Wow.....I thought I heard it All now.... You are seriously saying it's OK for people to break the law because of their socio/economic status? That's ridiculous! In that case then poor inner city folks should be allowed to do burglaries, sell drugs, or shoplift....I mean it helps them...No? Where do you draw the line. And calling us self Riteous is a plain old slap in the face....we are LAW ABIDING CITIZENS. And who are you to decide what laws should be enforced and what to overlook... Never mind the snagging, but sir do you have a license? Really? Condone you? Many people on this lake work very hard through pen rearing projects, fundraising, and good ole hard work to keep our fishery going.... And you get on an open forum and condone the illegal taking of the fish they worked so hard to preserve? Outstanding! The bottom line is rules are rules and we all need to follow them....no matter what end of the economic ladder you are on.... Sent from my VS985 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

The best Brand hunt I've ever had was when hurricane Sandy came through.... 6ft breakers and Brant skirting the swells.... Sent from my VS985 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I personally don't care for autos. I've hunted in some of the most brutal conditions here in NY's January season, Rhode Island, and even St. Paul Island Alaska. I've seen 3 different auto guns freeze solid or rust shut in a matter of hours.... I personally shoot an 870 supermag... In early season it's not necessary to shoot 3.5's....but late Diver and Sea Duckin, I always shoot the bigger shells. Doesn't bother my shoulder anymore than shooting slugs.. An 870 is simple to take apart and is pretty much idiot proof.... Probably why I like it...lmao Sent from my VS985 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I have a 37#Buck, and a 40# Hen King mounted.... my personal mount numbers are #20 brown, 30# laker....if it happens, it happens. As long as they are decent markings like Paul said... the real trophy I've been drooling for is a 50+ inch Muskie. I've come pretty close, but she has to be a legit 50 to get the replica.... Found Lake Ontario Muskie
Missdemeanor replied to mhtrapper's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I must add that I musky fish on occasion.... I have a great deal of respect for these critters. As a rule, muskie fishermen use bigger baits.... twin ten inline spinner baits, big tubes like Red October's, or pounder Bulldogs. Big baits that would be difficult for a Ski to swallow. From the pics I saw, it looked like she came up behind it and inhaled it. Not surprising. From the hook position, I would almost guarantee a similar result even if you used a cradle. Congrats to the anglers and I'm glad that a proper tribute mount (s)will be paid to such a majestic predator. Sent from my SM-T550 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -
Found Lake Ontario Muskie
Missdemeanor replied to mhtrapper's topic in Musky, Tiger Musky & Pike (ESOX)
I saw the pics of where it was hooked.... very deep and the line was chaffed .... I talked with one of the guys on the boat who I know. Next to jumping in the water with the fish and giving her mouth to mouth these guys did what they could. Remember guys, they were salmon fishing.... no stiff rods, braided line , or twin tens o to help landing fish faster. It was a Stingray down the fish's throat on regular Salmon gear... Yea it sucks that this big girl won't be around, but this catch is a fish of a lifetime. Sent from my SM-T550 using Lake Ontario United mobile app -

All mono rods should have heavier line (30#) or some sort of sea flea resistant qualities...blood run makes some. Spoons....I use30# big game and I splice in a rod length of 15# Seaguar Blue label flour. Paddles....I use straight 30#. Divers I use a rod length of 20 # flour from the diver to the spoon. If I run a paddle off the diver, same length but I use 30#. Copper....I tend to just use 30# on that too... leader lengths I use are around 50ft. A little extra incase there's a fray.....hope this helps. Sent from my SM-T550 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Matt... Jon Ross Tomahawk was next to us when I jumped out on the swim platform to net that fish. He probably thought we were nuts with all the commotion...plus we had the stern into the waves, so I was soaked. The crazy stuff us fisherman do...lol Sent from my SM-T550 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

I gotta side with Pete on this one....especially this time of the year.... I will put my chute rigger in some 44 degree water, but the other two are adjusted to work bait pods and marks. I will chase marks too.... everyday is different. It's knowing how to tweak your presentation to get your rigs to go. Sent from my SM-T550 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

Thanks for the kind words guys... The Sandy Creek Shootout is the Biggest "Little" tournament of the year. 47 boats says something about how hard these guys work to bring an event to Monroe County. With the good king bite recently, it was anybody's ball game. I'm not a tourney guy, but this is a cool event with no pressure. Sent from my VS985 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
