I am giving you advice that i have given to many on here in person for over last 30++++ years I have been chartering. 1: Chartering is NOT for retirement = you don't charter your income building years to build up a retirement fund AND Retirement is for chartering (Think of this on so many levels----tax brackets @ different ages/income brackets ---Paying into social security for 30 years on the books 1st. ---Cash income in life when certain income limits are in play---winters off OR down south working boats in tourist locations ETC........... 2: There are 2 goals in a business model ---INCOME (earn Highest possible for your area and situation) & EXPENSES (Lower them "at ALL costs") 3: Make sure it is always FUN. "A fun job is not a job at all" Once it becomes a job and income driven then you have passed the point of diminishing returns !!!!!!!! = YOUR Time spent(lost) has more value than $$$ earned 4: You must have a good Accountant & good Lawyer & a GREAT SPOUSE....... 5: Learn all you can from others----- Walk a dock/make contacts and ask questions---you will learn quickly business tips both good & bad (BOTH tips have Equal value in a business model) Jerry RUNNIN REBEL

That is the best way I can describe Wisconsin Immediately cutting Lake Trout stocking and Michigan now wanting to grab those "cuts" and stock them in Michigan waters. On a map it looks like the same-only 1 Lake Michigan........ Jerry RUNNIN REBEL -
A Fireball Landed in Lake Michigan This Morning
RUNNIN REBEL replied to RUNNIN REBEL's topic in Open Lake Discussion
Well I guess it turns out that the "Fire ball" that crashed into Wisconsin waters of Lake Michigan Was actually a 5000 gallon tank/drum launched from the State of Michigan ACROSS the lake to Wisconsin shoreline filled with Lake trout Fry..........On the outside of the 5000 gallon tank/drum was painted " Wisconsin you ARE getting Lake Trout this year" Jerry RUNNIN REBEL -

From Braddocks Bay area East to Webster park/Ginna Plant area is most consistent , But Heavy pressure. Henderson Harbor on down south had good brown fishing a few years in a row, But has seemed to be missing the last couple springs. I realize this well east of your Sodus targeted area. Bigger browns on average to the numbers caught would be Golden hill State Park West to Niagara. Always structure-water color and more consistant Temps. and BAIT (Niagara River influence). Brown trout water with less pressure = Growth ALL 3 of these spots have the Lake Trout Option also that you asked for. Jerry RUNNIN REBEL

DR, Thanks for the positive review of the "Salmon School" seminar on Sat and entire LOTSA show. Bob, Russell and myself spent an incredible amount of time preparing this Power Point presentation. Took a 650 mile trip one way THREW CHICAGO !!!!!! to Sheboygan Wisconsin/Lake Michigan to meet/see his Anglers Avenue store and work with Russell ( P.S. everything I saw at Anglers Avenue is online + more). I actually could not get in my entire presentation in, even at that pace. I enjoyed the amount of people that came up to ask questions during lunch-the 2 breaks and in the hall ways. I do admit that I am NOT a well "polished speaker' But I honestly tried to give everyone there something they could take back with them and use with CONFIDENCE in their part of the lake. I want to thank Joe Yeager and Tim Brummond ++++ LOTSA staff for the organization and guidance to really make this happen . Thanks to Bill Hilts /staff and his wife for the effort and TIME spent that I saw all during the show. FINALY Bob Songin and Russell Gahagan were great Presenters-and teachers/friends to me, and I want to thank them again. This was a true seminar by 3 different CONFIDENT fisherman presenting ways to similar programs in a good chemistry atmosphere. THANK YOU to everyone that attended. Capt. Keith, We have Very little control over Lake Ontario levels, Partially because of the time delay (MONTHS)from when dam adjustments are made to the time lake levels are actually adjusted LAKEWIDE. We can not control or predict amounts of water coming from the upper Great lakes. I lived threw the floods of the 1970's(that is how the 3 ponds on Southside of my property & parkway of 10-12 acres each were made). Before that my family property had 150'-200' of protective sand beach in front. Durand had beach and orchards before lake edge and Braddocks had a train going across the mouth. ALL OF THAT is gone, eroded away from the lake storms. This happened since the 1958-D initial US/Canada agreement to keep Lake levels in-between around a 4' range. The point is at least the Moses Damm provided some lake level control (albeit very small ). Here is the problem, Why give up what little control of lake level we have now..... Agreement included that The US government will have to set money aside for any $ damages incurred by implementing the new plan 2014. The plan has been approved with NO $ available. Wayne County receives %50 of its tax base from Sodus Bay & lakeshore residence. Not only is there no money to fix a "Higher High lake level" damage...There is no $ also for tax base loss or The property values/Tax income drop to town/county & State municipalities that will cost public services. The ironic part is EVERY Gas pump/500-1000 gallon gas tanks at Sodus Bay marina's will flood-float then rupture. The waste water treatment plant will flood/overflow and the rest of private property septic fields will empty into bay & lake. Not much of a Environmental win.......Sorry but I have attended IJC lake level meetings since 2000 and watched $20 million to get this..... Jerry RUNNIN REBEL

Braddocks Bay channel to the Lake.. It will get worse in all ports with the approved lake level changes in the Plan 2014 (Lake Level US/Canadian agreement.) Pretty BIG win for the Environmentalists. After 14 years studied @ over $20 MILLION cost...........This was approved by the out going US President in the 11th hour and cannot be changed by the incoming US President because it is a treaty. Both US & Canada need to approve changes Jerry RUNNIN REBEL
