Can't help you out much with that specific area as far as tackle shops and launches as I fish out of the Little Salmon river in Mexico Bay. I can tell you that there are plenty of fish in the lake and 60-80 fow has been good. As far as what to use, read the many reports that have been posted the last couple weeks and that will give you a good idea. I do fish that area from time to time, it's about an 8 mile run, and all you have to do is look for the pack of boats between the North and South dunes. That will put you on fish. Make sure you get information about the channel from Sandy Pond to the lake before heading out. I have never been through it and with the high water this year you might not have anything to worry about but ASK before you head out. As far as Gary goes I would tend to agree with your assement. I used to run an x-19 on my old boat. Sold the boat and I got a brand new transducer in the box. If you need a new transducer I'll let it go for $50.00. Pretty sure I paid about $120.00 for it. Tag on the cable says HST-WSX wide angle. Lowrance part # is 000-016-35. Call my cell if interested. 413-519-3019. I'll be up in Mexico all next week. Now that I think of it it might have been an x-91. Not sure it was awhile ago. Glen

Never did get my AP12H to calibrate either. Don't know why but it works just fine without the calibration. I was going to call tech support at Simrad before I pull the boat and address the problem after the Salmon are in the river. What Tim said was on the lines of what I was thinking also. Be sure to let us know if you find the problem. Glen

Back in the old days my father and I would punch a hole in the tail of bass we caught in our local ponds. The hole would heal over but leave a definate scar that you could see. We would use a paper punch that left a small hole and punch off to one side of the tail. Our record was a largemouth that had 4 marks and weighed 6 lbs 5 oz. I could see Pauls point about the meaty fins but doesn't the DEC do fin clips? Alot of the lakers we use to take in the Finger Lakes were clipped and it sure didn't bother those fish. Cayuga and Seneca turned into Laker factorys. Glen

This unit is called a Clinefinder. It's in new condition. I used it on the Finger Lakes before I got my Subtroll and it works good. Rotate the piece of rubber tubing 90 deg then clamp down on it. If it still slips rotate it 180 deg but 90 usually works fine. glen
