I read in some other post some where that bouncing the dr ball off the bottom sort of like a thumper rod will work also, Q? should you use a dr ball snubber ( not sure if the term is right ) i'd hate to loose everything off the back of the boat if it snagged on something thanks ted

have what i belive is a 275 the numbers on the top of the drive on a plate 27145614b i need to replace the boots and i want to make sure i get the right parts. I was missing the shift linkage cover so i purchased a one that says 270 on it it has two bolt holes but the drive has only one bottom bolt hole . it a 21 ft 86 bayliner trophy with i belive is a 305 in it. thanks ted

while on the topic of rod holders my buddy gave me a pair of super ski rod holders, they are a super heavy duty poly upper with a heavy aluminum base Q? are they heavy enough for wire dipseys? it apppears i can mount 4 of the rod holders per side with ease ted ray be nice!

i've had alot of luck with copper and have always used the 50Lb spro swivil and i tie ( overhand knot ) everything no snaps, i'm by no means an expert but thats worked well for me ted fits through the rod guides and the level wind

would the pump be the one on the front of the block i have 86 trophy with a 305 thanks ted

i may be way off base but i had a project boat that had power steering ( merc 260) the drive steered just fine without the motor running, i may be wrong but i believe the only time i makes a difference is when your underpower with the main engine. ted

you may want to check all your lines, i had late 80s outboard apparently when they started adding alcohol to the gasonline it played havoc with lines, gaskets and hoses. I had a supply inline from an inboard tank deteriortate so bad it closed off supply to the engine when the fuel pump called for fuel. ted

I use spro in line swivils for trolling, they are the 50# and you don't even know that they there. I've never had line twist since. ted

im thinking about mounting my tite locks on home made gimbal mount rod holders " i have 30 degree perco rod holders installed on my bayliner trophy Q. do you think 1/4 inch pipe on the gimbal and 1/4 inch angle on the the mounting surface should be sufficient strengtht for dipseys. i am cofifident on my ability to weld the pipe to the plate. just a thought? thanks ted

My friend Dwayne and I were talking about the issue today. why are just sportsman man or women penalized because we tote a gun into the woods or a fishing pole to your favorite spot?, why not a land use tax for all persons utilizing state land or waters aka "hikers bird watchers " etc. who use the resource but pay no fee to the support wild life within it. I am all for any tax / stamp that will support our wildlife but look what they did with the lottery! education my buttocks! if our kids have the grades they should be able to ride for free in the state system.
