  1. Got to the bay about 9:00, headed straight out and set up in 50fow. Trolled out and marked fish at 65fow. dropped ball to 70fow trolled out to85fow fish on, nice brown about 9-10 lbs. Chicken wing. Put out green spinny and fly on dispy(slider) and protroll Echip and fly on ball. No takers.Pulled put at 12;30 1/1 not bad first time out since lou Cayuga. Hey I'm ready to take on the Rat at Cayuga Aug.02.
  2. I changed from rollers to sliders so I could drive my 16 lund on.Its not deep V. I did not use the trailer that came with the boat it was to narrow but I had a spare, bigger than needed but it works great. I had to reverse the spring to lower it, or there was no getting it off.The back cross bar was vee shaped and you will need that.I thank you will need mounting brackets for the sliders and side guides to keep the boat straight in a cross wind. If your trailer is to narrow the boat will sway at higher speed, you would be better off finding an other trailer.
  3. Iceman,Your going to tie your boat for to or three weeks fooling around and then end up going to a mechanic anyway. Drive over to the marina at east side Of IBay At the bridge, opps maybe you should drive around to the marina and talk to the old guy that owns it. Old motors are his thing. Maybe he can help you. If you don't know what end of the hammer to hit it with get someone that does. Times-a-waystin. Been there and did that.
  4. Ya, what L&M said, we stacked dipses before we knew they were down and outs. Great if you only have two riggers, you can run six rods off your 16ftr and put them all down deep, opps did I say six.
  5. off track, I got my USCG license in 1985 and I still remember sport fishing boats are at the end of the pecking order, senior moments and all. As much as I disliked blow boaters there not all bad.I knew one that was a pretty good charter capt. out of Sodus. Can't remember his name, another senior moment. Some of the worst captains I ran into were east of Oswego, They liked to push the small boats around if they could.Oh If you want to run 200yds of copper in a crowd I guess its your problem. Can't we gust get along.
  6. YT, a lure in there sail!! Come on if your that close a good look at your flare gun would carry a lot more weight. Even a sling shot and a hand full of marbles would send a message. How about a paint ball gun, that would mess up those sails. Be carefull you don't want a law suit. Have a nice day.
  7. I'm for the potato gun.
  8. bretter, thats a great fathers day present.
  9. They keep a lot of small fish, nothing goes back.
  10. isabell, I've used 6or8" light sticks when I marked fish down 180-200fow. Put the stick behind the ball and a spoon 4to6ft above it about 6ft. back and let out all the wire you dare. I cough salmon. I think I should have put a hook on the light also. Feel free to try what ever you want, if it work tell us if it doesn't forget it. Have a nice day.
  11. Rocket, most of the small boats don't come with a bilge pump, if you don't have one put one in there cheep and easy to install. It would help if you have an electric start motor and bat. to run it. If it gets rough and you start taking on water it can shift around enough to tip you over. Also if it looks like you can't make it back to port don't be afraid to run the boat up on shore if it gets real bad. Better safe than sorry. keep an eye on the weather on a cloudy day a thunder storm can sneak up on you. Be safe
  12. Rocketship, what ever you buy get quality and mount it so you can easily transfer it to your newer bigger boat. Good luck and good fishing.
  13. Boy does that boat look overloaded.
  14. Rich D,if you use your flash you can have faces on your pictures other wise they look good. Glad you had a good trip.
  15. Hey reeltime, nice post, sounded lake you just walk into the woods and shoot them. Ya sure I know better than that, you had a hell of a season. thanks for the post.
  16. Thanks Bosco, thats good news.I had the back of my truck broken into at 9or 10 in the morning at the Genny. I'm only 10min.from the bay but I would rather fish some of the other lakes myself. You know the grass is greener .....I've got a green Chev. PU with a white cap and a 16ft. Lund, maybe we'll cross paths at the launch. Thank for the info. Mike.
  17. Bosco, are using the north end boat launch at night and if you do have you ever been broken into? Hey it sounded like you had a good time and got a good fish dinner. Way to go. WW.
  18. Anggler,Buy a good portable booster battery and keep it in the boat and then try fishing with the main motor to fine out how long you will need to run it to keep the battery up. Run the main motor an hour before you quit for the day plus the 10or 15 min. run back time. You should have a fresh bat. for morning. What ever you do have a spare to get home with. You might be able to do something with a Solar charger. I'm sure you can work something out. Mike.
  19. Aggler, have you thought about hooking up a 12v to 120v converter to your truck to recharge the batteries at night. Just a thought. good luck.
  20. Mahone82. I fished out of FH for a while and went further east or west if the browns weren't hitting close to the piers.Found lots of browns east around Moon Beach and Ninemile point. Nice water east side of point. Try west up to Port Bay, work the points and creek mouths. I liked flutter spoons off the boards. Green and silver or orange silver. If the fish aren't there this won't help. Good luck.
  21. RR, If you tore the rivets through get new snaps and fit the rivets to them with washers for the inside and bang away, or do the same with pop rivets. Have fun.
  22. Morning fellow turkey hunters,we'll be heading down to Hecter 5/1-5/4. birds in the morning and fish Seneca or Cayuga after lunch and a nap. Hunt safe don't shot a friend or me either. Good luck. .
  23. I'm in. W.W.IV.
  24. Hey Ray.BrownBagger is taken. He's a eastender.
  25. JJK the best wind direction is SW-S-SE. NW at 6mph is fishable but it depends on that it did the night before. You have to go to the lake and see it for your self. Once you cross Rt. 104 it another world. I hope you don't have to drive far and good luck if you go Sat.
