  1. Ya know Ray,when I was younger I worked with a old farmer, he said when he was a kid about 12 they were flat poor,so that morning he pulled on a pair of size 12 farm boots, grabbed his gun and off he went to see what he could shoot.there was a lot of snow that fall and after a while he got lost but he know he could back track so he kept going, said he got three nice rabbits and started home.Well he looked down at his tracks and saw that one of boots turned around backwards and he still didn't know witch way to go. Sorry Landshark there to big for me too.

Fished the bay 7:30-2:30 kept about 30 give or take. 9 to 11".plenty of dinks Marked tons of fish, think they might be shade or some other trash fish. Good news fore some the perch are biting in Onida lake.
  4. Andy,I've never lost a bird, wait a second I never hit one. I only had two or three chances while hunting deer,I worked on head shots at the range up to 30yds,but the 3d targets arn't moving. If I miss the head I don't wound them. I'm shooting in the 53lb. range and shoot 400 Bemen ICSshifts, but 2013 alum.shoot the same, and there a lot cheeper.Don't louse them in the hay lot, I hear alum. isn't good for the cows. .
  5. Hey Ray,if your shooting that tight you should move your sight.
  6. Sure!!!! now I have to go out and buy a dam duck stamp..and steel shot..and decoys and a pretty black flag and what ever else I'd need to pretend I'm a goose hunter. Oh the heck with it, I'll just go by a corned beef and pretend it goose.

I'm thinking it was just an early school of mostly male and I don't think it was a very large school, the boats on either side of us didn't do much. I think it was a small school wandering around and we got lucky, but its a start. I noticed last fall when we were into them good the wind was out of the south like today and it switched to the north east and it turned them off. It was trying to do the same thing today and they turned off. Watch the wind when your out and see if it happens. Hope there's a ton of them on the way in.

Fished Ibay this morning,7:30-12:00 or so.to of us kept around 50-60 perch 9-11". We started out getting dinks then the keepers moved in, I thought we might limit out but they turned off,Oh well thats fishin. If the sun fish were bigger we could have limited out on them. Those 5" gills felt like 12" perch. The guys that got there late didn't do well. The rain started so we called it a day.Talked to some fellow percher's at the ramp that donated there catch to our cooler.I never thought to ask if they were LOUer's. How about you guys with the two Star Craft's,you members? Well they were still nice guys.
  10. Chuck, Now that's a HOG!!!. Oh you forget the Lat-Lon you cough it at,but I may have done the same thing.

kappy, I haven't been out in to weeks but to of us were out twice and keep about 30 perch between 9-11" each trip. A lot of dinks, it should be getting better soon.
  12. Firguy,I bough a new 28ft.BaHa in 89, after a while the bow seemed to be plowing. later on I was down in the bilge to change the oil.I moved the bilge pump to one side (removed one screw and turned the pump on it's side) and found a drain plug next to it. I removed the plug from the bulkhead and it started draining, I didn't think it would ever stop but it finely did. I'm thinking the water came in through the rope locker that had a drain in the bottom. The drains had plastic hose on them that ran to the transom,it may have come off. I don't know how the 25fters are built but you could take a look. You might have to drill a drain hole. Good luck.
  13. Hang in there Elliot you'll get through it.
  14. It's this coming Sat. Sunday. See you there.
  15. Happy B-day Hank. Sorry to have to tell you this but it's just another work day so put that beer down and get to work... . Mike.

  17. Mark,I think the state close the tollboth after Labor Day.
  18. Have to pull the lines so the fish don't interrupt the eating.
  19. I've been on Ibay several times in the last two weeks and have seem plenty of them.
  20. Ya Chowder, them geese make a great roast beef sandwich on home made bread . What I'd like to know is why every time I tell someone how good they are the first thing they say is there to greasy,I don't think they ever eat one.
  21. Lineman, I use strips about 2"s long on a jig, or a plane hook or a 2"tube jig black-chartreuse. If there schooled up tight and feeding they will hit any part you put down. You won't even need to bait the tub jigs when there fighting for the lure. Good luck. .
