Kings, like any cold blooded creature, are temperature oriented. Until the surface temp nears 42 or 43 kings will do very little and be very difficult to catch.
Once the water cracks that magical "42" kings will be found chasing bait. Look for the warmest water you can find, with color and bait and you'll find very hungry kings.

Check your lead core every year. It will "rot". The knot to your backing should be retied as well.

PAUL, did you notice a difference in the bite ratio  with the braid and wire do to eliiminating the hum in the cable

What is the supposed benifit?

I ran it last year. For about 3 weeks the fleas were horrendous and the braid was almost unusable. Before and after that period though I was pleased with it.

Crusader owners Looking at a boat with the 454 crusader. It has 432 hours all original. I need the ins and outs like life expectancy and so on. Been sitting since 2011 we brought it back to life sat ran great. Might need a carb cleaning but has all new hoses plugs wires, impeller. 

I don't think there is any adipose clipping of either kings or cohos going on any more.

I just completed this awesome custom reproduction of a Lake Ontario king taken in late August. Fish still has a lot of its summer chrome but it's fading fast to the golds and bronzes of its spawning uniform.

In my opinion this is the most individually unique and colorful time of a salmon's short lifespan.

50# Blood Run or Gamma fluoro. 1/0 ADDYA treble with a 4/0 octopus. Best setup I've found and I've tried about all of them.

Thank you all for the input. A charter is a great idea if I could get a few to go in on it, but 6-700 plus food , hotel , gas to get there is a $1k weekend.  Not in the budget 

If you REALLY want to shorten the learning curve you should consider a "teaching charter" with a reputable captain that is also a good instructor. $600-$700 and your learning curve would be shortened considerably.

That is reason enuff to buy it,  let me know, as I live for cut bait (even on my winter time pizza gets the freezer left over cut bait) !!!!

The "Newer" product Paul is talking about is a very good-Proven product (Canadian tournament teams have been using for awhile) I have been using it and have LARGE quantities currently and will have more at the beginning of 2018 start of Canadian tournament season in April. Familiar bite product is equally as good.
A little late to distribute the newer product this year, but I would recommend getting a pack or 2 this winter and practice "cutting Bait". I am thinking of having some Trial  2-fish packs available for practice cutting/try before you buy samples this winter/spring if interested.

If another meat was made available that was far superior to anything currently out there who would be interested in it? I know there are a lot of "loyalists" out there so I'm wondering who would be willing to make the switch to a superior product.
