Some salmons up to 23 pounds were caught during the last 2 weeks but most of the time boats are catching rainbows, about 6-10 per day. Most of them are caught between the surface and 50' in about 150' FOW. It is probably as good further offshore but for now there is no need to go that far to get steelheads so people stay close. FOR SALE EVINRUDE 9.9 hp engine, 4 strokes, short shaft, tiller, manual start, year 2000, nice blue color. I was told that this kicker have been used less than 20 hours (first owner deceased and second owner who bought it from succession wanted only the boat so he sold this engine to me). Engine is in excellent shape. I bought it last December but finally decided to purchase instead a 20 hp long shaft (with electric trim and electric starter) because of the size of the boat on which I want to install it (24' Princecraft Corsica). Engine is presently available in Gatineau, QC. Included with engine are: plastic fuel tank, fuel line, spare spark plugs & instruction/maintenance booklet (engine stand appearing in the picture is not included). Asking price: 1300$. Action is not really that important but you will definitely need to have BIG guides on that rod, because with copper the knots can't be small. Also, you want metal guides only, because the big knots will pop out ceramic inserts if there is some. Best is to buy a rod designed for lead core. Shimano make a good one that is not too expensive.
