1. Hunted some extreme conditions with iced up decoys, frozen equipment and borderline frostbite. Talk about a mixed bag! Redheads, Blue Bills, Mallards, a Golden Eye, a Buffle head, Sky Carp ( Canada Goose) and a bonus Banded Black duck. I will be thawing out my gear for days after this hunt. Be safe out there die hards!

Sent from my VS920 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

2. Today we battled big wind, ice, and nasty waves...if it was balmy and 60 degrees it wouldn't be Western NY duck hunting. Along with bills, cans, and a Red Head, we took a few popcorn ducks. Would have been one of those days, but we got iced out. On to plan B after this Deep freeze....careful out there guys!

Sent from my VS920 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

3. Salt water soak till blood is out. Cut off all the fat..cut em into fingers...I marinate em in soy or teriyaki ...bread in panko and then cook em in a little oil.....not all divers can be done this way....Cans, redheads are the best. Bills are pretty good too.....whistlers, buffies, and sea ducks get ground up for sausage or saved for dog training......

Sent from my VS920 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

4. No Mounters.....I've all ready had cans and bills mounted......they eat very nice though

Sent from my VS920 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

5. Starting closest....hen and drake can....drake red head....the rest are blue bills, the farthest bird is a hen whistler that some other guys wounded.....funny thing was we shot two lesser blue bills. Never seen them around....drakes have really cool purple on their heads.....

Sent from my VS920 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

6. Love those Red Heads........Birds are in prime shape for sure
 7. The recent cold weather has brought down some nice birds. If the opener was any indication, I have some high hopes for the next couple weeks....
 8. WOW.......Very cool......Once in a while Ive seen Bald Eagles along the Lake Ontario State Parkway, but never a Snowy. Thanks for posting.

 13. I was walking along the lake shore this AM in western Monroe County....in a small 40 yard area I counted 10 big Lakers dead on the shore. Big meaning 28 to 32 inchers. The fish were not beat up or decayed. There were a couple browns mixed in as well. No pics because the weather was bad...big waves, freezing spray....not great for cell phones....lol Sent from my VS920 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app
 14. Sent you a PM.....
 15. You east enders now have a nice billion dollar artificial reef to hold bait and predators on......LOL
 16. Dan.....I completely agree with your statement about cats. I used to belong to a hunt club down south of Canisteo. We had a license to release pheasants and we did. Usually about 60 birds each weekend. More than once we would release in the AM and by the afternoon hunt time, we were finding bodies. I initially though we had a big fox or coyote issue. I set up a bunch of pheasant carcasses out and sat on them. No predators just three nasty barn cats from the neighbor's Farm. As much as I wanted to, I didn't drop the hammer on them. We went to the farmer and explained what was going on....He was decent, and apologized. A week or so later, he stopped buy with a sH!t eating grin and said we wouldn't see anymore cats around. Good guy for sure. Fast forward 15 years and the Farmer comes over to tell us he's having an issue with Black bears tearing up his corn fields...Says they are causing thousands of dollars in crop damage to the farms in the area.....Come Saturday, I plan on returning the favor to him...Look out Yogi and Boo Boo.....Your going to be walking into a hot L.Z.
 17. From a legal standpoint, Shooting a dog which is chasing deer is illegal. You could be charged with an animal cruelty count, possibly criminal mischief ( Dogs are owned property). You would also open yourself for a lawsuit as well. My advice is to contact the local dog warden as well as the DEC....Good luck
 18. Gotta love that! Sweet story Gregg Sent from my VS920 4G using Lake Ontario United mobile app

 23. On Friday I had a 103 lb box.....I ran back to the same numbers and we had well over 30 bites, but they were all smaller class fish. We boated 15 kings all between 12 and 18 lbs. The big ones moved on from the day before. Lots of good class Steel head also..... It sounded like the inside was the place to be for the tourney fish. Congrats on a good showing and congrats to all who placed.....
