  8. Lbg... Interesting post....however I feel that I must respond. Regarding the change in date...let's look at last years shootout date: yes it coincided with two different tournaments....yes it was in the alleged "prime time" of august. Now the reality....the fishing sucked. One king weighed in...really in August? The weather was not very hospitable as well. Now let's look at this year....yes it is on a non derby day...however I would bet money that guys will be on the water anyway. July has always been a great month for kings....ever since I can remember and I've been fishing the lake since the very first ESLO in the 70s. Let's look at the weather in July....not too shabby, plus the fishing has been pretty darn good to. Not a bad call as far as changing the date if you ask me. So you guys can't go out of Braddocks this year....ok....I can't go out of the river.....just because you can't launch out of Braddocks, doesn't mean you can't fish there. There are plenty of launches available( as previously posted). I have to run my boat all the way from the river and find a dock on the creek. And you think trailering a boat from braddocks to sandy is a pain? If you wanted to still fish Braddocks there is nothing stopping you. In fact I'm probably going to fish it, and I would trade you fuel bills in a second. There have been a lot of inquires from oak boats as well as River Boats about being able to leave out of their ports. I don't blame the tournament organizers for making it Sandy only to avoid any issues. Now the 4 fish issue....I don't understand the problem with changing the tournament bag limit. Especially with how the fishing has been lately. The raise in the tournament fees is a potential good thing....first off the extra twenty five bucks is not going to bust the bank and the increased payouts will be nice. If you have four guys in the boat...it costs everyone 25 bucks plus fuel... No big deal. Without question the changes have more pros than cons. Unfortunately not everyone can be accommodated. I welcome the new changes and I look forward to meeting guys at the weigh in.....tight lines guys......
  9. Rob.....Great job.....I can't wait to come out there for the shootout.
  10. Good shark brother [ Post made via Android ]
  11. Del......go to torpedo divers website.....the two sized swivels they sell is all you will need.
  12. Bohica......kinda like the presidents plan to lower fuel prices..... [ Post made via Android ]
  13. Chrome.....Ive owned two sets of the 10.5 ft Okuma Dipsey rods. They did not have the rollers but the regular eyes. I took the end eye off and installed a twilley. In one year, I went through both sets of rods because the eyes totally suck. The wire ate through the first two eyes on the rods. I had a pair of St. Croix diver rods for almost 15 years till I broke one. never had an eye issue. I love the loose action of the Blue Diamond diver rods. It is pretty forgiving when it comes to fighting a shark and keeping tight line on them. The only problem is the gold metal eyes are too soft to handle wire. I went with 10 ft Heartlands and they seem to be working out just fine. I will be interested to see how they hold up.
  14. Camo..... I'm not a full time captain either..... My land job is 4 days on , two days off on the graveyard shift. It allows me middle of the week trips plus numerous afternoons. May I remind you that sandy is a smaller port and there are not many charter guys out of there. I believe sandy has more rec fisherman than any other port. Too each his own though.....I will be there for sure....good times and lots of ball busting to boot. Hope you decide to partake.....
  15. All right guys....The clock is ticking on a great tourney. No stress....Lots of fun.....11 more days......and the fishing has been phenomenal. See you guys on the 23rd.
  16. Scotty....Thanks again for the invite. The bristol bay brawler and the Ooo-Kan-uu-Bah... Right on!!! .....Knock em dead when I'm up in Eagle bay....See you guys at the Shootout.
  17. Chris.....Outstanding brother.....Glad everything is going well and "back to normal" (Knock on wood).
  18. Lol......Id like to see him do that on the back of a boat in three footers......Lmao.....Cool video
  19. Thanks guys....it felt great to be out again.....the rest of my summer is going to very busy with rescheduled trips and of course the land gig getting n the way. Just fishin.....feel your pain brother......a big thing now is that damn ethanol. The low test stuff really causes havoc with marine engines. I used an ethanol treatment and now I run a little higher test fuel. My issues were the old .50 cent part causing hundreds of dollars in repairs. Good luck out there boys.....the kings are on the chew......
  20. Fantastic pics....Thanks for sharing
  21. After being on the injured reserve list for the past three weeks, the Missdemeanor was 100% and ready to go. I worked the Land gig till 0700hrs on the 7th and then took her out for a test run...Good to go so we made the hike to the fishing grounds. Started around 0930hrs and fished to 1200. 12 landed for 15 total bites. Good spinnys were Captain Valium, Mr. Measles, and Live Wire. Behind the spinnys I ran an Atomik frozen Frog, and Fox flies in Gizzard shad, High octane green. Mostly king bite with a few Steeleis thrown in. 07/08 we went back to the same area and found the current to be better and the fish were still on the chew. Same cast of characters as far a paddle set ups. Spoons were the wonderbread, Spook, Yeck Obama, and Yeck Glow frog. Ended the morning around 1030 going 14 for 17. Some pics from today....Tight lines...
  22. Rick.... It only begins....try having a daughter....I have more pink spoons and flies than anyone. Dennis at Narbys get a big laugh every time I go there with my daughter. He shows her all the latest and "greatest" pink lures.....guess who goes home with a pile of pink stuff every time....... The worst part is , my daughter snitches me out to my wife about how much money I spent......... It's a conspiracy.....
