  1. Come on Scott......that's not why your wrist is taking a beating... You can get a saltist without a line counter. Using ten colors or a 300 copper, you really don't need a line counter. I have been using the saltist reels and I love the high speed gears. I may try Okuma reels this year for my coppers. They also have high speed gears in their bigger reels. Good luck with your decision. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  2. Happy birfday ya old salty.... [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  3. Awsome pics......redheads are some of the best eating divers....next to cans. Hopefully with the apparent population increase, the Feds will allow us to shoot a couple more next year. It still amaizes me the canadians can shoot 4 of either redheads or cans and we can only take 2RH and 1 can.....thanks again for posting.... [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  4. Rusty....any eel grass around? Most all divers like it. When food is limited, divers will work on zebras. We also pounded the red heads and canvasbacks this year. I did notice in the flocks of cans, there were 3 to 1 drake to hen ratio. Take some good photos.....love them divers! [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

  8. Sausage....lmao....mussel eaters. I'm going to mix them in with all the whistlers and bills We shot this late season. Eiders make sweet mounts. Probably the toughest bird I've ever hunted. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  9. Waldo Annie and the rest of the hounds must have had a ball......stack em up like chord wood. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]

  13. I've hunted those little noise makers before. Shot a few good drakes for the wall, but I could Never get them to taste good so I stopped shooting them. Do you have a recipie for them? Me and My buddies Did very well on cans, red heads and bills. Probably the best season in ten years. Congrats on the squaws....they are fun to shoot. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  14. Nice.....like the scene....shot some of those this year. Kinda dumb. We decoyed a flock, dropped some and the rest came back for another go round....ad far as birds, they aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  15. Scotty.....you old fart.....happy birsday [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  16. Depends on a lot of factors. Brand of gun, powder, grain bullet, and What kind of glass you have on it. I am comfortable shooting My savage out to 200 or so. Just need a little more bench time to know My true limits. I would say that most inline guns will shoot at least to 150 with minimal drop or decreased velocity. Good luck shopping. I Did alot of shopping before I made My decision. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  17. Holy Diver is right.....Domestic dogs wont really come in like regular critters. I hunt some high pressure areas with houses nearby and ive never called in a domestic animal. Ive had an owl come down and try to snag my decoy though....Scared the $hit out of me. I also had a pack of yotes come in behind me when I was hunting alone....They were so close I could hear them growling.....I did manage to shoot one , but the other 4 halled arse....Once you get those first set of eyes coming in , you'll be hooked....Good luck...
  18. First thing in am, and right at dusk. I usually have a partner with me and I have him sit 50 to 75 yards down wind. Coyotes are notorious for approaching down wind....same with red fox. Greys on the other hand Just try to run you over. Very aggressive. Would be glad to meet up and give you some pointers. [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
  19. Fox pro is an excellent calling system. I personally use mouth calls. I can really crank on the rabbit in distress and the coyote pup in distress yips. I also have two squeakers from one of my dogs toys. They work great when the predator is hung up out of range. I usually use a shotgun, so I have to have the critters in close....
  20. Well.....here is My field report on the savage...devestating! Smoked a doe the other day and ray Charles could have followed the short blood trail. I'm going to have a Hard time going back to the 870. Bruce hooked up...Thanks again for the invite [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
