  1. Grays is noted for that. In fact you can find dozens of court cases involving that very scam with them. They pay captains a commission to direct clients (victims) to them using a cheap price and then hit them with ridiculous over charges. Your brown trout plan is a good one. Involving the wife in taxidermy decisions is always a good idea.
  2. Don't forget your Bay Rats.
  3. That's a repro Vince.
  4. Haven't posted any fish in a while. I've got a bunch to do in preparation for the LOTSA show. Here's a summer chromer just finished for Capt Jeremy Sage
  5. The fishing last May was only good for about 2 weeks Matt. When the fish dispersed so did the fishing. Fishing all summer long was "dispersed".With the warm winter don't expect to see a great concentration of fish on the Canadian side or the American side of the Niagara flow. Without the ice water coming out of Erie the fish will be dispersed all over the lake. Expect to see kings in "brown trout water" all along the southern shore as far East as Oswego and Mexico. Of course, all that could change with two or three weeks of sustained east winds. [emoji15]
  6. With today's molding and casting technology NO ONE can tell the difference between a PROPERLY done skin mount or reproduction. The only real difference is that reproductions are virtually timeless while skin mounts can actually "age".
  7. While I LOVE seeing kings caught in December and January--especially chunky ones like the one Frank's client caught, we need to keep in mind that our overall numbers of kings are still WAY down. The one glimmer of hope we have for this year is the warm winter will allow the cohos to put on some weight and actually be a viable fishery this May.
  8. Welcome to the wonderful World of "post 911" border crossing nightmares. You will get several answers to your question and all "may" be correct. However, what it comes down to is the "rules"'are open to the interpretation of the Coast guard or Border Patrol agent you're dealing with. Always have your passport with you as well as another form of ID and be prepared for anything!
  9. That's a reproduction.
  10. Only YOUR team Vince. The rest of us will be allowed to weigh as many slime ball greasers as we can catch. [emoji1][emoji1] *joking of course*.
  11. Bully Baroo is finally available!!! Probably one of the deadliest brown trout baits ever at the Oak.
  12. A Paasche is a great starter brush. They have several models and styles. A gravity fed double action will be the best for her to learn with. No bottles and minimal paint waste. She can graduate to an iwata later. You will also need a compressor to run it. The compressor will need to hold 20 psi sustained. They make small "airbrush" compressors that are relatively quiet and fairly cheap.
  13. Leadcore and deep diving sticks work well together. Tens of thousands of walleyes die each year in Lake Erie to that very setup.
  14. You just jinxed yourself. Better change that green stuff this winter or you'll be whining after Day 1 of the spring KOTL when that 22 pounder cracks off your slide diver!
  15. No one said they had it all figured out. Some of us just despise unions and what they've done to this country. Factual information!
  16. No sense arguing with a Union guy Rich. He'll just go on strike and boycott the Lake. Smh
  17. Water based paints like createx don't work for that application. Even if it sticks a little it will easily get melted by your clear coat whether lacquer or enamel.
  18. I disagree. Unless you rip the fish's gills out I think most skippys survive. They are far hardier than most people think and unless they receive a fatal wound they will survive. A little bleeding around the mouth does not constitute a "fatal wound". Gills ripped out does. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  24. A small section of leadcore and two Willis knots will provide the best connection with the smallest profile. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  25. "....were you going fast or slow" is totally relative. Everyone's interpretation of "fast" is different. Just in case you didn't get that already. 😀 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
