  1. Just had a fish hit while lowering the 150 rigger down to 165. Lost it. Then while resetting and putting the rigger down a fish nails it while dropping it. Dropped that one too.
  2. Water is very warm, 65 deg down 100 over 350fow. Stopped in 100fow for a while, didnt mark a thing. Trolled from 250fow-350fow, couple of marks around 90.
  3. Our new fly type to try this weekend... we called it a "dog's eye fly" or "ruffed up fly", RUFY for short. It's a small LED with a fly skirt over it. Anyone who fished the Salmon Slam this year got one. I'm hoping it will help turn those fish on that come off the bottom right at dark!
  4. Wind is whipping. Going to drive over and check the lake out, but feeling like a good morning to get breakfast.
  5. Ahhhh the sweet sound of the word vacation! We are headed up to Sodus for over a week of fishing to attempt to land the LOC winner! We have a coworker/friend of ours coming out this weekend, so hopefully the fish cooperate! The weather looks like it might not cooperate tomorrow morning, but we'll give it a go if we can. Otherwise, it might be a good day for breakfast and then afternoon fishing. Everything I've heard, the fish are still out deep with a few stagers in that <100ft range. The lake looks beautiful right now, let's hope it looks like that for most of the week! Here's part two of my two coworkers fishing with us last weekend. Couldn't ask for nicer weather or better fishing! Good luck to everyone out there this weekend, let's see that 40lber on the LOC board! Nick
  6. Here are two pics of the steelhead mount from my 20lb steelhead that fishwish mounted. I left a CD of pictures and several printouts along with the fish. She shipped the mount to me and to my horror it was painted in full fall colors, red stripe and all. I ended up driving it the 5+hrs back to her as I was afraid to ship it again (a fin broke the first time) and then drove back up once it was redone. I still haven't placed the mount on the wall as to me it's a $350 black eye. I keep saying I'm going to find someone to at least repaint it, but I just never seem to get around to it.
  7. Matthew, great info! Keep letting those dipseys out if you could so we can get some long lead results... If you have the time to check these: 3 Setting out 500ft 1 setting out 350ft 1 setting out 250ft They are my 3 favorite settings Nick
  8. FishWish in Mexico has done a great job on two of our kings, but did a terrible job on our steelhead.
  9. Mosh, if you need a place to clean fish, we have a nice cleaning station at Arney's Marina that myself and the other fishermen at Arney's bought. Only rules are that it needs to be cleaned throroughly after you're done and no dumping of the guts in the water by the marina and definitely not in the dumpster at the marina. (We put the guts in the buckets and take them far out in the bay or out to the lake to dump them). Nick
  10. Wayne, I agree... definitely the best way to tell how far your dipseys are down is to troll shallow. The frustrating part is when you troll in one day, 350 will hit in 90fow, another day it will hit in 80fow. Nick
  11. It does, few feet in the fall. My boat will sit on bottom at my dock
  12. Skip the pills, get the patch. Ive never had someone with the patch get sick.
  13. Normally the lake levels are what chase us out. The three year olds and steelies are usually biting great through sept!
