  1. I feel your pain Stan.
  2. Is this a test.
  3. Capt. Spike, try stacking a pair of Dipsy (the smaller size with rings on3set.) Off the cables 30-40ft. out about 10ft. over the ball. You can drop right into temp. Run them on a rigger rod. Hey you can still run two coppers off the boards and two cores off inline boards and and and......... Good luck and have a good season.
  4. Bosco,a tub jig with a 1or1.5oz.weight in it will get you to the bottom if the wind isn't to strong. If you have an electric trolling motor you can use it to slow you down. White is good also. There right about smallies going deep,I've marked them on the FF on the bottom in 90fow and caught them while fishing for salmon.
  5. It sounds like a dead bat. or a starter soloniod. clean your bat. connections and see if that works if not try charging the bat. or hook to an other. If that doesn't work check starter connections and if you have to try buy passing the starter solinoid or just replace it if its replaceable. Hope this helps.
  6. Capt.John, sounds like you've got every thing under control. Enjoy your boat and good fishing.
  7. I'm looking for a happy troller that will fit a 50hp Johnson. Its the smaller one.
  8. I kind of like tub jigs in a brown shade. You can feel the goby's hit it but they can't get it in there mouth but the smallies will.
  9. Shake and Bake, If you fined a hardtop you like make sure the windows open wide or those hot windless days will kill you. Times Two, have you tried using sea bags to soften the roll. It might help.
  10. I've fished Honeoye for 6-7years now mostly for gills and croppy and pick up a keeper eye on the smaller gigs now and then. Never marked then on the FF on those nice flat days. If you get out on those windy days out of the south with whitecaps theres a good chance you will find suppended eyes and a lot of them in the deep water. We got eight in the boat and lost that many more in about to hours drifting spinners and worms, only one keeper. Also put out a suspending Rapala firetiger small size jointed and just let it drift. It hooked up three or four times.I fish it in the evening and will get one just before dark and thats it for the night. Hope this help out.
  11. Frisco,you have a PM.
  12. A friend had a Crestliner he bought new and had to have cracks welded to or three times. He may have abused it or maybe a bad trailer setup. take a good look betore you buy one. I kind of like the look of them.
  13. Phil, try going up the creek there's some deep holes 10-12fow and some eyes northerns and bass.Try spinner baits white maybe. No wakes up there. Mike.
  14. Use round nose swivels, cross lock.
  15. Hey Flight, don't waste them cats, there great on the grill, taste like chicken.
  16. F.F,I had a 1961 16ft.LoneStar, it was deep but not wide, I took a beating but thats a 16 ft. for you. I built a 18teen gal. gas tank into my 16ft. lund by removeing the front seat and replaced it with the tank and adding a casting platform over it. Honest two footers are bumpy in any 16fter but I don't have a problem keeping the bow down. Good luck.
  17. BH, my ff works , the only fish I marked were in 30fow and I went out to 160fow without a hit. You should have been there about 6:00am,south wind the lake was flat. the wind shifted to the NE mid morning. I trolled from2.0 to 3.3 not a hit. had a great boat ride. Going to take the boat to the car wash and try to get that skunk smell off.
  18. Got on the lake about 11:00 am to 7:00pm temp out to 65fow 56deg. Out to 170fow it was about 52deg. Set up in 100fow and trolled in to 70fow, marked a little bait and a few fish, very few. Set the rigger at 60ft with a slider. Had two fish started on the slider but they got off. Copper green glow pirate. No hits on the wire diver's. trolled out to 170fow, got a good rip on the slide diver and it was gone. White Spin dr. with ice blue fly. I ran the colors that have been getting fish with no luck. I left my GPS home so speed was iffy. I have a Loran in my ff, what do you mean whats a loran. I have to recalibrate it to match the GPS. Going to try and get out in the morning, there may be fish in that warner water tomorrow. If your out in the morning and see a 16ft. lund give me a shout, I don't have a radio so you will have to shout. Mike.
  19. You should be able to launch your 17fter in black creek, there was a hump you have to get past. I've seen boats over 20ft go in there.
  20. F.F,I can lone you two manikins I won't be using,
  21. Hey, howcome the Rat gets two votes???
  22. OK,I'm in. BBQ sounds good. What kind of donation would help. Go easy, I just bought four used manakins at a going out of business sale, need to buy eight more rods and reels. Mike W.W.IV.
  23. Hey Dave, don't feel bad, last spring I started to let line out on a diver. I flipped into free spool and a solmon hit at the same time, I couldn't reel in or let line out, just hung on till the fish ripped off and I knew better than do that.
  24. I don't know if this could have done it, I had a 28BaHa and I was onboard at the dock when the bulge pump came on, after about 5min. it it didn't go off so I checked below to see what was going on. Well the hose on the wash down pump came off and left the pump running full bore.I think the bulge pumps (2) should be able to keep up with the wash down pump till the batteries went dead, shouting down all three pumps. Glad there was a happy ending even if they did lose there boat.
