  3. Come on guys, his head will be so big he won't be able to get it into his ice shanty!! .
  4. Went out on the Bay 7:30-4;00, it was kind of slow,it could have been better but I didn't get off my butt and move around to find the fish. I parked next to the F&G club. When I finished loading my gear in the truck I tried to back up to back on to the road and the truck slide on the wet snow and I ended up stuck on the snow bank, all most in the lake.I walked down the road to see if I could get some help from someone with 4WD but no one was around, still out on the ice.I was standing there thinking about who to call and a fellow fishermen pulled over to see how the fishing was, Yes he was driving a big old 4WD. I told him of my problem and he was happy to take a look and see what he could do to help.Well we hooked a chain up to my little chevy PU and to his big old Ford truck and he snagged me up on the road like the little dinks I I'd been catching all day. He said he lived just up the hill on the bay, his name is Pat,I don't know if he will see this but thanks again Pat. Mike.
  5. I got an Email last night from a friend who's a taxidermist, he said it scored 205 gross. Nice job. .
  6. Thanks for coming guys,Pat You did the right thing taking the kids off the ice when they had enough. . Oh I got a PM from Hank, he said the bay got buried ,I'd say there's a lot of slush. deep-end, give me a shout come spring, maybe we can hit the bay together.
  7. Hey Pat, glad you made it but the fishing was way to slow to keep kids interested. The south end of port bay would be a good place to take the kids if it doesn't get buried in snow. Keep trying and good luck.
  8. Well just wondering if any LOU members made the VB fish derby this morning? It was a little slow but it looked like every one was having a good time socializing between flags.

  14. Pat, The pond is about 6-7ft. deep, with alot of perch and sunfish, small ones. There are also a lot of northern pike and LM bass, tipups and shiners for pike and spikes and jiggs for perch and sunfish. I get my bait at S&R bait shop at I Bay on Calver Rd. He's open at 6AM and I think till 9PM. It's all catch and release, I think the kids will have a good time. Mike.
  15. Thanks Brian, that's a lot more helpful. With out looking at the map I'd say it is off Chapman park area. I know there's gas holes out there. Good luck and be safe.
  16. Brian, thanks for the report.I don't have a map with GPS numbers and I don't know of the middle bar. Whats it near, what side of the lake is it on? Thank you.
  17. idn, are you talking about today or last Sat. good job.
  18. Two of us fished w-day and kept 57 perch, mostly 9-10" with some slobs mixed in. I got mine jigging minnows and my partner got his on tipups. Yesterday we got out early again, three of us, the fishing sucked, stayed till 1:oo had 15 keepers. Hope the afternoon crowd did better. Maybe we cleaned out the school the day before, seamed like every one was getting them the day before. They bit better in the snow storm.
  19. We got on the ice a little after 7:00, the Ice looked good about 5".Started jigging minnows and hit keeper perch, 9-12" mostly around 10",then one of those dasturdly toothy critters grabbed my jigg, after about 10 min. we got about a 30-32"er on the ice. It was discusting looking,it was covered with watery looking things. After a while the perch started hitting again and I got another toothy, Hammer handle, that ended my perching for the day I think they moved off for a while. We ended up with about 50 for the day. Oh I put the critters back to screw up some body else.
  20. SB,did the rain hurt the ice any? I was thinking about heading out of three mile creek in the morning. OH,you forget to post your honey hole.. .
  21. Hey Stan, have the ponds fill up out there yet? Hope there not fill in with mud. Happy New Year.
