 6 decades of life, I can honestly say I've never seen it happen.
  10. They have 18 lb test core thats a smaller dia but I've never run it. Maybe someone that does will chime in. Good luck.
  11. I don't think a 7 color core will go on a 600 with the proper amount of braid backing. For fishing Salmon on Ontario I wouldn't want to run much less that 800 ft of backing and I run 28 lb test core. My 7 colors are on convector 45's. Check the line cap between the 2 and that will give you a better idea.
  12. Like mentioned already I disconnect the neg from the battery and charge it fully before the temps drop below 32 deg. Leave them in the boat in my non heated garage and go out a couple times during the winter and charge them. If the battery is good they will not lose much in a couple months. My batterys always last way longer than they are rated for.
  13. There are drag washer kits that are better than the originals. Also available from tunas called (tournament series drag washers) Rest of the stuff has to be ordered separately. Tunas will replace anything that is worn and send you the old parts with your reel. Just about every reel I sent him he replaced the level wind pawl. Other than that different components on different reels were needed and they come back like new. I have a few sets of drag washers for 600's that I can sell you cheap and I believe they are the same as the 500's. I retired recently from my charter business and sold all my 600's so if they will fit the 500's let me know. I'll take care of you because I won't need them.
  14. Thanks
  15. I used to send my Tekotas to Tunas reel troubles in Michigan when I didn't have time to do them myself. Very happy with the work. http://www.tunasreeltroubles.com/
  16. I seen a professional on youtube get one off the side of a house and he used some stuff that killed them all in less that a minute with one shot. He mentioned the name of the stuff but the research I did would indicate you got to be licensed to buy it. Also the nest was about 1/4 to 1/3 the size as the one I got to deal with. Also he was in a bee suite.
  17. Sounds about what I was thinking. Thing that has me concerned is this is a big ass nest. From what I've read there could be a couple thousand of those suckers in there. How far away for the entrance/exit hole were you when you blasted them and did you have a bee suite on?
  18. Keep the suggestions coming guys. I need these gone in the next couple days and thank to those that posted. I been trying to find a bee suite to borrow but so far no luck. If I cant find one and go for it I'll be sure to have somebody video it .
  19. If you read my posts you would know why. And no they don't pollinate anything. Technically they are wasps and not hornets. But thanks No they are still in the nest and active here. Not as cold here as in upstate.
  20. Cant wait. Cant leave it. A friend of mine is selling the house and he's not in the area so Im helping him out. Guy came to look at it today and got stung on his bald head. He said it drew blood. LOL Thanks for the intelligent response.
  21. Bigger than a basketball ball. Anybody ever ****ed with one this big? Plan is blast it from 2 sides tonight, drop the branch tomorrow night with a 3rd can ready. What do you think? Any better ideas? Thanks.
  22. Seems like a good guy.
