I got the invite to hunt whitetails in Northern Canada .. 1800 miles one way and we reached the most remote destination I've ever seen. The guides were fantastic .. day 1 and I'm in a ground blind .. I see a doe walk in and she was 2x bigger than any doe I've seen in NY... An absolute Clydesdale! A short time later a big body, Chocolate horned monster walks in... The guide told me to look for a buck with a split G3... This guy has no split G3, but was the biggest buck I've ever seen... I level the Weatherby on him and letter bark... The buck hauls the mail past my blind and disappears. After a short tracking job, we find him piled up .. the buck broke off 7 inches of his G3 split just hours before I shot him. I'd love to see the buck he fought with... What a trip.... I'm not going to forget the Giant bucks of the Northern Canadian bush .

I haven't shot a good buck in a long time ..Got an invite and hunted with a buddy last week in Monroe County .. saw one doe, but other than that it was a slow couple hrs. I noticed movement in a thicket to my right, and saw some tall times. The buck was walking away from me. A couple soft guns and his mind was changed... Here he comes ... Gets into perfect bow range and stops. The Elite sent a slick trick right into his left shoulder. Lighted knocks was easy to tell it was a little forward. As he spun and ran off, I watched him fall twice and then disappear. Good thing I was in a big tree because the shakes kicked in ... Made the call and me and my buddy took up the track . Not much of a blood trail, but my buddy found the buck dead in a creek with his leg hung up in a bunch of tree roots... My best Bow buck... Big thanks to my Buddy Mike for the invite and the help recovering the buck .. More adventures are in the near future...

It appears the chew is back on... We did pretty good on kings today. It was still a bit later in the AM when they turned on. Still had some short bites and lost fish, but overall a much better day.

Deep rig tackle baits do it again off my long coppers. .. Great day with awesome guests ...

One thing I forgot to mention about yesterday.... The west wind finally had an effect on the fish..... They are on the move as the warmer water invades the inside/mid waters. I think we are to the point where we are actually fishing for them now. With that being said, don't get hung up on Temperature. Follow the marks and put baits where they are.
