  2. Rob....Ive always used rangers....Actually One is over 20 years old. I just replaced the netting... I bought a rubber net this year...Bigger Hoop, heavy as heck, but worth it when Brownies or Lakers start twisting .
  3. Spring time is 20# with various leader strengths...Brownie fishing in Skinny water, I leader down to 12# seaguar floro...King fishing is 15# Seguar. Summer and Flea time I use 30# big game...If Im running flasher flies, its straight 30# . Spoons I run 15# Seguar leader. Once the flease show up , alot of guys just splice in 100 ft (or so) of the 30#... Uni knots as Gambler has posted....
  4. Gator.....I'm sure I'm rushing it, but I love the offshore bite.... Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Went right out the front door this Am thinking that maybe the cold water from the east pushed those Sharks closer to the Ole muddy. Found a 5 degree temperature break out in 75-80 ft. Nice green water and a wicked scum line too. Only had a few hours to get after em for an LOC fish, so we worked the area in hopes of a Rogue. Took a couple shots...One on a Smitty firetiger off the board and one on an NBK 22 down. Smaller fish, nothing much to write home about. On a side note...this break was extremley defined... If we have a break like this a month from now, its going to be a s#!t show.... I hate to say it, but the June Transition may have come early. Hopefully the lake gets this out of its system, so we can get offshore for some chrome.....

  9. Flx.... I will take a 25 for 35 day anytime... Great fishing!!!... That Vanish line sucks about as bad as that p line floro. Did you happen to get a water temp as you got closer to Ginna?
  10. I would like to thank Capt Rick for the info. The networking and willingness for Captains to help each other as well as Rec guys is why our fishery is what it is today....tight lines guys! Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Without sounding like a broken record, i will give a brief report... The fishing has really kicked up a notch or three in the last week. The king bite was exceptional with fat lakers mixed in. If you venture out this time of year and mark hooks on the bottom, they might not be lakers... Sunday was the proof of that. Stand out spoons were NK spook, and various FLT customs... 22. There are days any kind of line will get fleas. 30# big game repels them pretty well. I never liked FF because it twisted wicked on my reels. I found Big Game to be adequate, and economical. Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. No...i have rods rigged with 30# strictly for when fleas suck... Sent from my VS980 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
