Looks great good luck with her!!

I agree with Duane it probably is not necessary but looking it up and reading the folklore behind it all might be fun and if nothing else a good laugh!!
-
Way to go Bob I will be reading it as always and again thanks!!
-
Sorry for your loss you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

I think if you follow the proper ceremony all will be well. Try and google boat name change ceremony and you will find it. But you are right they say bad luck will come if you do not. I am not superstitious but I would not take a chance on this one.

Fishbandit Thank you for that info that is great news it is now time to get the boat wet!!!

Glad to have you here. I am still learning from these guys they are great and sometimes I can even help a fellow angler with a question. If you go to the 1000 islands for pike send me a message and I can help you with that I have been trolling for N. Pike up there for 20 years with some pretty good success. You also can keep an eye on the open seats section of the board and you might find yourself reeling in a king with a fellow board member. Good Luck Gene

HI guys what is the best source to buy coated cable for my down rigger? I put a new depth raider on my boat last year and the cable that came with it did not hold up so well I was hoping I could replace it with something better. Thanks Gene

Thanks for the info guys!! Could you guys tell me where the nearest launch to sandy creek is where they have a dock in the water now. I dont have a problem paying to launch but when I am with the wife and son I really need a dock to launch from.

Thanks JollyII Does anybody know when the docks usually go in??

Nice ride I have a 2004 1802 with the 115 4 stroke motor and I love this boat, it tows great and rides nice even in fairly rough water ( alot better than my 16" alumnium LOL ). The 115 trolls great for salmon , trout and (N. pike& Bass) I have not had to put the trolling bags in the water yet. I dont know about those walleyes, you probably have to slow it down for those tasty fish. I am realy happy with gas consumption, it is a cheap day of fishing as long as I keep my cruising speed near 20 mph and with a 4 man crew and gear it will go 35 mph when I need it. Your boat looks set up real nice where do you put in? I launch at Sandy Creek North of Brockport NY.

Russ I have the LMS525 4000 watt dual freq with gps and I got a free map chip and it is a nice unit for the money and the gps is pretty nice to. If I did not need both I would have went with furon but I was furnishing a new boat and the budget was runnung dry. I will not complain about this unit it is great for the money and like these guys are telling you go dual freq and grab all the wattage you can get. Gene

Jack I have a 2004 1802 trophy with a 115hp 4 stroke mercury and it has been a great trailer boat. I have used it on lake erie, ontario and the 1000 islands for all kinds of fishing. I sent you a pm if you want more details just give me a call. Gene

10/18&19 Area 9H Food Source's available - standing corn, (food plots chicory, clover, turnips) &Beech Nuts Weather below avg Temps heavy frost in the mornings Deer activity limited to a few sightings but did see one buck bumping some does. Also seen allot more mid day activity than usual for this time of year probable due to the temps. Deer Sign more scrapes than usual for this time of the year, normal amount of rubs (1 very good rub line on some big trees I hope I get to see him) I think the best 4 days may happen a little bit sooner this year I think next week could be very hot if the temps stay low.

Rob I agree but these are different than the old style mechanicals especially concerning penetration. I must say I don’t like mechanical arrow rests anymore than you like mechanical broad heads so I guess we all have different tolerances to different things. I had a fall away fall out of tune on a friends bow at camp once and it gave me fits all weekend to get it right so he lost some hunting time. I can put a whisker biscuit on a bow and get it shooting great in 20 minutes tops. I have watched Phil Race set up those fall away rests and get them to shoot perfect but I don’t have a hooter shooter at camp. If I am down at camp for a week and something goes wrong with a fall away I would go nuts. You do have to pay attention to the blades on the rage broad heads but from the research I have done they are worth it. These old eyes need a little more blood on the ground when we are tracking at night. Gene

Nice Buck thats a great bowkill in WNY!!! What did he score?
-
SharkBait I made the switch from muzzys (90 gr 4 blade) to 2 blade rage as well. I have killed many deer with the muzzys but with the coyote problem at camp we can not leave a deer over night we have to recover it in the dark. We have found with double lung hits with the muzzys the blood trail does not start to get heavy for a fairly long distance and if the deer gets in the heavy cover it makes for a tough recovery at night. My hope from what I read, is to get a better blood trail and hopefully a shorter blood trail as well. Congrats on the buck and as long as it made you happy to harvest him then it was a great bow kill!!! Hunt Hard Hunt Safe Gene
