  1. We fished it today, should have stayed home. A lot of boats running and looking. You may be better off going to Sodus Bay.

    Sodus????

Put your boat in at the state launch on Rt. 14, its south of sodus point. drift the shore line with minnows above the sinker till you find perch. put out the anchor and if its not deep cast jigs with minnows, or follow the crowd. . Good luck.
  3. Get one of those 30.00 pike lures and put it on the wall, they cost to much to through in the water and wouldn't take up much room on the wall.
  4. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: Total Boated: Species Breakdown: Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ====Got on the Bay about 8:00am set up and headed east to the point, had 4 lines off the boards and to riggers down. started in 25 fow,hit two brown off the boards on #11 Rapala black silver and #11 perch finish, landed the first one the next one was big and I either didn't snap the clip or it opened up but the brown was gone and the snap was strighted out. . We picked up two more browns off the riggers on black and gold raps. Things slowed down so we headed out to see if anything would hit deep, trolled to 110fow no hits, tried a spinnie and fly, it came in nice and clean, trolled back in and called it a day. ended up 3\5. great day out there. Oh the temp out at 110fow was 52d degs. on top.
  5. I'm surprised to here the clear water reports, Sunday afternoon I found green water from the lighthouse east to and past the first point, not a long way past it, also green west of the lighthouse. I had temps.from 45 to 48degs. The average temp. was 46.5, my temp.gauge may not read the same as wny Tony but I still found two deg, changes west of the bay. No hookups west of the Bay. .
  6. Did a afternoon trip, got on the water about 3:30 pm, headed east, had good color and set up before the first point, fished 10-12 fow past the point, ran out of colored water, turned out into 25fow and headed west, hooked up twice lost one landed a short brown throw it back. We moved past the lighthouse to get away from the on shore thunder storm. The water looked good but no hits.Pulled lines at sun down. Sure got cold in a hurry. Oh the hits came on sticks. .
  7. One's in.
  8. Hey potsie, Hope you do better tomorrow then we did today, It sucked . Started out with a south wind and it went to the North. cruised the whole south end, the only fish we marked were in front of the docks west side, they didn't bite. Maybe tomorrow. .

Hey Potsie, Were you the guy that helped center the boat on the trailer at the end of the lot? You didn't ask me if I was lund SSS,you may have asked my partner. Were you towing a Jonboat type boat? Have a good day tomorrow, don't forget your rain coat. .

    IBay today.

The day started out well, got up at 6:00 am and turned on the news for a weather report, WoW 45 deg. all ready and 30mph winds, thats not good, but we'll be taking my friends 20ft. lund, how bad could that be. Got picked up at 7:30, picked up bait and headed down to the Bay. Got on the ramp and the wind was blowing straight into the launch, there was a Starcraft on the ramp next to us,water poring out of the drain for a long time,I though they forgot to put the plug in,Wrong. They said when they backed the boat in the waves came over the transom and swamped the boat. We didn't have any trouble getting in, and they made it the next try . We headed down the bay looking for fish, ended up fishing in 60fow south of the bridge. The bite was kind of slow and hard to feel but we managed to keep 50 or so perch, mixed size. All in all it wasn't a bad day on the pond. .
  13. Are you going to cast or troll? If your going to cast try 3-5" paddle tails on jig head on the edge of the fast water, go deep and slow. Small stick baits also. What river are you talking about?
  14. If the lake is calm fish the lake. You don't need four wheel drive but you should keep a bag of salt with you this time of the year. If the water is low you may bang up your prop at the state launch. Let us know how you do. Good luck. .
  15. I'm extending my planer board mast and I'm rigging up a sail.
  16. Correction, my first post on Oneida Lake should have said today not yesterday. See pictures on Ice Shanty.com
  17. Yesterday the 28th my son and friends went out from the beach, the Eyes were hitting good. About 9:30 a couple guys headed back in and found the ice moved off shore leaving a 30 ft. crack to cross, they warned the others out there, about 60-70 fisherman, they had to wade up to there Go-nads to shore and floated a snow mobile across on a big chunk of floating ice. They'll be back out as soon as the wind blows the ice back in.
  18. If you have a graft check out the water between 20-60fow. I'd start in about 35ft. in I Bay South of the bridge.
  19. So Andy, can you still run your boards with all that canvas. Is there any problem getting through to the bow and board mast.
  20. I'm thinking its a button, Its got a pretty short face to be a shed 10pt.
  21. Years back I got cough in a thunder storm, in my hast to get out of there I tried to bring up four riggers at once and blow a fuse, I tried the hand crank and it striped out before I got the first one half way up. I had to go below and find the fuse that was blown and to save time I cut the fuse out and wired direct. got the riggers up and got the hell out of there. The man upstairs must have been looking out for us. I installed a fuse block above deck for the riggers and never had that problem again. The hand crank was all plastic I hope there better made now.

    Oneida Lake

Theres good ice on the east end off the beach area. be safe follow the crowds,
  23. Several times in the past I came out of Fairhaven in solid fog, went out deep to get away from the other boats. In about 250fow I marked balls of bait and schools of fish around them,I didn't have a jigging setup and I kept going, The fish were from the bottom to maybe 30ft off the bottom. That seams like the time to clear lines and park over them and jigg for them. .
