RUNNIN REBEL replied to brucehookedup's topic in Tournament Talk, Shows, Events & Seminars
Bruce, Everyone I talked too that fished it had nothing but GOOD things to say-"GREAT food"-Tournament town atmosphere-"well run"-even the 50/50 raffle had over a GRAND take home. The BAD would be the fishing that day (cannot hold them responsible for that one) And the UGLY would have to been the weather/FOG (again Mother nature threw out that one too) Even a buddy of mine who never entered a fish sat. AND still went home with OVER $2700 in CASH & product ! I will be fishing it next year & I am sure Lake Ontario United will be much more involved again, in early spring promoting. Congrats goes to Kevin & cast/crew for a SOLID foundation in which to grow this tournament for many years to come. Jerry Rebel Charters P.S. NO WAY is the Rochester fleet sitting this out next year Hooked up included ! -

RUNNIN REBEL replied to turp's topic in New York Fishing Reports - Lake Ontario (South Shore)
Nice spring catch there, Congrats ! And YES Tim very good call on that being a Chi-Ho cross (anal fin rays are not that of chinook) neither is that dorsal fin normal. That fish has "fan tail" genetics in it I would guess. Capt. Jerry Runnin Rebel -
The cap on a great, but interesting, season
RUNNIN REBEL replied to Reel Action's topic in Big / Small Game
Tom, GREAT season buddy !!!!! And you realy contribute on here GREATLY with your stories and pics. Nice adaptation & patience of what you were dealt with. I am having the most fun/learning year i ever had because of PATIENCE. Letting deer go and observing them is INVALUABLE !!!! Best of luck eating all that venison. Hey that last picture looks like the deer is 4 FEET behind the vehicle or it could be a cluttered garage optical illusion. Jerry -

Thanks for the score update. That is very cool to be able to put a score with a bunch of GREAT PICTURES. The story and follow up pics made for a fantastic read. THANKS & CONGRATS Jerry -

REMINDER: if any short wise guys (or tall chefs, taxidermist, salesman, charter chumps, policeman, dentists, truck drivers, computer geeks or people named LARRY, ETC) decide to contribute brilliant twisted well conceived jabs. Thanks Squid for mentioning marv's passing. Larry and i remember the Cap & Lambie boat (highest enclosed in vinal bridge at the time of 1980's for our area, Nautalis-pete Sheldon close 2nd.) as easy to spot offshore (300' of water) Remember this is the 1980's & 300 ft of water WAS OFFSHORE !! We called that boat "THE SPIDER" because of ALL the rods bent over off her stern & sides. Cap & Lambie looked like a spider coming down the flats to the nose. R.I.P. with many GREAT memories of "THE OLD OAK FLEET" RUNNIN REBEL Jerry Also Capt. Marv knew my wife's uncle Capt. Bob Cass of Seneca lake also back in the early days.

Salmonite, I believe it is a combination of an ABOVE average growing season this year(vegetation-crops), weather related made it that way early & wet (got that from 4 different farms we hunt) Horns are genetics BUT affected greatly by food/protein availability. And 90% of hunters are hunting POSTED up property(which usually allows LESS total hunters on any given land and UNIFORMED set of harvest rules. EXAMPLE: 1 property we are on there is no pushes/drives OR Sanctuary/bedding areas OFF LIMITS & 8pts or better/outside the ears on bucks harvested, PLUS my favorite you better not shoot a button buck! A long cold/hard winter with a late dry spring and just the opposite. Just my .03 cents Jerry

Lee, Very sorry to hear that story & i hope and PRAY he will make out all right. THANK YOU for that very important message. The tree stand accident in Bristol was near our land there. The Mercy flight copter landed behind the Bristol fire house field/picked up hunter and was headed to Hospital in Rochester, when on the way medics lost the hunters pulse and they immediately turned and headed to F.F. Thompson hospital in near by Canadaigua. He was pronounced dead there. THIS TREE STAND was ONLY 10 feet up. PLEASE -THINK-BECAREFUL Jerry

SORRY ABOUT THE "LOOOONG" POST here & overkill camera pics, BUT i get into the properties. Shawn, Tell me you ALSO have recipe for coyote jerky or a use for the hide(with 1 hole in it) ? Chad this is what they are after. SAME location-SAME day-SAME time frame Adult Deer NO fear..... LOOK @ the dates & times Wait till we get SNOW on the ground. They can run then BUT they cannot hide !!!!! Another pic of The pack leader "YELLOW GHOST" (i have never seen in person yet) Coyotes love turkeys(especialy spring time nests/young) My daughter collects the feather remains...

Joe & Chad WELL DONE!!!!!!! That is a beast.... VERY COOL. Unkel Jerry -
It would take me all nite to congradulate ALL you guy,s (Rob GREAT SEASON so far & Lee-Jeremy-Pete etc.) AND to THUMBS UP all the great stories also.(Chad-Andy-Vince-Ray etc.) So GREAT JOB with the pics & stories, KEEP THEM COMING. As for me I played BOUNTY THE DOG hunter on Sat. & only hunted Sun PM. Seen many deer so far just young w/mom & mostly non-shooter Bucks trailing. I did see "OLD TIMER BUCK" Sun PM but could not end buck season that quick (plus this buck IS OLD-not much meat) I have camera pic's of big guys on other properties we hunt in Bristol & Hamlin/Carlton area so trying to split time. GOOD LUCK to you guy,s Jerry

Congrats Vince on a nice 7 pt. You saved the bow season so far. Story to follow I bet (BUT PLEASE tell it in less than 3 cell phone calls) Congrats again, you have been working your plan HARD this season w/Mark. This is the 1st. & only picture I have of Vince SMILING that did NOT cost me or team REBEL money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
