  1. At least they were smart enough to put on there life jackets so you could save then.
  2. Guess I'll jump into this one,you get out there on a windy day and your motor lets you down on that 20-23fter that 8 hp. isn't going to cut it. You still need enough HP. to steer the boat and get you home safe. Smaller may not be better.
  3. Guess there not to much going on there yet. You must of had a nice ride out there sat.
  4. Hit the Bay about 8:00 AM,Lake was Flat ran out to about 110fow and set up to Dipies and a flat line. I ran spoons, spinny's and flys and sticks. Fished between IBay and the genny, Temp. was 47-51degs. fished till 1:00PM Never had a hit. Speed was 2.1-2.7 sog. Never marked a fish.
  5. Hey Yoda that looks like a Red-Green job, where's the duck tape.
  6. Hey MuskyBob ,that looks a lot better that the fence post and milk cans.
  7. That's an outstanding job, and it looks to me like you put a lot of thought into it. Nice work.
  8. Well I'm sorry it happened to you but its cheaper to replace batteries and rope than riggers. I got broke into at the Genny river launch a while back, they got my tool box and some other junk. They must be wan-a-be mechanics. Love those fish dinners at Mimi's.
  9. The back of Mimi,s is not the best neighbor hood but are you sure it didn't happen in your own yard?
  10. I like the fire line, start with 8or 10 ft. of mono so it doesn't slip and a 6or8ft.florocarbon leader. That works for me.
  11. Welcome home, thank you and all the others who served. May the Fish Gods be with you. .
  12. K GF, the info.you and the others have provided should get me using in lines with out a hassle.Thank you.
  13. I fished Seneca 5/4 in the PM south end, trolled to the falls,to the west shore north past the salt plant back to east shore. Never had a hit or marked a fish. That north wind was sure cold. I don't work so whats a bad days fishing better then?
  14. Thanks guy's, it looks like anything we use, by one and if you don't like it try something else.
  15. Justin, If you come up Rt.81 and switch to 481 north you will end up in Oswego, or you go east to Mexico point or west to Fair Haven. All good ramps,I'd say start at FairHaven. Really good brown fishing and should be some Coho and kings in close. Have fun.
  16. Welcome Justin,You can fish L.O. with your 16ft. boat on shore for about a month or so more of spring fishing. It depends on the water temp. Make sure you have a GPS or a good compase on board the fog can get bad in a hurry, a marine band radio is nice also. You can get into some good fishing in less than 100fow. The wind down in the glen is not the same up on the lake so you will need to check conditions up here before you leave home. A weather radio with local reports is the way to go. SW-S-SE. winds are best,W under 10mph is not to bad. Sea you on the pond. Mike.
  17. Thanks for the reply MTboxess, the first line of the Bass Pro add said not avalable. It was a good thought.
  18. I'm thinking about going to inline boards, they look about the same to me.( 10x3.5 ). I'm guessing the release setup is the big thing. Would it be better to get a left and right hand board or interchangeable boards? I'll be using them on lake O. and the Finger lakes, would the smaller boards be better? I will be using line from 17 to 30lb. flea fliker. You walleye boys should have this all down pretty well by now. Oh I'm running 16fter.
  19. If you have a flat bottom with a consistent depth try a fireplug blue or silver clean about 30-40ft. lead off the ball. Run ball about 2ft. off bottom, the lure will run from side to side across the bottom, the lakers love it. Keep other lines clear of it or you will have a mess. It works well out side the brake wall at Oswego when your marking all those fish on bottom that won't bite. .
  20. They quit making them in the 90s I regret giving so many away. Don took good care of me so I past them around for others to try. I'm down to about four. . Now that I think about it they were bought out by an other lure mfg. Don has passed away but if you contact Fulton tool on Rt. 48 in Fulton N.Y. they may have more Info. Good luck.
  21. Wow,It don't look like the lake I was on Sunday morning in my 16fter.
  22. jimski, Instead of wondering why don't you just dump it into your car or truck and buy fresh gas.Just a thought.
