  1. I'm really not sure what you're saying Chris. Do you mean to say that unless the Orleans tourney is tied to the Niagara event and uses the same rules and format that it cannot exist? What happened in Sodus and Oswego last year with their "Pro Ams"? Did they "not exist" as well?
  2. Unfortunately that email was a bit premature and ill timed. The ONLY thing that was "confirmed" was that the Orleans tournament would not be partnered with the Niagara event as in years past. A new tournament committee was formed several months ago and discussions are ongoing with plans to put on an Orleans event in the normal weekend slot. Expect an announcement soon but DO NOT count the Orleans Pro Am as "off for 2014"!
  3. ".....so everything on the ride matches"?? Do they come with blue LED lights too? )
  4. Good point! We might have to have a "clean showdown" at the Oak. Since my boat couldn't even qualify ill volunteer to be the referree.
  5. A retirement home. Me thinks he just got promoted to "head babysitter" and is going to have to give up some things for that cushy retirement package! ) Sweet boat and without a doubt, the CLEANEST boat at the Oak!!
  6. I have several 6 and 7 foot Shimano roller rods for sale. All the guides are rollers. Like new. You con contact me by PM here. Paul
  7. TIM......those are all my favorites too. Gonna have to switch your team duties from observer to rod guy! Ps...... Glad you left out the good ones. LOLOL.
  8. They are scraping good here in NW PA so I would think you should have some activity as well.
  9. Not all older deer have roman noses. And hair color is the poorest indicator of age. The only way to know how old a deer is to kill it and have the teeth examined by a reputable lab. Anything else is just a guess.
  10. Give me a call at your convenience please. 716-390-0085
  11. Do you still have the riggers? I'm inquiring for a friend living in New Hampshire. Please advise.
  12. Walleyes are noted for being able to change color. Put a live one in a white cooler of water and you'll see what I mean. That said, I seriously doubt that is a blue pike. Most likely a different "shade" due to its surroundings before it died. However, I think only a DNA test could prove it either way.
  13. Fishing was as good today as it was yesterday according to the report I just got. It's basic stager fishing--- flashers and flies and cut bait from 40-130 fow. You could probably take a few off the wall early as well. Good luck!
  14. The guys had a tremendous day yesterday! FYI.
  15. Here are the final standings for the Johnny V Memorial and the King of the Oak series. 1-- Capt Keith Poland-- Snow Pirate -- 49.08 with a big fish of 24.67. 2-- Capt Paul Czarnecki-- Free Spirit--43.34. 3-- Capt Rick Hajecki--Yankee Troller--40.32. 4-- Capt Ian Scroger-- Outlaw-- 38.02. King of the Oak for 2013, capping off an incredible tournament season, is Capt Rick Hajecki -- Yankee Troller with a total 4 tournament score of 281.32. "Runner up" was Capt Paul Czarnecki with a score of 275.34. This was a very closely contested race and was very exciting and fun to fish. A few more participants would have made it even better. Hopefully next year we can get more people to join in the fun.
  16. If you give me your team name I will tell you where you finished. Because I'm posting results in the middle of a very busy charter season using my cell phone sometimes they take longer to post and may lack some details. For that I apologize. The results for the final tournament, the Johnny V Memorial, will be posted next.
  17. I will take it Nick. Please send me a text at 716-390-0085 telling me what you want for it and where to meet you and what time. I will have cash.
  18. Just a reminder---this Saturday, August 17th is the fourth leg of the King of the Oak Tournament Series. You can sign up until 7am Saturday at Lake Breeze, 4 C's, Captains cove or Narbys. With both the Orleans derby and the LOC derby going on we should have a tremendous turnout and great payouts. AND......contrary to most weekends this summer, the weather for this weekend looks great! See you at the weigh in line at Lake Breeze by 3 pm.
  19. Great response Tom. If you do not have the skill to operate your 22 ft or 24 ft boat on the lake in the conditions it can generate then you should stick to smaller bodies of water. There was NO small craft advisory so neither the NWS or the Coast Guard thought conditions were dangerous. Team Dipsey Ranger had the smallest boat in the Tournament and managed to weigh in fish. Team ThrillSeeker WON it out of a "little" 24 ft boat! Nuff said! Great tournament Tom. See ya next year!
  20. LOLOL. it's funny now but it definitely wasn't funny then. 2000 gallons of water is a LOT! And I almost ran out of fuel because of it. Dave knows I'm joking because I already laughed at him at the fuel dock. Lol
  21. All that fish catching knowledge and NO ONE can count gallons of fuel left. Lolol.
  22. We can all use a "few more inches" Nick, but that's a helluva way to get them! Congrats on the last minute upgrade and a BIG congrats on the finish. Very impressive for a young man with his first "big lake boat". Hope to see you at some of the other tournaments in the near future and don't forget the King of the Oak tourneys on Saturday August 17 and Sunday Sept 5.
  23. When conditions are right there are plenty of browns to be found. I fished browns with a charter on Monday at the Oak and did very well. Even managed to hook up 3 mature kings. Look for where the thermocline hits the bottom and fish inside of that.
  24. Taking the forecast at face value I would say there is no way in hell you'll fish tomorrow. The SCA extends until tomorrow night. Thursday looks better and the weekend looks better still. Good luck and make safe choices!
